    Beautiful flowers, mocha, and cookies

I ordered the iced mocha (62% dark choco), and it was absolutely heavenly! The rich dark cocoa flavor really stood out, which I loved. Every sip left this lingering taste of premium dark chocolate and coffee, yet it never felt heavy or overly rich. It went down so smoothly and refreshingly that I just wanted to keep drinking it. The chocolate cookie was just as impressive! It's absolutely packed with chocolate. It feels like chunks of chocolate held together by just enough cookie dough The seating area is just as lovely as the drinks. It feels like you're sitting inside a beautiful movie scene. The fresh flowers are always so thoughtfully arranged! it looks gorgeous all year round.

If you want a place that feels like a warm hug and tastes like heaven, Timothy Adam's Chocolate is it. Timothy and Adam are always there, always cheery, and genuinely the most fun and welcoming humans. You walk in and immediately feel like you belong. The chocolate almost feels like a bonus, almost. But let's be serious for a second. The dark chocolate rocky road bites are my guilty addiction. The perfect balance of nutty, sweet, and that deep, rich, slightly bittersweet dark chocolate flavor that makes you pause and go, Wow, okay, yes.Dangerous in the best way. This is my go to for all gifts. Host present, gift topper, thank you, just because treat, you name it. You truly cannot go wrong. The shop itself is stunning, the quality of the chocolate is beyond measure, and every bite is absolutely worth every penny. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor. And maybe buy two boxes, one to give, one to keep.

Really cute store! I love their color scheme. You're greeted with a display of their beautiful chocolates. I feel like I was in Wonka's. The staff was nice and answered my questions, like what is nochino? Nochino - Italian liquor made with green walnuts. It seemed super unique so I was excited! Honestly the flavor was so mild it just tasted like dark chocolate. Texture was great: the filling was like creamy chocolate truffle or ganache, and not caramel. Raspberry - This had more stronger raspberry flavor but it didn't overpower the chocolate. Good balance. $4 for a little chocolate button.

This place is decorated so intricately and it is very enticing to want to buy everything. They make everyone in house and have extensive gift sets, box sets as well as hot chocolates. I need to try the hot chocolates next time. My SO and I got the Pistachio Praline and Peruvian Dark to try out. It is stunningly delicious, rich and it is an entire experience to taste it all. We will certainly be back to try the rest.

Absolutely the best. Timothy makes amazing chocolate. They have milkshakes, ice cream, ice mocha and more. We had so much fun chatting with him!

I organized the chocolate making workshop for my team. Timothy was great! Super accommodating and flexible in scheduling. On the day of, they had everything beautifully set up and were ready with champagne and blood orange sparkling soda. The class fun super fun and the team enjoyed learning about chocolate and getting their hands dirty. The amount of chocolate we took home was substantial and I'll be eating it for a week! Timothy, Adams, Rosie, and team were amazing and really made the experience fun and unique. Definitely recommending this workshop to others!

I love hot chocolate. Timothy Adam's has different flavors of white, milk and dark hot chocolate. They also have homemade marshmallows. I didn't try the truffles but I definitely recommend the hot chocolate. We had a milk chocolate and a dark chocolate, both delicious!!! It's a bit pricey, 2 hot chocolates and one sparkling water, $32.45. Cute colorful place as you can see. They have a covered cloth white gazebo area with green tables and chairs outdoors. They are next door to a popular ramen place.

We passed by after eating at Son & Garden right next door. We were given a sample of the Peruvian dark truffle, which definitely tasted like high quality chocolate with the slight bitterness and smooth and creamy center. The beautifully decorated chocolates in the display case are about $4 each if I recall correctly. We ordered the 85% abinao (valrhona) sipping chocolate - it was also mostly sweet with only some bitterness. I recommend trying each truffle cold (sticking it into the freezer for less than 5 minutes or refrigerating for longer) in addition to at room temperature. I like doing this with every novelty food item because it makes for an interesting experience! 1. 99% dark Surprisingly sweet for being so close to pure dark chocolate. The inside was firm enough to hold its shape for a clean cut and had the texture of a softer brownie. 2. Caramelized ivory The caramel/white chocolate center is delicious! It tastes like a rich toffee (pretty much the same/similar ingredients of sugar and butter). The caramel center is softer than the 99% dark one and is well-balanced with the darker chocolate shell. 3. Ivory salted caramel This one was like a lava cake on the inside, with almost liquid caramel that spilled out as soon as it was cut. Putting it into the freezer for about 5 minutes brought out the salt. Otherwise, the white chocolate shell was a little too overpowering for the salt to shine through. 4. Coconut cream caramel This one was also goopy with huge coconut shreds. The caramel was very sweet and milky. I'm curious about whether a white chocolate shell would have worked better to enhance the sweet caramel inside, or if it would have made it way too sweet. 5. Violet This is basically just white chocolate that tastes like how violets smell...the white chocolate covers the slight bitterness well. I don't know what violets are supposed to taste like but now I also wonder how similar the rose button tastes. 6. Creme fraiche This one tastes like yogurt with the tanginess! The milk chocolate contributes a very minor flavor compared to the yogurt taste.

