Thai tea treat!
Lisa P.

Hands down the best microcreamery in the Bay Area. Delicious and a perfect treat to make any day special. Love the cardamom and ginger. The Thai tea is also out of this world. Cones are made fresh and are addictively good. If you are in Palo Alto, Scoop is not to be missed.

Cardamom ginger. Matcha green tea and ube
Sho R.

I had a 3 flavors bowl of ice cream from here. They had an interesting variety of fllavors. Matcha green tea was my favorite flavor. Ube was good as well. Cardamom ginger was an interesting flavor, but should have more punch.

I like the taro and coffee flavor. It's always crowded whenever I walked cross this store in Palo Alto, are they popular among locals?

Grasshopper.. is my new goto..

Yall cramming into that place down the steeet with all the oddball weirdo flavors... licorice?? let me tell you what, I have hit the Motherlode, and it is called Grasshopper. This mint and brownie ice cream has blown my top. I like mint fine enough.. and you have to be able to bear it to like this, but it's really about the brownie/cookie goodness that is mixed in it. I have gone back once and will be back again! Tasted the young coconut, also good.

Service was great. Easy to get Mitchell's ice cream here vs the city. Clean and inviting spot.

Nutella & pistachio
Kelly M.

We had a good experience at Scoop Microcreamery. Based on the previous reviews, the ability to get samples has varied in the past. When I asked, the server told me we could taste up to two flavors, which I find to be reasonable. The ice cream is Mitchell's from San Francisco, and it is good quality. We each got two scoops in a cup, and there is a good variety of flavors to choose from. I got Nutella and pistachio and my husband got bourbon vanilla and Grasshopper pie, which is a mint flavor with chocolate cookies pie crust mixed in. The shop is small and has no inside seating. The few tables and chairs outside the shop were taken, so we took our ice cream to the open area across the street, where we found seating available.

Adorable ice-cream and sorbet shop with incredible hard to come unique flavors, e.g. lychee :-) Plus a host of chocolate toffee butter rum praline etc flavor profile for those like my husband who loves those. For me, I have a penchant for fruit stuff, which they also have. Their artisan style is creamy and decadent. Customer service excellent and efficient; it's on the main drag and parking can be challenging. Prices are fair.

Ube & Thai Tea, Espresso Toffee Crunch & Black Sesame

A myriad of flavors to choose from and they did not slack on the Asian flavors. Workers were cool and the ice cream was tasty. Pretty strong too.

Flight of ice cream
Tiffany L.

Some people do flights of beer, this place offers a flight of ice cream and it was worth it. Why? Where else can you try different types of ice cream without huge guilt over calories? Seriously though, staff was nice (although I have to know why it's called crazy Jen's brownie...what did Jen do to be labeled crazy?). My favorite was the Cardamon Ginger but the bourbon vanilla was just as good. Prices are fair. Highly recommend.

We split an ice cream flight because there were a ton of flavors to choose from. We got Oreo, bourbon vanilla, peanut butter, brownie, and banana. The bourbon vanilla was super alcohol forward. Other flavors were okay but wish there was more Oreo chunks and stronger peanut butter flavor.

Myra A.

This little ice cream shop is so cute! They have so many unique flavors from Thai tea, ube, and pumpkin to cardamom ginger and black sesame flavors you won't find at your regular ice cream parlor. Rodrigo was really nice and gave us great customer service. He let us try different flavors, which I really appreciated. We ended up going with their pumpkin and espresso toffee crunch, and both flavors went really well together. If you're in the area, it's worth stopping by.

Lychee + Red Raspberry Sorbet (w/ Watermelon Sorbet "see you later")
Ethan C.

