I recently went in to the new location across the street to try out the mani/pedi station that tempted me through the window every time I drove by. The new nail artist, Margaret, is great - you can tell she actually enjoys her job. The massaging chairs are relaxing, and my pedicure was thorough: soak, scrub, light massage, shaping, and polish. I was equally happy with the mani, which included a pressure point massage of the hands. Some of the polish on my toes peeled off sooner than normal, but my mani lasted three days without chipping (a long time for me). All in all it was a great experience for the price. I was so impressed with a friend's haircut I HAD to go to her stylist. Although this salon is a good 40 minute drive from me I was willing to go for it as my regular stylist was moving cross country and I always cringe at the thought of finding someone new. Jean -Marie is very personable and knowledgeable in her craft and I was pleased with the first appointment and cut. She was emphatic when I was leaving that I come back in two weeks so she could trim the bangs and neck so her cut always looks neat and styled. She was adamant that I not try and do any trimming myself as "she could tell". She said she provides these trims free of charge to her customers. Well, I made an appointment on The salon's website and despite the distance and an unexpected snow storm I made it to my appointment only to be told by Timothy, the owner that Jean-Marie wasn't coming in. No phone call!!! No notice!! And a sheepish apology by the owner Timothy that he couldn't fit me in for a ten minute trim. I gave Jean-Marie another chance - having to book a haircut now not a trim (the prices are high $70.00) The cut was ok, no apology though when I mentioned she should call if she can't make it as I have a far drive. Now to today and why I was driven to write. Once again I made the appointment for a trim and once again a no show or warning by Jean-Marie and no attempt by the salon owner to make a client happy. I will never go back. It isn't worth the aggravation - one always hopes to feel better after a day at the salon. Doesn't happen here. read more

I made an appointment to get my hair done early in the morning so I knew what time to take off work. I ended up waiting 30 minutes after my appointment before they started on my hair. This upset me since I had to take leave and I had to be somewhere after my hair was done; I got screwed on both ends. I would have left but at that point I had no choice but stick with this salon so I could be ready for my event. I was only offered an apology, nothing else for my inconvenience. In the middle of getting my hair done Tim asked me (he was not my stylisty) if I was okay with the time. Well, there was nothing I could really do about it now is there? Which is exactly what I told him. The place was dirty, not super dirty, but for a salon and "spa" it was dirty. They used a brush on me that was not previously soaked in any cleaning product. I watched her take someone else's hair out of a brush before using it on me. That is pretty gross and here is hoping the other customers are clean. After my hair was done it looked great. My hair holds curls for up to 4 days, (yes I mean days) even when I do it myself with rollers or an iron. I do not know what she used to curl my hair but it fell out within 2 to 3 hours. I ended up having to redo my own hair. Defeats the purpose of getting your hair done does it not? I will never go back and if I could, I would get my money back. I really hope Tim gets his business together, Bremerton needs it small businesses to thrive, but they need to do their part in order to do so. read more

I came here for a full set of eyelash extensions. I've gotten these done multiple times before, but only at a place in Seattle. While I really like the people and the atmosphere here, my results were not very good. I had glue leak into both eyes during the session, eyelashes ripped out in the process, and ultimately, there was waaaaay to much lash glue residue all over my lashes. I know how properly done lashes are supposed to feel, having maintained a full set for over a year at one point. The lashes should be completely free of residue and soft to the touch. These are the exact opposite. Stiff, brittle and sticky, covered in chunks and wanting to stick together (many actually are stuck together.) I came home and immediately tried to clean up my lashes with oil (a HUGE no-no if you want these to last, but I don't.) The girl was really nice and offered to fix or change anything I wanted, but tbh, I'm not inclined to come back in. My plan is to carefully remove these myself after the wedding next weekend. Shame, because it set me back $180 plus tip. I've added a pic of the result AFTER I removed as many chunks of glue as possible myself at home (see the giant brown eyeball closeup). I should have taken a pic prior to my attempt to clean them up, but as you can see, they are still a bit chunky and stuck together, and they still feel like sandpaper. UPDATE: The extensions became more and more uncomfortable each day I had them, but I decided to wait until after my mom's wedding to attempt to remove them. I did not quite realize how bad they were until now. There are natural lashes stuck together and fake lashes stuck together - as many as five lashes all glued together in big chunks. I could see where several lashes had fallen out naturally, but were unable to escape the large chunks of glue that bound them to the lashes around them, creating hanging chads of dead lashes everywhere. I've tried to loosen everything up with jojoba oil and carefully remove the dead lashes, but this has resulted in ripping out three or four other lashes caught in the rats' nest of lash glue each attempt. I had decent natural lashes before I came into this salon. Now, I'll be lucky if i have enough left to justify putting on mascara. I could cry right now. I contacted the salon about my experience several days ago, and they have not bothered to get back to me. My advice: avoid this place. LAST UPDATE: I have been playing phone tag with the owner for weeks, but I keep missing him. I even showed up once with a ziplock bag full of the wads of glued together lashes to show him, but he wasn't there, and no one else could help me "rectify my situation". The funny thing is, these people seem to think I need to talk to the lash technician who botched the job, as if this is just a mere misunderstanding that could be cleared up with an apology. I have ZERO interest in letting her within 10 feet of what's left of my eyelashes. I paid $200 and walked out looking like Madonna, only to lose HALF of my natural lashes due to her negligence. The only way they could right this horrible wrong is by giving me a refund and assurance that they are going to see to it that she is PROPERLY retrained, but it apparently has to be at their convenience to see me, and if they were going to refund me, they would have just authorized anyone to do it instead of forcing me to jump through hoops. NO, don't ever come to this salon. The owner, Timothy Stimac, called me moments ago and just two days away from my hair appointment to tell me was cancelling it because his other clients were mad I took one of their spots. Hmmm, he doesn't recall cutting my hair just six weeks ago but I do. He complimented me on my sweater and the color of my hair. I came on the recommendation of one of his favorite clients. Who treats their clients so poorly, oh Timothy Stimac does! I would never recommend him or his salon after such a rude interaction. read more

