Fleur De Pistache ~ Pistachio mousse, with a raspberry cream inside on top Pistachio cake ~ sumptuous!!
    Elizabeth S.

I don't go seeking out dessert at all unless amongst friends. There are so many exquisite offerings to eat and drink. If you want a fancy coffee, pastry, dessert or more the upscale experience and quality is parallel to the "Alexander" brand of their steakhouses and seafood restaurant. These are some fine desserts and that Pistachio mousse was several layers of sumptuous sweet flavors. I'm glad to have shared it. Too rich for one to consume alone. Now that I know Alexander's has a bakery, I will be getting the next birthday cake here! I do look forward to indulging one evening after dinner also.

I had always wanted to try Alexander's Patisserie but every time I've walked in, I never saw anything that I wanted to lock in on. This changed when I found out that they started serving salt bread. I went in with high expectations, especially with the branding of this bakery. To order, you need to go on their website to designate a time for pick-up. The part that was not seamless was with the actual pick-up; they have a sign right when you walk in for pick-ups but none of the workers were paying attention to that area. After 5 minutes of waiting with zero eye contact or help from any of the workers, I went over to the cash register area and asked one of the workers who didn't seem to be occupied with anything. When I grabbed the bag from her, I immediately noticed that it wasn't warm or hot to the touch, which was a bit concerning. I got 2 of their garlic herb salt bread and was expecting them to be made-to-order, or at least warmed up, hence why there is a designated pick-up and mandatory mobile order process? I'm not sure if maybe they are supposed to be eaten cold, or if they required a heat-up, however there were no explicit instructions to do so if they should have been. In terms of the taste, it was fine, but just tasted like a cold buttery garlic bread. Nothing spectacular per se. I also ordered the white peach juice and although it was grabbed from the fridge, it leaned more on being lukewarm. It definitely tasted like it was made with real ingredients but I expected more of the white peach nectarine to peak through. Not worth it for the price imo ($6.50). Overall, the experience and service themselves would make me hesitant to come back.

Very cute place with gorgeous-looking pastries and a bit of nice seating inside, though a small shop. Employees were a delight to speak to. Ordered a garlic herb salt bread and mochi croissant. Bread was super lacklustre, not with the price. The mochi croissant crust was fantastic but the filling was way over the top. I'd likely go back to try more items. This visit did not blow me away, though.

Downtown Mountain is lucky to have a select group of high quality cafes, including Alexander's Pattisserie. Today, I enjoyed their new menu item, the Crossaint Burger for lunch. WOW! Great service and the high quality you'd expect t here. Hidden gem alert

I've been stuck at home with a bum leg for over a week, so I decided to treat myself to breakfast delivery from Alexander's Patisserie in downtown Mountain View, which I'd never tried before. I ordered an apple croissant, banana chocolate croissant, kouign-amann, baguette sandwich, and an iced mocha. It took a while for my breakfast to arrive. The iced mocha was warm because the ice had melted, but it was easy enough to fix with ice from my freezer. I'm pretty sure it had no coffee in it, just oat milk and hazelnut dark chocolate, which was perfect in my book. I drank it fast. It was my first time trying a kouign-amann, and I'm still not sure what all the fuss is about. After a couple of bites I moved on to the apple croissant, which had almond cream and a cinnamon apple compote in it. It was delicious, and I loved that it wasn't overly sweet. Next was the banana chocolate croissant. I was disappointed when I cut it in half and saw how little chocolate there was inside of it, but once I tasted it I realized it was just right. The bananas and almond cream were very, very sweet. It was scrumptious with powdered sugar and sliced almonds on top. Later in the day I tried the baguette sandwich, which had Brie, sliced apples, jambon, arugula, mustard, and garlic aioli on it. It was good at first, but then I had to remove the Brie because it overwhelmed the rest of the sandwich. The apple tasted great, but I pretty much love anything with apples on it. All in all it was an interesting breakfast and I'd gladly return to try more of their sandwiches and desserts.

Alexander's Patisserie sits on Castro Street where there are so many different restaurants and stores to explore so you can really make use of your time here. Once you step inside it feels like you're transported to a cute little Parisian patisserie. The interior is elegant and relaxing and the staff are friendly. We ordered the Fleur de Pistache and a mango pastry which I believe is called a Mango croissant but I honestly forgot (it may also be seasonal). Beautiful presentation so 10/10 for that. As for flavor the Fleur de Pistache was good - texture was great but I do wish it had a heavier pistachio flavor. The Mango croissant was crispy and fresh. Both items weren't overly sweet which is what I look for in pastries/desserts so I appreciate that. I didn't get a coffee this time around so I can't speak on that, but I'll be back again to try the coffee and their other pastries. Overall, it was a great experience and worth the visit!

The pastries are almost too beautiful to eat. Almost... My latest visit to Alexander's Patisserie, my friends ordered several items for us to share. I liked the lemon yuzu tart the best. Looking back, I reviewed the Cupertino location and gave them 3 stars and rate this location the same. A+ on the presentation, but the taste (ok) and high prices take off some points for me. The tables inside were all packed with others that had set up shop long term with their laptop. Luckily, I stalked some people outside and managed to grab us a bench although it was windy and freezing outside.

