On my visit yesterday the woman who took my order was very rude and impatient. Seemingly as if she didn't want to take my order and I was bothering her. Also when I paid I placed my card in her hand and when it was time to return my card, my hand was still out, she placed it on the counter and walked away. Mind you no one was waiting on her for service. She went to talk to the cook. I found that extremely rude and really wanted to cancel my order. Stopped by on a weeknight based on the rave reviews... Google told us this place would be busy around 6:30-7pm... well, it wasn't. Only 2 other tables had people sitting down in the whole restaurant. It was so dead in there the cooks were chilling outside on the patio.. we almost turned around because everyone knows, you avoid empty seafood restaurants..... we decided to "stay the course", but we weren't going to get anything too crazy. (Maybe everyone just goes for lunch?) We were greeted warmly and our waitress was SUPER personable, talkative, and made great recommendations- you could tell she knew the menu well. The chips and salsa were fantastic- hot, fresh tortilla chips and homemade salsa. Loved that! For the entree I tried the grilled shrimp, which was just ok, a little spicier than I expected, but cooked well. I really did enjoy the Cole slaw! This whole dining experience was just kinda weird. I went into this restaurant expecting a really hopping seafood chain, and the surrounding local restaurants were busier. This was basically over priced fast food that they make you sit down to eat. I can see this being fun for trying some local bites like Gator tacos or something like that, but I don't think we will be back, unless it's just for appetizers. read more

I was not curious to taste frog legs or alligator, but it was on the menu and 4 of my friends ordered and they were very pleased. I stayed away!! I had catfish tacos and they were tasty and they feel fresh. our server was great, everyone seems cool and friendly. Place has a nice decor and feels fresh. We like it! read more

My friend and I were going through Okeechobee last night and looking for a place to eat. We happened across Tin Fish about ten minutes before closing. In spite of arriving so late, the kitchen was open, the staff was friendly, and we received excellent service and a wonderful meal. I had the fried gator dinner (one of my favorites) and my friend had the lobster bisque and a salmon dinner plate. We both had the salted caramel cheesecake for dessert, which was just out of this world. We thought the food was fantastic, and service was prompt and delivered with a smile. This is one of those rare finds with excellent food and excellent service. We will definitely be back! read more

Very good food, and the service was friendly and fast. We had the daily special double shrimp taco plate. We had it on soft corn tortillas, grilled the shrimp and it was sitting on fresh cabbage and had a fresh pico de gallo sauce a special sauce. The tacos were fresh and flavorful. We were desperate for a fresh fish place, but this joint serves mostly frozen Alaskan whitefish, which is basically the same stuff as fish sticks and a MD Fillet o Fish. To be fair, the salmon tacos are pretty good, and the canned soups such as crab bisque and shrimp and corn chowder are tasty. The inside of this place is very nice and a good place to take a date in Okeechobee. The frog legs are pretty good, the gator could be fresher. The fresh oysters I had last time were tiny and rinsed after shucking, thus eliminating the oyster juice. Where in the world did they learn to do this? read more

I thought the atmosphere and food quality was very tasty. However, the fish was sadly under seasoned and most of everything else lacked depth of flavor. Walking in, I expected to be very impressed and it was more of an "okay" dining experience. The fish tacos (Mahi and famous) got the best reviews. I enjoyed some grilled shrimp. Everything we received that was fried though was fairly disappointing. The battering lacked any seasoning and the meat within was completely overrun by the crisp outer crust. We stopped in for a quick dinner and it took a long time to choose from the extensive menu. Ahi tuna (redundant) tacos were great and the grilled shrimp and mahi were also very good. I enjoyed the different coleslaw. I was surprised that the place didn't have more customers for dinner but the service was also very good. I'll definitely be back to try more on the menu! read more

Unfortunately we will not give this place a second chance! Valentine's Day dinner was such a disappointment. Starter came same time as dinner arrived at table and was cold n greasy. Potatoes were definitely reheated and not fresh n good at all. My husband's meal included items not ordered. Server didn't know what menu items for the day were. They were out of two things ordered. Too expensive to try again. Now I know why I cook when we come down! Very disappointing! read more

This is a five star casual setting place. Ask for robin if u want a nice pleasent waitress. Yummy.

Robin was extremely friendly, courteous & helpful. We were there slightly b4 opening time. Rather than make my wife & I sit outside in the hot sun, we were invited in a given cold drinks until they officially opened. I ordered the special (blackened scallop ceasar salad)... I've eaten here several times. I've never been disappointed. The Alaskan white fish sandwich is battered with a tasty breaking and fried. Topped with hot sauce and tarter sauce. It comes with fries and a vinegar based Coleslaw which is nice and fresh tasting. My husband was satisfied with his hamburger. I haven't tried the other fish dishes but I will be back. For anyone looking for gator or frog legs, they do have it on the menu. read more

Visiting Florida (Oregon Res) we found this place right along highway. I had alligator and lobster tacos; very fresh and yummy. Services was responsive and dinner quickly served. If you are in the area, I recommend stopping; you will be most satisfied and will not burn much time if you are in a hurry. read more

Tin fish is my favorite restaurant they have such a wide variety of selections. They have anything from fast food style fried food to wings and burgers(which are the best I've had in town) to a delicious dinner. My favorite is the crab imperial over mushrooms. It is to die for! The service is so fast, it is really impressive. The cooks are so on top of the orders I see food just flying out of the kitchen window. I love the atmosphere and the decor within the restaurant, feels very fitting. They have a very kind staff who made me feel extremely welcomed when I came in to be seated. They even allow dogs outside on the porch, which I thought was really neat. They seem to have random busy hours, very busy for lunches but also during dinner time. Some days when I pass by it looks like no one is there but other days the parking lot is packed. Especially after church on Sunday's. It just is a matter of when people want to come in, I think. The owner, Dakota, always seems to interact with the customers from behind the counter when she's not too busy cooking. It's really a pleasure every time I go in. They never disappoint. read more

Love the Tin Fish. Excellent service. Food is hot and prepared as one might expect. Huge shrimp. Really love their Salsa and Chips..Their chips are homemade and that was NOT expected.
