The thing I didn't like was that some of the cards had these sleeves that were causing the cards to curve, which kinda messes the quality of it. My boyfriend and I were in Renton and wanted to check out Shane's Cards as many friends and TCG players that we have met have shared with us how Shane's Cards was one of the best card shops in Washington! We had our dogs with us and we asked if we can bring our dogs inside as we browse and they were more than happy to let them in and give them lots of pets and attention. The staff here were very helpful, friendly and professional not only with us but with everyone else here. I love how organized the store is while also being easy to walk around. There was a good amount of people inside but we were able to traverse easily and with no problems, even with our dogs which is saying something! They have specific sections dedicated to Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon and other TCG games too. They also have a lot of different card accessories and essentials for plays such as boxes, play mats, sleeves, and much more. We noticed how super fair the prices are here. The back of the store is the gaming area which is probably one of the biggest that I have seen in the area with plenty of seating and tables to play. It's exciting to know another great TCG shop that allows dogs and has everything we may need for our TCG needs. read more

A first timer to this popular card store. Parking lot was pretty full, so had to park a ways out. Then had to walk to the store. Once we entered, saw a whole variety of Magic, Pokémon, and Yu-Gi-Oh cards for sale! They were separated out in different card sections of the store. Also noticed some DC and Marvel Cards. Prices seemed so-so. They ranged from inexpensive to a bit pricey numbers. Shane's Card Shop is my go to. I been coming here every week ever since I discovered it. The staff is super friendly and they have a great selection of different Trading Card Games at fair prices. During times where it's not being used, you can even chill at the tables in the back and rip cards open, hang out, or even play games. They have daily TCG events in the back which is also cool. I go specifically for their Pokemon cards and almost always come out with something new. They sell raw singles and graded cards as well! read more

Shane's brother, Tom, is fun to chat with and takes the time to make sure you leave with an empty wallet. Always enjoy talking to him. The shop is currently at 4 stars, so I will leave a 4 star review. However, I was disappointed on my trip today. I came in because the photo says sports cards, but after speaking with the staff, I was advised that they stopped selling sports cards years ago. I know signs are expensive, but maybe you remove or edit the shop photos to remove sports from the sign. I did make a trip in just for sports cards and left empty handed. read more

This card shop has been around a long time and has been a big staple for the TCG community. I often come here for their MTG collection, especially for the foil basic lands that they always have in stock. Their inventory of singles is pretty reasonable, though it's not quite as extensive as Cardkingdom. They don't put all their foil singles out, so if you're looking for something specific, it may be worth asking to see if they have them in their boxes. The selection of packs and boxes is pretty impressive, as you can see some of the older sets still available (though at a premium). They do run tournaments and other meet-up nights (such as Commander), but I haven't joined in on those events. There are also plenty of Pokemon cards, so if you're into that or have kids that are, this is a great shop to come to. read more