All the dessert are very elegant and made with great details. They're almost too pretty to eat and great for taking pictures. They are expensive - $15 each, definitely not cheap and overpriced, IMO. Got a box of half a dozen macaroons and they are very good. Also order a lavender-flavor tea. Both the lavender and tea flavor is very weak, almost tastes like water. The decor is nice and seating is comfortable. It's a great place tables for people to hang out. Some tables are not cleaned though. Wish the staff would clean the tables more regularly.

Over the last few years, I've been here a few times whenever I'm in the area for work. Always found their matcha croissant to be delightful, but forgot to review AP whenever I stopped by back then. Well I came back last week after work on a particularly rough evening. It was my birthday and I was spending it alone in a hotel room since I'm from SoCal. And embarrassingly, I did end up admitting this to the person assisting me with picking a sweet treat for myself. He unquestioningly took it all in and started suggesting some sweets for me. All his recommendations were helpful and I appreciated the kindness he showed me. The Coffee Rose was like eating a Ferrero Rocher in cake form. I didn't think I'd finish it in one go, but while decadent, it's not overly sweet. I'll come back everytime I'm in the area!

Came by for some dessert the other day and it was a decent experience. Parking is available on residential streets around Castro. The inside of the bakery feels high end. Opted for a tiramisu and it looked great. The tiramisu itself was different. The lady finger was swapped out with a moist chocolate cake. The cocoa powder on top was also different. Staff were courteous.

I've been to Alexander's Patisserie multiple times over the years, it's definitely a hallmark of downtown Mountain View. They have pretty consistent quality when it comes to their pastries and drinks and it's a cute cafe. This was my first time doing their afternoon tea experience. In the bay area I'd say the price falls between mid-high compared to other places I've been. You have to make reservations on tock and pay ahead of time. We paid $167 after tax and gratuity for 2 people. Onto the experience... The presentation here is beautiful. Upon sitting down they keep a chest with samples of their teas so you can smell them. The tea quality here is actually much nicer than I expected. I absolutely loved their black tea with bergamot, the bergamot flavor was perfect. Our server brought out our tiered tower with treats and walked us through all of them. We liked everything, especially the pastries on top. The christmas tree mont blanc was my favorite! My only criticism was the lack of attentiveness from our waitress. She mentioned she would check on hs later so we could try other teas but she never did. Granted it was a little busy, but I got up and flagged her in the end. I would do tea here again, but it's definitely a splurge!

I love love the vanilla tart. A great patisserie to stop by after dinner to get a little sweet treat. Good location and service. Parking might be a bit hard since it's downtown during peak hours, but we never had much issue.

It was covered in chocolate and filled with custard, and it was just the right sweetness and not too sweet. The size was pleasing, and the custard filling was good. The cake was not enjoyable; to be fair, this might or might not be due to personal taste. It was a 3-layer vanilla cake filled with lemon mousse, covered in buttercream and white chocolate bark pieces, and topped with 10 blueberries. This flavor can be found on their website catalog. I don't know if this is typical for this bakery, but the cake was heavy, claggy on the bottom, and way too sweet. The lemon mousse tasted incredibly strange, as if it were artificial or maybe had some kind of herb or weird flavoring added. The less said about the cream, the better. The white chocolate was quite good though. I saw they had a wide variety of cake offerings, but I don't think I'd want cake from here again. I might get the choux pastry again.

Came here to see how their Burnt Almond Cake compares to Peter's Bakery! This place has tons of…read moreother delicious pastries and cakes to choose from. The space feels super cozy and service was friendly. They even mentioned their Burnt Almond Cake has always been their bestseller. First bite tasted heavenly. This had more stronger almond and Italian rum flavor and I was pleasantly surprised by the sugared almond slivers coating. The custard was absolutely generous, creamy, and divine. I'd say Peter's Bakery is more traditional, but more fluffier while Sugar Butter Flour has a more modern twist and is slightly sweeter. Their version definitely has more custard, which I personally enjoy... but this may be too sweet for the older Asian parents family. I'd love to come back to try their cookies and other pastries next time. Their Burnt Almond Cake is to die for and would love to buy another one when I'm in the area. I want this to be my upcoming birthday cake!

Look at the picture. The dome of the cake was never leveled and no attempt made to level the layers with custard so I'm paying for a cake that I could've made with premade cake mix and 5% custard? We called in and the worker confirmed there are supposed to be two layers of custard in the Burnt Almond and advised me to email the owner so they could make it right. Look at the next photo. How do you as an owner - instead of simply admitting this was a rushed, dry, and unleveled cake - tell me in one message that the recipe changed because other customers had been complaining about too much custard but that you would be returning back to the original recipe? What am I, 5 years old? Just own up and say someone messed up and you'll keep the quality of your products up - but I guess that's hard to do when you ignore your long timecustomers and already got $70 for a cake that's 95% bread. I mentioned to the owner that their worker stated there would be some closure/resolve to which the owner just stopped responding. Guess when you can't be honest with your customers you...ignore them?

