This is the ultimate awesome Model Shop ever! Old school? Heck ya, man, I was a kid again when I…read moresaw this company. Models I put together already and ones I wished I had and more. There was a little model shop short from the 7-11 and it had gas powered tethered bi-planes and tri planes. Even Snoopys 049 red Barron teather. I used to live in Skyway. Its was a nice place for kids and youth to grow. My favorite thing was working to make money to buy models. AND build. The cost in the 60s was about 3$ a model. That was about as cheap as you can get. Now they are not. However, this store has a lot to choose from and not just one but two or more. Paint galore. Try to get one bottle on Ebay for less than 10. The prices are really nice here and I was in a hurry. But I was happy to see the rare models you cant buy from the REVELLE company on line. It sure is nice to have a model company like this. It looks like they will be around for a while. The workers are awesome, they help you the best they can and provide helpful information on paints you can use on models and what you cant. Their paint brushes are in good taste, they have small bottles of thinner. I forgot to look for the spray paint that hardens paper covered wings that is fuel proof. It dont melt. Thanks you Skyway Model shop for being around. You are rare. Now, I ask you to build a small rail road to show off G, H, and N scale, to stock slot cars and tracks, as well as balsa kits and sky rockets to assemble. I bet Estes would be happy with ya. Best wishes in sales!!!

There was only one cashier but there were self-checkout machines so I was able to check out pretty quickly. I did come back to pick up an online order since I got a discount from ordering online. One of the employees asked me for my last name then told me to look at the pickup section to find my order. I did find that odd and a little less secure than I would like. That means anyone could have come in the store and looked at the last names on the pickup bags and told the employees that it's their order. Nonetheless, it has been a pretty seamless experience going to this store. I would def order from them again since the prices and options are reasonable.

Tried again, this time I just sent my husband to store to buy, it said they had three of the item. He came home with two that were the wrong blade. I am frantically making last minute things for my grandsons first birthday. Before I send my husband back I call to ask someone to check and the person I spoke to said online is never accurate, I said that's ok but please just check shelf before I send my husband. He refused. Called another store twice as far from my house but they were pleasant and helpful. I will never shop at the Southcenter Michael's again, I would rather drive to another store for sure.

Whether you're a rockhound or a jewelry lover, or you just need a souvenir, there are lots of options here at all price points. For gem and mineral lovers, they have some pretty nice color-coordinated displays of specimens and jewelry. From amethyst to larimar, malachite to labradorite, and even diamond slices, there are some nice crystals, cabochons, and spheres to drool over. Many of the bigger pieces seem too expensive and/or fragile for travelers, but I suppose if you've got $1,300 to drop on a fluorite sphere, you can afford to have it shipped. Other inexpensive jewelry options include the gemstone stacking rings in a display case by the door ($35), semiprecious stone post earrings by the register ($10-15), and locally made wood slice earrings by an artist in Edmonds. For kids, there are some fun items like small soapstone animal carvings (under $5), books, inexpensive mineral specimens, and fossil kits. I wasn't too impressed by the service here -- it was pretty early in the morning during my visit, and I was the only customer for most of that time, but the two employees stayed at the counter talking to each other about personal stuff and ignored me. Since I was mostly just browsing, it wasn't that big of a deal, but it seems like they should at least make the effort to greet customers when they walk in. Overall, a nicely organized and displayed gift shop with lots of sparkly gems to ooh and ahh over while you're waiting in the airport. A good place to pick up a last-minute gift that doesn't feel like one!

Gal in front of me had a price check which Jill acted like was a huge inconvenience to come over and do. The other register was dealing with a return with no receipt which the cashier couldn't handle and Jill was too annoyed to stick around and resolve. She was too stressed by the patient gal waiting for someone to help her find a product. By the time I got to check out, Miranda, the cashier, looked about ready to cry from secondhand stress. One of my items didn't have a price tag so... price check. And guess who looked thrilled about it. And gave the COMPLETE wrong price. I had grabbed one of their 99¢ bandanas and she said $6.99. I just chose not to buy that rather than argue because it wasn't worth talking to Jill. Miranda was great and very apologetic but I honestly felt bad leaving her with that kind of individual manning that area. Took about ten minutes to get through checkout and Jill was still ignoring the return issue but thankfully that poor cashier was able to get another manager over who looked pretty annoyed with Jill's inaction so I feel like this is a known issue. I hate to imagine what Jill would act like with an actually angry customer if this is how she behaved with patient folks experiencing minor issues.