This was my first time to the Salon. Everyone there is amazing! I originally had an appointment and missed it and they had no problem rescheduling. The minute I walked through the door I was greeted my the sweetest receptionist and given a glass of water (which was much appreciated after my walk there). The whole place is well kept and clean, and nothing looks out of place. Everyone was dressed professionally and in the same basic black, which I love. After setting up, Margaret did my manicure and was so sweet and the finished product is beautiful! I can't stop looking at my nails! She was very friendly and kept me talking, so I wasn't just sitting there in an awkward silence. She was very gentle and made sure every nail met her standards. Quick and efficient-I was in and out but still felt pampered! I love a classic French manicure and my nails have never looked better! read more

One of the worst salon experiences I've ever had! I scheduled an appointment with Donald to get my roots touched up and a hair cut. It started off well - started on time, Donald was really friendly, it was going fine. After my roots had been bleached, he put the toner on, and that's when it all went bad. The wrong toner was put on, which is not the biggest deal (mistakes happen!), but Donald's reaction was horrible. He started swearing and freaking out, and kept looking at my hair saying "sh*t, sh*t, sh*t," over and over. I could hear him swearing and slamming things around in the back. It made me super uncomfortable. When he came back to wash it out, he told me we wouldn't have time for the hair cut because he had a "VIP" client coming in after me and couldn't make her wait. Another stylist, George, ended up doing the bulk of the color correction because Donald started on his next client. I ended up being at the salon for more than three hours, and left without a haircut, had wet hair (they didn't blow dry to save time), and an extremely tender scalp from all the correcting. The entire time I was there, I wasn't offered any water or apology or any effort to make me feel comfortable. I wasn't offered a discount either (though I didn't ask for one). The ultimate color I ended up with was very pretty and what I wanted, but the unprofessionalism was extremely uncomfortable for me as a new client. I will not be back :( read more

I have to agree with Jennifer A. Timothy is way too high on his horse to realize what he is doing with Hair. He mocks you when you go to other stylists and their work and always says he can do better but Twice it's missed the mark. Not only that, he passes you off to someone to "finish you" because he is "sooo busy" taking personal calls and breaks. I understand that it must be hard to run a business, but I think this salon has gone to his head and the hair that came with it, he can't style. I feel bad for Don tying his horse to this wagon that is out of control. Tim used to get it right, but lately, he has changed, he doesn't care about the customer, he cares about what it gets him, where it gets him, and who with and he will tell you how hard his life is the entire appointment. Don is by far the rudest person I have ever encountered in my life. He is the kind of business man who cares more about a pretty penny than customer satisfaction. On my third visit to this salon a lot of bleach got on the back of my black skirt because my hair is very long and their cape was too short to protect my clothes. My bleached hair tuned green in which Don blamed me for putting my hair in chlorine in which I calmly explained that I never did. He blatantly ignored my explanation, disrespectfully spoke down to me because I look "young" and called me ignorant. The two stylist that I met there are very helpful and willing to do whatever they can to ensure a customer is satisfied. Its a shame they have to work under the rules of a toxic person like Don. read more

