Visible chunks of glue binding multiple lashes together.

I came here for a full set of eyelash extensions. I've gotten these done multiple times before, but only at a place in Seattle. While I really like the people and the atmosphere here, my results were not very good. I had glue leak into both eyes during the session, eyelashes ripped out in the process, and ultimately, there was waaaaay to much lash glue residue all over my lashes. I know how properly done lashes are supposed to feel, having maintained a full set for over a year at one point. The lashes should be completely free of residue and soft to the touch. These are the exact opposite. Stiff, brittle and sticky, covered in chunks and wanting to stick together (many actually are stuck together.) I came home and immediately tried to clean up my lashes with oil (a HUGE no-no if you want these to last, but I don't.) The girl was really nice and offered to fix or change anything I wanted, but tbh, I'm not inclined to come back in. My plan is to carefully remove these myself after the wedding next weekend. Shame, because it set me back $180 plus tip. I've added a pic of the result AFTER I removed as many chunks of glue as possible myself at home (see the giant brown eyeball closeup). I should have taken a pic prior to my attempt to clean them up, but as you can see, they are still a bit chunky and stuck together, and they still feel like sandpaper. UPDATE: The extensions became more and more uncomfortable each day I had them, but I decided to wait until after my mom's wedding to attempt to remove them. I did not quite realize how bad they were until now. There are natural lashes stuck together and fake lashes stuck together - as many as five lashes all glued together in big chunks. I could see where several lashes had fallen out naturally, but were unable to escape the large chunks of glue that bound them to the lashes around them, creating hanging chads of dead lashes everywhere. I've tried to loosen everything up with jojoba oil and carefully remove the dead lashes, but this has resulted in ripping out three or four other lashes caught in the rats' nest of lash glue each attempt. I had decent natural lashes before I came into this salon. Now, I'll be lucky if i have enough left to justify putting on mascara. I could cry right now. I contacted the salon about my experience several days ago, and they have not bothered to get back to me. My advice: avoid this place. LAST UPDATE: I have been playing phone tag with the owner for weeks, but I keep missing him. I even showed up once with a ziplock bag full of the wads of glued together lashes to show him, but he wasn't there, and no one else could help me "rectify my situation". The funny thing is, these people seem to think I need to talk to the lash technician who botched the job, as if this is just a mere misunderstanding that could be cleared up with an apology. I have ZERO interest in letting her within 10 feet of what's left of my eyelashes. I paid $200 and walked out looking like Madonna, only to lose HALF of my natural lashes due to her negligence. The only way they could right this horrible wrong is by giving me a refund and assurance that they are going to see to it that she is PROPERLY retrained, but it apparently has to be at their convenience to see me, and if they were going to refund me, they would have just authorized anyone to do it instead of forcing me to jump through hoops. I've included a final picture of my ravaged lashes with this update.

    My manicure. Thanks Margaret!

I didn't feel awkward at all even though it was my first time and the girls were all very upbeat and talkative (which I love). Scheduling the appointment was easy and I did it over the phone. They have good COVID-19 procedures and the salon was clearly clean and well kept. Now for the most important part... I had gone in with hip length hair and wanted a drastic change after being in quarantine for so long. My hair is 2c wavy/curly, so I'm always pretty hesitant about letting people cut my hair, but Karatrina put me at ease by going over my style goals at the start of the appointment. I wanted shoulder length hair so it would be easier for me to manage my hair. She explained what she was doing at each point and also shared stuff about her own life. I was very comfortable and felt like I have been going to this salon for years. I ended up styling my hair myself when I got home because curly hair is just tricky to style, but she did diffuse my hair so I didn't leave with wet hair! I am more than pleased with my hair! I love the lightweight feel of it! Thank you Karatrina! I'll be setting up another appointment with you when my hair needs another cut!