A beautiful chocolatier with a very aesthetic store front. Everything is made in house and what really stood out was the multiple versions of their drinking chocolates made from single origin chocolates. Very rare to see so many versions for all the different flavor profiles in your group.

The tempering also seemed off on those pieces, and the tops had a melty, uneven texture, which was disappointing. Some of the dark chocolate pieces are super delicious, but some tasted old, which wasn't good. Given my love for European chocolates, my husband got me their 16-piece dark chocolate box twice, and both times the ones with nuts weren't good - but the rest were decent and really good chocolates. Their dark chocolate collection is made from cacao from the Americas, Madagascar, and some other spots, which is a great variety. I do love their dark chocolate hot though, which is 69% cocoa, it's not too sweet, and we made it with unsweetened almond milk, which is a perfect touch of a cozy cup. I don't think I would try their dark chocolate collection again given my disappointment both times with their chocolates that has nuts in it tasting old. I wish they would fix the recipe as they have so much potential

Came here as part of a group chocolate tasting event a friend had arranged, and I was not disappointed. As you may already know, this place is a sort of temple to the long lost art of making chocolate using pre-modern agriculture and insanely-manual-labor-intensive processing, right down to removing the bean germ by hand to remove bitterness from the final product. It works btw: even when the final product is a "100%" cacao bar, it's not bitter - just intense. Somewhat oddly, most of their chocolates then add flavorings back - for example ginger or grape moonshine. I'm not sure whether to look at this as the opposite of a purist approach to chocolate, or as a loving curation of chocolate combos that is only possible with the pure-ist of chocolates - but two of the combos are fantastically successful. Namely, the ones I already mentioned: ginger and the grape moonshine powered "Ubric" which will mesmerize you long after you taste it - and which has been the subject of article length features in at least one popular magazine. If you want a souvenir it'll be almost $40 for a few ounces. Do it anyway. And follow any preparation directions to the T, e.g. bringing the chocolate up to about 80 degrees before eating it.

My family and I stopped by Marvel Cake during Mother's Day for a sweet treat on Sunday. This location is in the strip of Downtown Palo Alto and has limited parking (similar to the rest of the stores there, there is a lot of parking, and you will need to get lucky). My mom does like the Marvel Cake in their first location, so we swung by here to try this one out! Location-wise, this is a smaller shop than the original one in West San Jose with limited seating inside. I would say it's not work from home friendly however, I did see a college student next to me on her laptop so maybe I am incorrect here! The interior is nice and light, matching the elegance of the desserts. We ordered three items on the menu: the pillow cake, the bisou, and the blueberry lavender roll. Here are some thoughts: * Pillowcase cake: It may seem like this would be a fluffy cake due to the nature of its shape, but it is a gelatinous Jell-O cake with fruit jam. It was not bad, and tasted refreshing and light. I didn't know if I liked it at first, but ultimately I did come back for seconds and thirds, so this is approved. * Blueberry lavender roll cake: This was not at all what we were expecting. I did not taste any lavender, nor did it have a strong blueberry flavor. I think what threw our party off was the layer of gelatin that surrounded the cake. Texturally, we were not a big fan. * Bisou: This one was our favorite one. I appreciated the nutty crust in the bottom layer of the cake, while the filling was soft and bouncy. It is very sweet, however, but overall, I really enjoyed this one and feel like it would go great with a cup of coffee. What made the experience here a 3 instead of a 4 or 5 was the service we got. We weren't greeted when we came in, which, to be fair, is totally fine, maybe they were busy. However, the person helping us stared at us the whole time and did not really communicate well with us. When I tried to order the cakes for my family, they looked bothered that we were there, and I was not sure if they understood what pastries I was ordering because they did not repeat it back to us at all or confirm anything. When I did place the order, they slowly grabbed the plates and looked visually confused, which again, if they wanted to, I could have repeated it back to them. After they gathered everything, they put it in front of us and rang me up. The whole time, they did not say a word to me at all. Did not reconfirm anything, did not acknowledge we were there, did not say thank you. It was a bit strange, and I had to check with my family if it was me or if that was a really weird experience (it wasn't me).

