Came here on a Saturday morning and there was quite a bit of people sitting outdoor with family and friends drinking their coffees. This place is known for its European like ambiance. They even have a sign outdoor that says "computer free area" so it's not intended to be a study or work spot. My boyfriend got a cappuccino which he really enjoyed and I got their morocchino which was chocolatey but strong. This is definitely not one of those trendy specially iced lattes place so don't come in thinking you'll get a sugary drink. Service was straightforward. After getting an espresso, I started working on a problem when I realized the gym would close soon. I left the problem half-way then went to the gym, had some dinner and decided to go back. I had checked this place's hours multiple times before. Everywhere it is listed open till 11:00pm when I checked. I got there. none of the original baristas I originally saw were there anymore. This was the difference of less than 4 hours. I highly doubt they'd have a separate shift change after 6:35pm. Regardless, there was a tall blonde guy with a permenant hanger-like smile on his face. He looked friendly, but later I realized he is a pig with a permanent smile. I went to the side I originally had wanted to sit at to grab a seat. Thie guy that was grabbing the chairs asked me something normal. I asked him if they were still open till 11:00. He said they were closing at 10:00 and pointed to a sign. I didn't notice the sign at all before and I checked online to see how late they were open and it was listed since 11:00pm so I asked him how long they had that sign. He said it was nearly a year. Then I was going to ask something else when the blond guy with hanger smile starting talking to me like I was a two year old. Spelling out C - L - O - S - E - D. I told him I was not talking to him and I was talking to the other guy. The other guy suddenly also got defensive. They both looked at me like I was out of my mind to not allow a conversation to be interrupted. Then they both started yelling at me without me raising my voice first. They started yelling at me and at each other something about private property....(I was standing on the sidewalk when the hanger smile guy started yelling to me out of nowhere about private property.) Then he started pointing his finger at me and yelling. They both started yelling and I yelled you will not point your finger at me and pointed my finger back at him. Then a "customer" walked from inside and said hey hey hey you're touching him. I was not touching anybody. This all happened incredibly quickly. Then a third guy jumped out of the store. He was very short as an appearance characteristic. He was quick to jump out as if ready to pick and continue a fight. This all happened too quick for me to be naturally ganged up by four violent men. He started yelling some things and he had this sick pleasure look in his face every time he yelled something utterly stupid at me. Then he proceeded to threaten me with calling the cops when four men started a fight with me out of NOWHERE and acted like sick violent pigs at 10:00pm. I walked away then he proceeded to follow me and threaten and yell. I walked back and told him if he comes one step closer to me I will hit him with my scooter. He stopped coming closer but kept yelling. Then he yelled something at me saying something something something something stupid something cat. I left the pigs as they were and went on my way. The entire time they were crying about private property they had the sickest smile of pure pleasure on their faces. It was absolutely disgusting to witness. They should all be in jail and not having a job. read more

Stopped by around 5pm for drinks while waiting to meet a friend for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by how good the Aperol spritz was. I ordered two and they are honestly one of the best spritz I've had outside of Italy, and even better, more affordable than many other places in the area. The balance of Aperol, sparkling wine, and sparkling water was spot on. Not overly sweet, not too bitter, just crisp and refreshing the way it should be. I sat on the outdoor patio people watching, and it honestly made me feel like I was in Europe. Relaxed atmosphere, great drinks, and a perfect spot to unwind before dinner. What's with the attitude with the person behind the counter? We came in the early evening for a quick dessert as we were waiting for our reservation across the street and we planned to indulge more post dinner. We chose the lemon ricotta cheesecake, while the cheesecake itself was nice with the right amount of citrus the attitude of the person was awful, first when I asked for extra spoons he mentioned that they have a policy of only 2 spoons per dessert (had handed only one to begin with). Since the dessert were good the first time, we went ahead to round 2 of desserts post dinner and that is when the rudeness really shines! We got chocospice and mocha. Both were amazing! Very smooth and rich and yet not very sweet. I actually prefer this kind of chocolate than the hot chocolate at Dandelion: easier to drink and digest. We visited Cafe Venetia over the weekend. Tired from all the walking around and search for parking. The last we visited Cafe Venetia was back in 2021 and I'm happy to report, it is still the great cafe it was back in 2021. We had a slice of the Almond Cake (I forgot what it was called) as well as the Chocospice and Cappucino Viennese. Cake: It was tasty, it was dense and it was really good. A slice was enough for 4 adults to taste and savour the deliciousness. Chocospice: Hot chocolate you say? It was more like a tasty chocolate and milk syrup. It was heavy and delectable. I'd definitely come back for more. Cappuchino Viennese: The smooth coffee, the creamy whipped cream (not sweet, just perfect) and the chocolate powder was simply marvelous. It is the whole package. The coffee was just smooth and makes you want to keep sipping it again and again. Service: Top notch, the baristas were awesome and witty. Ambiance: I've never been to EU but comparing the ambiance to a traditional European cafe (googled it), looks convincing to me. All in all - Full 5 stars for me. The most awful customer service experience one could imagine. Our coffee arrived lukewarm so we kindly asked to have it remade. They refused and told us it was our fault for not asking for extra hot. Things devolved from there and they made us feel harassed and antagonized. I've been coming to cafe Venetia for 16 years and have really enjoyed it but this experience and the harassment was completely unacceptable.
