Came to this place on a recommendation to get some local wild fish. We were created by 2 alligators. Of course anyone who lives in okeechobee knows alligators are in the wild everywhere here. We sat down to a rather empty place. I think people eat later here. Greated by a spirited waiter. He was very pleasant. The menu is extensive with all sorts of seafood. From fish tacos to grilled wild snapper. Several sides as well. My wife and I had the snapper and one other friend ordered the wild grouper. We also had the seafood chowder which was some of the best I have ever eaten. They could had used a little more meat. The dinner came and we ordered the 4oz portion but there is an 8 oz too. It was plenty along with rice and cole slaw and a copious amount of Fred broccoli. I couldn't had been more pleased for. $14 meal. They have several grea desert entries but not today. The wait staff were nice and the food was tasty. The atmosphere was very casual. It was early afternoon so the place was not busy. The manager had a meeting with waitstaff right next to our table which was a tad distracting. Dessert came out fancy like in a douple chipped plate. Staff wear jeans which is no issue but there was a lot of pulling up and tugging on those jeans. The more I sat there the more uncleanliness that I saw. The adorable fishing decor was dusty, there was clutter near the front entrance, shoe scuffs at the host stand, doors were thick with grime and bathrooms coated with drips and smudges and seat covers not offered. I know when you work in an environment long enough you don't see the details but your patrons do. Team- if you have time to lean you have time to clean. I asked if I could take pics so I did. We've just moved here and we're making an effort to try the local places. Our hope is that we'll find some great local spots and make them our go-to spots. Tin Fish is going to be a contender! Our server was a bit discombobulated but I believe she was trying her best. It wasn't crowded and our food came out fresh. Calamari was very good! We got the spicy version but will probably try the regular next time. It was good, but the spicy seemed to come from a drizzle of bottled hot sauce. Neither one of us ate the fries (he commented that the seasoning tasted like a packet from ramen noodles). Slaw left a lot to be desired but our tacos were amazing! What a surprising little gem, smack-dab in the middle of Florida! My mother and I stopped here on the way to the East coast of Florida for lunch. Upon walking in, I almost peed my pants. I was looking back at my mother as I opened the door...so the large fake gators on the floor scared the living bejeezus out of me when I turned my head around! So forewarning..there are lifelike gators right as you walk in. The ambiance here is very casual, but I must say they have some amazing decor! It looks like they sourced decorations from multiple artists, providing an eclectic and rustic feeling for the restaurant. The staff were all very nice during our stay. We were seated promptly upon arrival and our drinks arrived in a timely manner. My mother and I ordered the Parmesan & Garlic Wings to share. I also ordered the Crab Cake appetizer and a House Salad with vinaigrette dressing. The salad was dressed perfectly, and I appreciated that they used nice spring greens instead of romaine or iceberg. The crab cakes were good--I didn't realize that they were fried--still good though! What really won me over were the Parmesan & Garlic Wings. We just moved to Okeechobee and this was the first place we went to eat. We walked in late after their posted hours and asked if they were still seating, the guy (owner?) looked at the clock and said Sure, so we stayed and were seated. I ordered the gator, catfish, and frog legs dinner, my husband ordered the 6 piece fish and chips. The chips were waffle fries and were very tasty, and we both loved our dinners. The frog legs were my favorite and I'll definitely get them again. It was a lot of food and we had trouble finishing it. The coleslaw was very different but we loved it. It was not a mayo based coleslaw - I think it was vinegar based and tasted sweet/sour. We split a piece of raspberry (?) cheesecake which was just so-so, but maybe it was because we were so full. We really wanted the key lime pie but they were temporarily out. Our service was great, there were only three other tables full. Restrooms were very clean and roomy. I got the 4oz Red Snapper grilled - very poorly done - chef was nice but Snapper seemed chewy and just plain terrible! The steamed vegetables was expertly done snd that tells me the chef is perhaps not the problem but the materials he is forced to use! Amazing corn fritters and coleslaw. The sweet potato fries aren't that great. I think they're frozen ones instead of fresh. Not worth the $2 substitution fee. Been hew repeatedly it's always great with happy staff. Buy the tin fish T-shirt if u come a lot as every time u wear it in u get a free Tin Fish Beer. Fish always taste fresh and good. My wife and I split a catfish and shrimp dinner with a side of hush puppies. It was all good except a thick piece of undercooked catfish. They replaced it with two additional pieces. Fries were a little undercooked for my preference. Service was good and the place was generally clean- although could use a good dusting up high. We are camping at the KOA just north of the lake and decided to have dinner out one night. I'm so glad we landed here. The food was great, the gator bites were plentiful and perfectly fried and if you've never tried gator this is as good as I've had it. We all ordered fish, my son had the calamari tacos and my daughter had the lobster tacos, they loved them. My wife and I shared a platter of crab cakes, shrimp and fish, it was big enough for the two of us and delicious. We each ordered a cocktail, I had a great LIIT and she had a margarita on the rocks, they were prepared in the adjacent bar which is 21 and older but under the same roof. The drinks were served fast and they were excellent. Our waitress was attentive and friendly and the service was great. Super yummy conch fritters and that "Kaboom Sauce" was awesome! The Fish & Chips were DELISH! And that Cole Slaw --- OMG --- I wanted more! We had shrimp tacos and they were pretty good. I told the waitress we wanted a burger too. She said the six ounce or the ten ounce burger. I said what the heck give me the large. The burger was not that good I've had better at Culver's for sure. She gave me a check and charged me $17.95 for the burger I told her she was crazy, she said sorry that she didn't give me the price before hand but if I came back again she would make it up to me. Said she didn't make the prices she just worked there. I said I will never be back lady and it was a total rip off. Total bill was $47 for two iced teas shrimp tacos and the unforgettable burger which I believe to be a frozen patty swear to God. Any way I won't be back. The owner Michelle actually emailed me and we talked over the phone she said she was sorry and made it right with me. She sent me a check for $17 which I thought was a very nice gesture. Tried the crab cakes appetizer which was mostly breading that tastes like Stove top stuffing And the hush puppies that arrived burnt so they were sent back. I had the shrimp Po'boy and do not recommend. The French roll was stale and inedible. French fries and a vinegar slaw served on the side were ok.