I had ordered my dad's birthday cake from here back in 2024 (salted yolk/pork sung/matcha mix…read morecake), and it was absolutely delicious! This time I decided to stop by here after dinner, my first time sitting down here and ordering. The inside is very clean, modern, and Pinterest-like. They added more decorations and seating from 2 years ago, making the inside more aesthetic. whaT's More always has unique Asian flavors, like durian, earl grey, pandan, red bean, and oolong. The cakes are not too sweet, so definitely Asian parent approved haha! Unfortunately, when we came around 6:30pm, they were sold out of most flavors - so would definitely recommend coming earlier or just ordering online earlier in the morning for pickup. We got the sesame dark chocolate crepe cake. When you eat in the store, the owner provides you with free cups of tea, which are really great for washing down the cake. The chocolate was super rich, and they did not skimp out on the flavor - super chocolatey. The sesame added such a fun earthy and nutty flavor - I thoroughly enjoyed it! The cake is on the slightly denser side, so was super filling. While on the pricier side, the flavors are super unique and the craft that goes into crepe cakes is commendable. I will be ordering my next cake from here again!

The place was situated in a quiet plaza just outside of Lawrence Expressway. There's ample parking but it doesn't feel like the location is suitable for a cafe where you can picture sitting inside looking through some big windows facing a busy pedestrian walkway. However, once I stepped inside, I was surprised at how zen and peaceful the decorations were and how fitting it was for a cozy and quiet cafe hangout. The cake shelf was surprisingly busy. And this is where I took one star out because the lines were confusing and the staff skipped me to talk to the group behind me while I was clearly the next to be helped. Luckily another staff member came out from the back kitchen and jumped in to help. The staff spoke fluent mandarin. I was interested in their box cakes. A few of the yelpers raved about their soy milk cake and luckily they had one out for sampling. It was covered with lots of cream and the cake layer was soft and moist, but it was still slightly too sweet for me and I felt that it lacked the tofu kind of soy flavor. Then, I spotted on their menu that they have a black sesame matcha box cake, and black sesame is always my favorite, so I asked for it. They had the last one left! The staff said she had never tried it so she couldn't tell me if it is less sweet than the soy milk cake. Since it was the last one available and I already sampled the soy cake, I decided to give it a try. I am happy that I did. The cake was filled with matcha mousse and tasted light and aromatic with the jasmine kind of matcha flavor. It is definitely less sweet. Unfortunately, it doesn't have as much black sesame as I'd like. But overall, the cake flavor is the kind that I like, subtle, moist, and not too sweet. $38 for a box cake of 4x4 is a bit pricey, but I'm glad that I gave it a try. The cakes were freshly made and tasted best the same day of purchase. They also recommend refrigerating the cake and consuming it within a day or two.

They had a display of baked items at the window and a Chalkboard sign. I saw a ham and cheese croissant and was immediately sold. The young man worked at the window was polite and welcoming. I had time to kill but wasn't too hungry so naturally I ate something ‍ BEST HAM AND CHEESE CROISSANT I HAVE HAD IN SOMETIME! No, really. It's simple but easily messed up by most places that have them. Flaky, ham was thin and broke apart easily, the cheese and inner soft portion mixed together was superb. I sat quietly and munched! I overheard regulars saying it was unusually quiet and not the norm? Regardless it was peaceful! Shades triangles above the picnic table, the side under the tree was occupied but I was happy where I was. I'm going to have to return with my wife at some point and even when I'm in the area I'll make it a point to stop over.

We went at 9am, there is simply no excuse. We had to do a detour through Manresa to save our brunch and had to buy everything again. Unless i hear back and get a compensation for our almost $40 spend our business with you guys is sadly over.

Nice location - lots of parking and we love to have found a Vietnamese coffee place. I typically get the egg coffee but decided to go with their new Peanut Butter Latte and I'm so glad I did. It comes already with oat milk which is perfect. I will say - for the large the ratio on cream to coffee was little off. I'd prefer less of the cream and more coffee but it was still delicious and refreshing - not too sweet and had a lot of the PB flavor. Hubby got the Pandan Matcha. He loved it - though it was a bit too sweet for him so he waited for the ice to melt a bit. Not sure if we could have adjusted the sweetness. Youngest got the Banana Latte and devoured it quickly. Fair to say I think she really enjoyed it! Nice that they are so close to us now. Will definitely be one of our go to for Vietnamese coffee!!

We met up and since I'm a big fan of peanut butter and based on the reviews, I ordered a cold Peanut Butter Latte. It was delicious and refreshing. I think I finished it in 2 minutes! My friend ordered the Peach Mango fruit tea and she said it was very good. The one thing to note is that seating is limited, both inside and outside. It's in a shopping mall so perhaps taking it to go either before or after a shopping excursion could be a good idea.