Not impressed. I went for a Groupon mani-pedi and it wasn't even worth the discounted price. I had an appointment for 9am and pulled up about 8:58 to a dark, locked salon. They did open shortly afterwards. The pedi was average, but the mani was terrible. I couldn't soak my hands because the water was scalding, she cut me with the cuticle clippers, and the coup de grace - she walked me to the front about 5 minutes after finishing my nails. So of course I had to dig out my keys and the Groupon itself from my bag, effing up my freshly painted nails in the process. They were so bad I had to take the polish off when I got home. Waste of money. I won't be back. My sister and I were both given Groupon's for Mani-Pedis as christmas gifts. When i scheduled our appointments i was not told that there would be one (very slow) girl doing our mani/pedis. The gal who did it obviously has not done mani/pedis often because she didn't even cut our cuticles or scrub the feet of dead skin. No massage, just a soak, cuticle push and polish after some rediculous Aveda mask that looked like hair gel. The Mani was the same, no cuticle cut, or hand massage. The part that ticked me off was that it took THREE HOURS! My nails budged right after also and completely chipped the next day. If i had paid even the discounted price for this I would have definitly asked for my money back. Horrible. read more

I won't bring him my business considering he charges an arm and a leg for a pedicure or a manicure and the fact he turns away an old man just trying to park , even though he closes in one minute ... She's a highly trustworthy stylist who will listen to what style is desired while also weighing in on what will work best with your hair, face, and frame. I went there for a male haircut. The hair stylist (by the body language) didn't look confident in styling my hair. It didn't feel comfortable and my hair needs to go to a barber to get fixed. Plus the mirror was too far to see my hair while it was being cut. I wouldn't recommend men to come here. It is pretty pricy as well. read more

I'm not one to write reviews and don't usually get to have a day to have my hair done but I hired a babysitter and made an app at this salon and I couldn't have been more excited to spoil myself and have my hair done. After getting there Donald asked me what I wanted done and after telling him he said I'm sorry I have a bday party to be at and don't have the time to color my hair two different colors and turned me away. I made the app for all over color and cut and the salon wasn't closed for two hours. I was crushed and walked out wanting to cry. I have never experienced rudeness like this before going anywhere specially having an appointment. After sitting in their parking lot trying to search for Miracle salon that would be open for at least another two hours and might except me without an app now I called fab u look and Helen was so compassionate and told me to come right over and felt so bad. She made me feel so comfortable and she really made the best impression any person could ever make and stayed past her closing hours to make my dream hair color happen because she took the time to listen and care and wanted my bday to be even more special with a new look. I will forever be grateful and amazed on the extra mile she went to accommodate me. Her prices are little higher then most but she is totally worth it and doesn't use the cheap stuff and has great advice on how to care for your hair,skin and everything else she knows it all. She is license in so many different areas and she even does permanent makeup and for the eyebrows! I never knew port orchard had someone that does that. Amazing person!!! Must go visit! After having the same hair guy for many years I moved and had to find another. I am not a easy client, I'm picky and overly anxious when it comes to my hair. I did alot of research and looked at many reviews until I came across Don. I was running a bit late and was his last client for the day, he was so nice and understanding about me running late. Once I got there we looked over ideas together and was very informative of what would work and what wouldn't and why. He explained the process he was doing which was was different then my last hair job and told me why he does this over the other. We had great conversation the whole time with tips and tricks to keep my color vibrent and hair healthy. Time went by WAY FAST, i was sad to say bye When I left. When we were all said and done & I was in pure amazement. It's everything I wanted and more!! The blending of color and the cut was way better then I ever thought it could be. The two stars are for the great receptionist! My sister-in-law and I went down to experience an Aveda salon pedicure and manicure! We got there and no one was working that day for nails but the very friendly receptionist called in the nail technician to work (I guess she's on call). She arrived about 15 minutes later. She was the only nail tech who works there, but they have two chairs so we thought maybe one of the stylists did nails too. Our pedicures started at 11:30 and didn't end until 1:30 :( there was no foot rub or any rub included for that matter :( she seemed so upset to be working on us. It took her so long to just paint on the lotion with a brush, not even her hands. Instead of just doing one pedicure then the next she kept going back and fourth so our feet were freezing :( then we were already there and figured we might as well get a manicure since almost our entire afternoon was already wasted. When we went up to the nail station she looked so mad at us and said, "well I only have time for one shellac...sooo do you still want it?" Needless to say we were so irritated. I'm in the service industry so I still tipped $20 for karma reasons and she didn't even say thank you. I'm sure your hair experience will be different because Aveda stylists are incredible! But their nail technician is definitely not worth the trip! read more

Horrible customer service experience. Had an appointment for 1pm for pedicure, brow wax and haircut. Showed up at 1pm to find out it would be an hour wait for the pedicure (the tech "didn't know I was coming"), and that the brow wax and haircut would be done later. When I reminded the stylist who made the appointment that it was for 1pm, she decided to make it my fault, and went on about how she was doing me a favor by fitting me in. Traded my gift certificates in for cash and left. Wouldn't do business with them ever...fair warning to the reader!! read more
