My hopes - before returning next year (and writing an updated, very positive review) - is that the owners invest a bit of money in landscaping. Even if it is just tilling the sites. Get rid of the coarse weeds and level it off. So much potential. We will be back!

They are friendly, funny, witty, and genuinely enjoy making every camper feel like family. You can tell they love what they do, and it shows in every detail. They go above and beyond to keep everyone entertained with rock painting for the kids, pool activities, ice cream socials, music, pizza nights, chicken wings, and so much more. There is always something fun happening, and it's easy to see why families love coming back. The shower facilities deserve a special mention--they are absolutely beautiful and exceptionally clean. Honestly, they are some of the cleanest campground showers I've ever seen! The fish-cleaning station was another pleasant surprise. It was well-maintained, convenient, and spotless. One of the things we appreciated most was how safe and peaceful the campground felt. Walking around at any time was comfortable, and when quiet hours began, they truly were quiet. It made for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Thank you, Kim, and your entire staff, for creating such a welcoming, family-friendly campground. Though the river was extremely cold in March, we were able to drive like 2-3 miles to some hot springs and still enjoy the water. Lots of places to hike! View is amazing always!

We got campsite #23 and it seemed to be one of the better ones in the campsite. It was close to water spigot and restrooms, but far enough to have them out of sight. The campground was clean and relatively empty, I think there were about 3-4 other groups of campers in the entire campground, which made for a peaceful time. The camp host was friendly and they do sell wood on site. The small and charming town of Kernville is 10 minutes down the road, so it makes it very convenient to grab anything you might forget. The campsite has pit toilets that were clean when we were there... other reviews have mentioned how bad they can be but its one of those things that you kind of have to tuff out. The campsite has NO showers, but a simple and easy solution is to drive down 5 minutes to Kern River's Edge Campground Retreat. They have showers that you can pay to use for about $5 a person, which is a great deal considering the situation :) This campsite is within the Sequoia National Forrest and it's close to lots of hikes in the area. I loved having the river in our backyard and it was a great spot. It does get really cold in December so make sure you have a good sleeping bag or extra blankets! I would definitely stay here again!

May, 2024. We stayed one night at this campground mid-week in our Class B RV after having made…read morereservations on Recreation.gov. Finding the campground (Rating: 1/5). We had had a LONG driving day, it was getting dark, and we were not familiar with the Lake Isabella area. We passed several National Sequoia Forest campgrounds on the lake that had vacancies but Tillie Creek was still further along -- and required navigating a curvy road where the speed limit and driving by locals was too fast for conditions. When our GPS reported that we had reached, we didn't see any signage that a campground was there so we mistakenly missed it. However, we then noticed picnic tables and fire rings that were suggestive of the campground so we turned back and found the campground. Finding a site. (Rating: 4/5). Being mid-week, almost ALL of the sites were available but most had tags that they were reserved for the weekend. We selected a fairly level site -- and were soon joined by the camp host who checked us in and gave us our car tag. He also warned us to be careful because there were rattlesnakes in the area. We only saw a bunny! It turned out that only the camp host, another rv, and us were the only ones on-site for the night. It also turned out that our selected site (#18) wasn't ideal because there was early morning traffic noise. This campground does not offer showers, but it does have restrooms and water spigots. Also note that one section of the campground isn't being maintained -- beyond where Tillie Creek had flooded. Also, to our knowledge, the lake is not easily accessible from the campground.

We chose a site in a grove of trees and it's been amazing have shade throughout the entire day. The campground isn't perfect, we were lost when we first came in, went up the road to some mobile homes and then finally when we reached the campground it looked slightly abandoned. The booth where you check in was abandoned, in disrepair and full of cobwebs, a playground was full of empty frames of where swings and stuff should be, and like I mentioned before looked empty. We eventually found the camp host who was very pleasant and helpful though and were given the choice to pick any site we wanted. About an hour from Sequoia's trail of 100 giants and a few minutes from the French Gulge Marina where we rented some kayaks. Only real downside was there were a lot of wasps at our campsite when we tried to prepare food and no showers on site either. Toilets are basically outhouses but were kept clean. All in all had a good weekend away here.

Wetting socks upon entry And departure. The couch was smelly with blood and urine stains. The window was broken. The curtain rods fell off in your hand. These people do not care about comfort or quality at all. It's a bad bad place to stay for comfort. It's cheap. It stinks. The people who rented it were rude. We had a problem with the weather. And got snowed in. They did not care at all. We did not receive our deposit back because of a single missing key. And a trash can with trash in it. Shame on you I'm reporting you to air b n b as well. Since you own corporate rentals and all the testimonies are fake. No one likes a leaking sink broken windows and not getting a deposit back I'm glad we left our mess you people deserved it And the neighbors were all rude mountain Stuck up and not helpful folk. Go here if you like to be treated like a number. Asked us to pay friends and family paypal so they keep the tax on it. I'm reporting you to the irs for tax evasion. A couple hundred times is a lot of tax money saved. I've been treated better that's for sure. I didn't expect the rude dishonest behavior from a vendor. Shame on you. I hope you get shut down for uninhabitable conditions. This place should be inspected before allowed to rent. Terrible terrible experience. Go somewhere ELSE ! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! Little Red Nightmare more like. Little red lodge was just that a nightmare. Musicians stay away get a tent and your own set up. You will be better off.
