Tings has been our exclusive restaurant for chinese takeout for years. We know the staff personally. They only do takeout since covid19 and still do a remarkable business. There boneless BBQ pork is the best. Just the right amount of crispness and sauce. The Orange Beef dish also awesome as well as all there other dishes, Orange Beef is my personal favorite along with fried or steamed dumplings. read more

Gosh. Where to even begin! Ting's is top notch from start to finish. Our family frequents this fine Chinese food establishment once in a blue moon and it never disappoints. This time we had a table for 9 including two little ones. They treat us like family here. Service is impeccable and the food is fresher than anything you've ever experienced. The food comes out piping hot and has a flavor you can't get anywhere else. You'll get taken care of when you're here or when you order out. That in mind, their takeout service does VERY well. They must have had 15-20 people come in for large orders while we were there! Very impressive. What we got this time: -Spare Ribs (very meaty and saucy. Just home you like them) -Beef dumplings (fully like your most comfortable pillow) -Shreaded beef with veggies (never got this before, and it's a winner. Will 100% order next time) -Chicken pan fried noodles (while it looks like a birds nest when it comes from the kitchen, it's flavor is on point and texture is outstanding) Many more dishes were had, but I can't recall them all! Came back again with mom. They are so good to her here and super friendly overall. Mom just ordered won ton soup (and had some of mine) and I had beef with green beans luncheon special. The beans are amazing! Cooked just enough, fresh, crispy and beautifully manicured. The beef is tender and not chewy. The thick brown sauce is perfect over white rice. And while we waited for our food we had those awesome crispy noodles dipped in mustard and duck sauce. All this for $12 served with hot tea, ice water and a smile!! Bravo!!!! read more

They are wonderful. Great for delivery or dining in. I suggest sharing a few items, so over order an appetizer or entrees....you don't have to thank me, your belly will. Been going to Tings for years, it was always great, fresh food. However, we had a bad experience a few months ago. Decided to give them a 2nd chance and we ordered again yesterday. It was terrible! Steamed dumplings thick & doughy. Fried rice that used to be delicious, tasted like it was 3 weeks old, dry, no flavor. My husband ordered chicken lo mein, we don't know what it was but it was definitely Not chicken! Sorry to say, we will never be going there again. Did they get new owners? Just wondering read more