I got my hair trimmed recently. It was my first (and now last) time at Envy. I mostly chose this…read moreplace due to the convenience of scheduling an appointment online, but the reviews were also promising. The lady who trimmed my hair did a decent job and was nice. My review, however, is for an atrocious experience I had with the owner, Brandi Wilson. My sister's first time at Envy didn't go as well as mine. Someone there attempted a balayage that... Well, let's just say she's had to spend hundreds of dollars correcting at other salons. Unsure of how the refund process works, she took me with her to speak with the manager about it. Ms. Wilson was with a client when we walked in. Awkwardly, my sister had to explain her situation while Ms. Wilson washed another lady's hair. She barely looked at us and acted like we were an annoying distraction from her work. Nevertheless, my sister kindly explained that the stylist didn't use the freehand painting technique that one uses for a proper balayage. Instead, she used foils from root to tip, all over, which resulted in chunky highlights that didn't naturally blend in. It was not a balayage in any way, shape, or form. (Picture attached.) Ms. Wilson saw that picture and didn't see anything wrong with it. She responded, first, with a lecture on what balayage is in an effort to discredit us - with misinformation, no less. She said balayage "isn't necessarily a technique" - no, it is a technique. That's literally what it is, what makes it special in the first place - the unique application. The more she talked about it, the more ignorant and patronizing she came across. She told us we have to talk to the stylist and that she could give us the stylist's number. All well and good. But then she left us standing there and continued picking apart my sister's complaint. She kept saying unhelpful, inflammatory things like, "Well if you'd talked to [the stylist] first maybe she would've fixed your hair for free." I don't know if she was in a bad mood or what, but she wanted to argue. Understandably I was irritated by this, but I stayed calm. I said we didn't want the original stylist to fix my sister's hair. Ms. Wilson acted like she had been personally attacked. She raised her voice and became visibly angry, demanding, "What do you want me to do?" I tried to say we just wanted the stylist's number but she kept talking over me. It made us very uncomfortable, so I had to tell her to chill. She seriously needed to calm down; there was no need for her to get defensive and escalate the situation. Instead, she lost it. She started yelling. She told us to leave before she called the police. She shouted, and I quote, "Exit my fricken business!" I was beyond done and going to leave, but we still needed the stylist's number for a refund. So I asked her, calmly, "Could you please give us [the stylist's] contact information?" I thought it was a reasonable request. Still enraged, she snapped, "You know what? Find it online." (We have this exchange on video, by the way.) Admittedly I did call her a name right before I left, but it was my only act of aggression in the whole mess and, frankly, she deserved it after the way she treated us. I will be doing what Ms. Wilson said and staying out of her "fricken" business for good. I'm telling everyone I know to avoid Envy as well. There are better salons in the area that are professional, friendly, and highly skilled - Tease and Ross Michaels comes to mind. Ms. Wilson needs to work on basic customer service skills because this does not bode well for any business. As the owner you represent your entire salon, your staff - even if they are independent contractors. You need to treat customers with care and respect. Don't be condescending. Don't make excuses. A little empathy goes a long way. Doing a little research on balayage wouldn't hurt, either.

Mother of the groom up do, and the photographer asks for us to come earlier. I tried calling to request for an earlier appointment. Without a receptionist I leave a message but decide to drive in. All stylists were with a client, but was asked if I had an appointment. I told them my situation, and they informed me my stylist wouldn't be available until my appointed time. I apologized as they were all with clients, but asked if they could call my stylist. They said no, the stylist was with her mom who has health issues and was only coming in for my appointment, but asked if I wanted to cancel. I said no, I'd figure it out. I received a text from the stylist saying she could cancel if I'd like. As I continued to see how I could coordinate with the photographer before responding, I then get a text from the salon stating that I was disrespectful and they were canceling my appointment. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't pleased they weren't going to take the time to call the other stylist as I had requested (but obviously they did do), but by no means was I disrespectful. I understand and wish the best for the stylist and her ailing mom, but it seems apparent the stylist didn't want to keep the appointment and the salon personnel are quick to cancel out of convenience. Poor people and business practice. I highly discourage future patrons