We stopped by here on a summer Saturday night looking for an icecreamy dessert. I would scoop this place up onto your dessert list because this is one of our new favorite icecream spots! We got two scoops of the Lychee + Red Raspberry Sorbet in a cup. Lychee (4/5): This one is really unique, when was the last time you tasted a creamy lychee? It's thick with heavy dairy content and so heavenly creamy that it'll just melt into a spoonful of opaque white liquid in your mouth! The sorta artificial-tasting lychee flavor vibrantly bursts through the sturdy notes of milkiness in the icecream. Rich yet refreshing! Red Raspberry Sorbet (5/5): This one has that desirable icy snow texture of a good sorbet paired with a tart, bright fruity flavor of fresh raspberries picked straight from grandma's backyard. A little bit sweet, but tastes pretty natural. Very enjoyable! Note that they don't do samples here -- instead, they have a "see you later", which is basically they'll give you a complementary fat sample scoop of another flavor AFTER you order. It's a bit unusual since the whole point of samples is to make sure you choose a flavor you like, but hey at least it makes the line move faster without that one person trying twenty different samples and still having trouble deciding which flavor to choose. The worker who served us was also super nice and friendly, even taking time to offer taking a photo of us when she noticed we were taking photos of our icecream inside. Overall, would definitely recommend giving this spot a try if you're around Palo Alto!

Peach mango sorbet with gummy bears
Ashwini A.

SERVICE - located off of university avenue in downtown Palo Alto - parking available on streets or in nearby lots - be prepared to wait in a long line especially during peak hours - no sampling - limited outdoor seating MENU - unique selection of ice creams and sorbets - average price ($6 per scoop) FOOD - peach mango sorbet (6/10): this tastes like the peach ring candy but does not have a strong mango flavor. It was a little icy which made it melt into juice on the hot summer day. WOULD I GO BACK? I would hope that they make more inventive vegan ice creams that are not just sorbets before I go back.

Grasshopper with house made hot fudge and dulce de leche with house made caramel and heath bar crumble, both with whip!

We always ask for a table with chairs because I have back problems and can't sit in their totally worn booths and the host has never had a problem with that request. But yesterday the regular host wasn't there and we were told they were busy and we had to sit at the counter or in a booth because they didn't want to put us the two of us at a table for four (there were two tables available). We waited for nearly ten minutes and when I asked again if we could sit at one of the tables was almost rudely told no, they were busy. So we left and went to Joanie's on California Avenue. They were also busy but immediately seated us and we had a much better lunch. Sometimes it's good to change things up as we'd forgotten how kind and attentive all the of the staff are at Joanie's and how much better the food was. And both of our plates of food came out hot and perfectly cooked which doesn't always happen at the Creamery. I guess we just eat there for the memories. My husband said none of the staff at the Creamery seem happy except for the host so if we don't see him seating the guests, we'll just go to Joanie's.

Pinkberry is a counter-service frozen yogurt shoppe located on the El Camino Real side of the mall. The small, but clean venue is compact, likely with a maximum occupancy of about thirty persons in the customer area. At peak times, especially during warm days, the compact store can get crowded, which can impact customer comfort and the overall experience, especially with only about two to three tables available for outdoor seating. The menu offers refreshing COLD BREW FRUIT TEAS, fresh fruit smoothies, rotating seasonal flavours of frozen yogurt, and a variety of toppings from cereal to fruit to Nutella. While they have a wide selection of toppings, they stick to a small menu of froyo flavours, one of which is always dairy-free. Classic flavours that are permanent residents are original and chocolate hazelnut. If you are indecisive over which yogurt flavour(s) to choose, the staff will happily provide small samples to taste. Z and V almost always go for the chocolate hazelnut over the tart fruit flavours. The STRAWBERRY HIBISCUS COLD BREW FRUIT TEA is also a delightful drink. I stood there the entire time, yet somehow four other takeout orders were fulfilled before mine, and even two walk-in customers received the exact same item I had orderer plus extra add-ons. When I followed up, instead of apologizing or trying to fix the situation, the cashier gave me attitude and claimed she "never saw me," which is simply not true. There was zero accountability. I was then told I could either wait another 15 minutes or take an empty cup with low-quality yogurt -- followed by "what do you want me to do about it?" That response was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. Mistakes happen, but the way this was handled with dismissiveness and no effort to make it right is unacceptable. As a loyal customer, I expected much better service and basic courtesy. I left feeling frustrated and disrespected, and I'll seriously reconsider coming back.