Everything else about Cafe Venecia is a problem, and it has been a problem every time I've gone, including today. The outside tables are never cleared. Crumbs, coffee rings, somebody's abandoned napkin. No one comes out. Ask an employee about it and they'll point you toward a rag you're welcome to fetch and use yourself. That's the arrangement here -- you buy the coffee, you bus the table, you wipe it down, and the staff watches you do it. Today I asked for a bowl of water for my dog. The answer was no. Not "we're slammed, give me a minute," just no. So I asked whether they could put a little water in a to-go container instead, and was told, "Well, I can't give you a to-go container because we don't do them." Sit with that one. They don't do to-go containers, which means everything in the place comes in real dishware, which means the building is full of cups and bowls. They had exactly what I was asking for. They simply weren't going to hand one over, and they made sure I understood that by the tone. So: a café on University Avenue, with sidewalk seating, in a town where half the foot traffic is people walking dogs, has decided that tap water is outside its operating capabilities, and table cleaning is outside its operating capabilities, while charging Palo Alto prices is somehow well within them. There are a dozen places within three blocks that manage the coffee and the manners at the same time. Go to one of those. One star, and the star is for the beans.

But it was invisible to me. Until today, anyway. I am so happy I finally found it. Because Gourmet Works is much more than a store that sells candy and chocolate. In fact, as the name would suggest, it's more of a Gourmet food store and Gift Shop than a Chocolate Shop. But it's also a hella cool chocolate shop and that's the main reason I will be sure to return. Right when you walk in the door you are surrounded by an astonishingly large variety of items that would make the perfect gift for a loved one, or for yourself. Because, I ain't gonna lie, there were at least a dozen items that I considered buying for myself. I thought to myself, you know, I do so much for me, and it seems I rarely properly thank myself for my devoted patronage and self care. If you are interested in high quality gourmet gifts, Gourmet Works is definitely the place to go! They carry so many products you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere. Gourmet Salts, Dried Herbs, Pasta Sauces, Dried Pasta, Curry Sauces, Masala Simmer Sauce, Special Preserves and Jams. An impressive, well-curated selection. Then, at the back of the store you find the kind of Chocolate display case that dreams are made of. Oh my Lord! Just the Truffle side alone would be enough to melt anyone's heart. But the other side, with the astonishing variety of hand dipped chocolates is where I lost it. I saw the Almond Bark and stopped dead in my tracks. I stared at that Almond Bark. The Almond Bark stared back at me. We were locked into that stare down for what seemed like an eternity. I was sure neither of us would ever give in. But then I blinked. Somehow I became aware that the wonderful woman behind the counter was asking me if she could help me. As I regained my senses, suddenly I felt so embarrassed. How long had I been staring at that Almond Bark? How many times had she tried to get my attention? I had no idea. I tried to play it off like there was nothing going on between me and that Almond Bark. I casually inquired about some Chocolate Covered Caramels with Sea Salt on a totally different shelf in the display case. Then, of course, I had to buy a couple of those Chocolate Covered Carmels with Sea Salt, to cover up the whole situation with me and the Almond Bark. I purchased a couple ordinary, un-chocolate covered Caramels with Sea Salt too. The woman behind the counter couldn't have been more gracious. She didn't let on that she knew exactly what was happening and I wasn't fooling anyone with the whole Chocolate Covered Caramels with Sea Salt charade. So, my thanks to Gourmet Works, and the gracious woman behind the counter, Padmaja (her family owns Gourmet Works). It was such a pleasure to shop at your wonderful store! Mikey C says: I'm coming back for you, Almond Bark!