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant on the planet. The quality is just unbelievable, especially for the very reasonable pricing! I highly recommend the chicken & cashews (with jumbo roasted cashews), the egg drop/wonton soup, the orange beef, and the egg rolls are out of this world. Make sure to add on an order of hot oil. If you have allergies or are sick, this will clear you right up! So glad I work in the same town. Finally found our go to Chinese spot! Great tasting food. We had the chicken & broccoli which had the right amount of sauce and thickness. Living in Squirrel Hill, I am spoiled by all the choices of authentic Chinese restaurants which are typically crowded by students and faculty from CMU and Pitt. In contrast, when I have to eat in the North Hills, most of the choices are franchises. There are a few Chinese restaurants there but my favorite is Ting's, which is hidden away in the back of McIntyre Square. It is comparable to the best Squirrel Hill restaurant in all respects except for lack of patrons. Perhaps that is due its location but it doesn't reflect the excellence of the food. My favorites right now are the fermented wood ear mushrooms for appetizer and the braised fish filet for main course. Both satisfy my yen for spicy, flavorful food. Like most Chinese restaurants, Ting's can go for cheap to pricey. Taking into account that it is located in Bloomingdale, NJ, this place is pretty good. The ladies who run the place (2 sisters), are very friendly, and remember repeat customers quickly. One sign that a place is at least decent is whether or not it has repeat customers. Ting's does a very good takeout business. I always get take-out from Ting's, but the dining room is fairly standard--no real decor. As I said, it's a local Chinese restaurant, not a destination place. As far as the food goes, the prices are reasonable, and the food is decent. If you want amazing Chinese food, you are probably going to need to go to NYC. The menu is standard, and the quality of the food is consistant. This is such a nice place - my favorite Chinese restaurant! For a reasonable price, from a menu with wide offerings, you can get a delicious meal. The wonton soup has pieces of pork and greens. The pork fried rice and entrees (I've had many) are generous and fresh. The sesame chicken is crispy, and noodles not greasy. Complimentary tea is brought to the table without having to request it, and the tables are covered with fresh linens. Your water is replenished throughout the meal. The decor is tired, and I don't know if any fish are still swimming in the large tank, but this doesn't matter. The friendly and relaxed atmosphere are what matter. We had been getting take out frequently but recently decided to eat in and are always pleased with what we ordered. I have been going to Tings for the past year. It was getting good reviews here so switched from another local restaurant that was going downhill. My last trip to Tings was not good but I gave them a pass thinking it was just a bad night. Got takeout tonite and it was completely awful. Egg rolls were dry and almost tasted stale. My lo mein and General tsos chicken were also dry. It's like the whole order was sitting around all day and they reheated it and sent it home with me. That's two trips in a row where the entire order was dry and tasteless. Not sure if there are new cooks here but note to management - you have a big problem. OK my late mother and myself have been ordering take out or delivery here for OMG maybe twenty years? It cannot be that long? Wow maybe it has been. Gee I am really old. Anyway, I only dined in once with a coworker and i brought wine coolers and she was not a snob and it was fine. She actually like the place. I think I know about fish tank. There used to be live fish in it then years ago. Anyhow, I just want to say the people genuinely care. The sisters do remember their customers!!! For years. I only get delivery now, just occasionally but hey it is Americanized Chinese food which well everybody that gets take out should be familiar with. I only had a problem once and that was I don't know why they could not find our apt, it is like the biggest complex in Bloomingdale. That was really my only bad experience and they did try to fix. As for food. It is Americanized Chinese. Not something out of Bejing which I would have no idea of anyway and probably would not care for LOL I and my late mother were not fans of the fried rice however. Usually dry and hard and often lacking in like everything but rice. Everything else is good with generous portions. I would recommend to people that want take out/delivery or even a casual eat in experience of typical Americanized Chinese. There are only two other places close. Kit hong is HORRID they give you cremated meat and if you complain they get nasty. The other place by the old Stopnshp, their food is not bad but so drowned in peanut oil it can be hard to digest. read more

Ordered boneless spare ribs and steamed dumplings for delivery and everything was cold and fatty. Dumplings had a slick glaze over them as if they had a layer of fat and were not cooked properly. Did a takeout order this week for 4 people. Barely edible. All four of us agreed. I got sesame chicken which I couldn't eat. It was saturated with a molasses type of sauce, completely soaked. Food is average to a bit below average but inexpensive. There are NO GOOD Chinese restaurants in town or neighboring towns. Pros: - Nice owners - Good service - Not overly crowded - Better than most in the area especially for the $$$ Cons: - A bit dirty - Dishes and silverware are pretty clean but the place is not up to par - Bathroom is not clean at all...really bad (At least the Men's Room) , I'm sure the Ladies room is also dirty (When a bathroom is disgusting, the kitchen is probably disgusting...but can't confirm that) Gave it three stars but if available, would have given it two and a half. read more

Stopped by to potentially buy a few dishes but alas when a quart of a chicken/pork dish is nearly 10$ thats a bit expensive! Also, at that cost your only option is white rice and not brown rice. We have been going to Ting's for the past 10-12 years and have always had food there that ranged from very good to excellent. The restaurant is family owned and operated and the sisters that are there daily have always made us feel welcome. This is one of the only places that are worth visiting for Chinese food in this corner of Bergen, Passaic and Morris Counties. The atmosphere in the restaurant is that of an older style no frills Chinese restaurant like I had grown up frequenting in Brooklyn. You might not be impressed with the decor, but the food, and always friendly atmosphere have kept us coming back. YoYo and Bonnie are there most of the time and really care about their customers. Prices are reasonable and the take out portion of this place is always busy.... There is more than enough competition in the area that would have put Ting's out of business a long time ago if the place wasn't as great as it is read more

My family always enjoys the food here. I have been there twice with them and both times I was disappointed in the dishes I got. The chicken in the chicken lo mein and chicken fried rice was bland and not very hot. More like it was warmed up separately and dumped on top as an after thought.