I was recommended this store as I was looking for an establishment that sold Yu-Gi-Oh singles. I'm not a player, I'm not even really much of a collector. But I was very into Yu-Gi-Oh until about 2007 and felt the itch to fulfill some nostalgic yearnings. I called the store before my first visit as I wanted to ask about their official YuGiOh tournaments since I wasn't able to find the information online. The Team Member that picked up the phone told me that they don't typically post about the events online because "most of the regulars already know when they take place". That's cool I guess, but how do new players get in the loop? I later found out where the information was posted, which makes me wonder why the Team Member didn't just guide me to that resource but oh well. This store is really really out of the way but I made the drive over and honestly was pretty glad that I did. They have so so so many Yu-Gi-Oh cards, I was basically a kid in a candy shop. Right off the bat, a couple of team members helped me out as I asked questions and wanted to check out different cards. I wasn't overwhelming them with questions, and this was something a Team Member even mentioned to me which I appreciated haha. I went through so many cards, inspecting the different conditions to find ones I felt comfortable buying. I will say on this note, there needs to be better control of condition coming in. A lot of the cards they have for sale are pretty beat up, some monsters I totally passed on because every copy they had was damaged in some way. At the very least, maybe separating the better condition cards from the worse ones would make things a lot easier for a buyer. That being said, I was really happy with the cards I did buy and the prices were really good. I even bought a cool rate card, and one of the Team Members lowered the price for me after they checked and saw that the market value went down. On this, prices truly are fair as the employees base them off of market value. There isn't really getting a better deal on eBay or anything because if anything sellers on eBay up charge to make up for fees. The only negative aspect of my first experience here, aside from my critique on card conditions, is that sometimes the employees will openly talk about things that I don't believe are appropriate in a business setting, as casual as the industry of card collecting might be. I heard complaints about other customers asking questions, which I think instills this idea in the back of the head like "oh will I be talked about too?" Before my next time visiting, I called ahead and asked if this store was taking pre orders for the Yu-Gi-Oh 25th anniversary packs. They got pretty sassy with me for some reason, but then told me to come in the store and that they're writing a list for pre-orders. I went to the store and signed up to pre-order, and was told I would get a call when they get their shipments in. I never got that call so I'm not really sure what happened, as i was told i was "ahead" enough on the list that their first shipment should cover it. While I was there anyways I bought some other cards and otherwise had an average experience. The last time I went, I bought a couple cards but what really threw me off was that an employee started brushing their teeth behind the counter.... I have never seen that in my life. Also, when working with collectibles especially, I'm not sure if that's something you really want to do lol. Overall, I think this store has a great selection in cards and has fair prices. Team Members are generally friendly but there are moments that can show otherwise. However, the quality control when it comes to cards being sold leaves much to be desired. The professionalism also is a little spotty, at the end of the day it is a place of business and I don't want to have to worry about getting judged for asking the wrong question or toothpaste ending up on my cards. 3/5, it's a notable place for sure but there are some areas of improvement that I hope get noticed and worked on read more

On one of the days that we were in Seattle we spent it going around looking for Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh! cards/packs. I looked up a few places for Hubby before we went on our trip and we spent one of the days going to see what we can find! It was a nice little adventure and when we came to Shane's Cards it has to be Hubbys' favorite place thus far. It's a pretty big store with a lot of different items on display. Hubby took time to browse around with what he wanted to get, as he was looking for some single Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. I don't believe he bought any, since they didn't have what he wanted. We did end up getting a few of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Tin of the Pharaoh Gods and some Pokemon ETBs. Or worse make awkward "can anyone help?" Announcements thar suddenly send everyone scrambling. I have been going to Shane's for years and typically 8 out of 10 times I go there I get the worst customer service. The employees act as if I am bothering them when I want to purchase an item; it feels more like a club house for the employees then a place of business. I am rarely greeted at the door or asked if I need assistance. When I do need assistance and I have to pull an employee from their card sorting duties they act as if it is the biggest inconvenience. Their annoyance is palpable and wholly unacceptable for a business. I do not know how the owner allows such awful customer service. This is not a one time occurrence, this is fairly consistent over the 15 years I have been buying cards and games from Shane's. This weekend was my last straw. I got nothing but rude and dismissive treatment the moment I walked in from when I finally got someone to sell me some cards. The employee could not be more irritated that I asked him the price of some cards, and heaven forbid I might actually wish to purchase some. No eye contact, no asking if I needed anything or basic niceties of "have a nice day". This is the usual treatment I get from this place and more people should be aware of this and go somewhere else. I don't know how this place stays in business and I hope the owner takes this review to heart and takes steps to improve the customer service of its employees; I'll never know because I do not intend to ever return to this place. read more

Buys at 40% below tcg low. Maybe that's just me but that seems way to high. I've been to Shane's twice, one time before the before they moved to see what the local mtg modern community looked like. There seemed to be a great community that goes to Shane's but it was hard to get any help from the person at the counter. I just remember standing there waiting for the employee behind the counter, he was talking to a local for like 7-8 minutes before I got acknowledged to buy some singles. Second time I ever went was after they moved into the Fredmeyers parking lot, the new place looked really nice. I went in to sell a scrubland (legacy duel land) single just to get some quick cash. The guy at the counter was a bald, white bigger set white dude, I asked him what they buy cards at and he told me 40% below TCG. The scrubland I had was sitting at $245 and he offered me $140, Which is 43% tcg low. I said I'd take $150, got some quick cash and got out. Honestly I felt really taken advantage of read more
