Got hand pulled veggie noodle soup instead of knife sliced and the noodles are even better than knife sliced and very bouncy. Portion is insanely large. The broth had a sesame oil taste and was very hearty and the fresh veggies were delicious. Me and my friend tried all the sides: cold fungus salad, cucumbers salad, braised tofu, and the shredded tofu. The sides were SO FRESH AND GARLICKY. They were INSANE. The braised tofu was spongy and fried and came in the most delicious chilli soy sauce. Black fungus and cucumber salad were crunchy and garlicy. I don't even like cucumber salad and I can't stop thinking about it. The shredded tofu was our fav, it was like tofu noodles and the flavoring was something else. Sides are a must try. Environment was clean and tables were well stocked with cucumber water, soy sauce, vinegar, and chilli oil (delicious btw, not too spicy). Service was super quick. On our last visit, a few Sunday nights ago, we popped in at dinner time on impulse and were seated immediately, though it's not a big space and it gets a lot of traffic. We walked through the little bar to the interesting and well-appointed dining room. I ordered a Singha beer and my wife got her standard Thai iced tea, very well made here. We split an appetizer of delicious crispy firecracker shrimp. She got her favorite, Pad Thai with shrimp, and I got mine, creamy green curry with chicken (I chose a 3 out of 4 on spiciness, which was close to my limit!). Both were terrific, As always, the service was efficient and polite. We haven't tried this place for carryout yet, because I think we just like sitting there so much. The broth here is rich & flavorful and no msg used here per the owner. The portion size is decent and staff were very friendly. Very attentive to our need and refilled our water when it was low. The owner chatted us up to a little bit and we learn that this restaurant has been in business for about 2.5 years. The owner used to work at pho nom nom in Rockville back in the day.
