Best Chinese Takeout around the area. Being in West Milford there are not many options, and after living in the Fort Lee area where good Chinese restaurants are plentiful this was a great spot to find. Consistent. Family run. Always nice when picking up. Might be ordering again tonight! read more

Your typical, standard-issue Chinese takeout joint. You know, the kind with the distinctive red & black text menus that look the same everywhere, and has lit up plaques of faded food photos on the wall. I give them special mention because they're one of the VERY few Chinese restaurants that still does egg foo young with the old school gravy right - the creamy, light brown kind, not the lazy dark soy-based starchy sauces that most places use now. Though the egg foo is a bit stingy on protein (shrimp, pork, etc) so there's room for improvement. Unfortunate as I continue to look for a Chinese restaurant within 10 miles that is good. Easy ordering on the app which is a plus. Egg and spring roles were definitely good. Cold sesame noodles...stuck together noodles with a large lump of peanut butter on top that could not be mixed with the noodles as it was so dense. I had to heat the cold noodles to even get this to resemble a dish I've gotten many times elsewhere. I've never seen the dish really fail but in this case it did. Chicken Lo Mein was good. Finally the traditional fried "Chinese noodles" that come with all meals at every Chinese place were being sold for extra at the counter and not included. Best Chinese in the area, I grew up on kit Hong but when they switched owners it went downhill. Prices are up thanks to covid, good chicken and broccoli but there's more broccoli than chicken, teriyaki steak skewers are great except the one that was all fat on a stick. Ordered last night from Grubhub an had to cancel my order due to a crazy updated wait time. Upon calling the restaurant, the woman I spoke to was extremely pleasant. She asked me to call back if I didn't hear anything. When I called back, she apologized several times for The confusion and quickly remade my food and had it delivered by one of their own drivers. Sent the wrong order, then refused to acknowledge their mistake, or do anything about it. I ordered chicken chow mein, but was sent steamed chicken with vegetables and pork fried rice. When I called in to explain their mistake she told me that I just didn't know the difference between noodles. Nary a noodle in this order... because it was the wrong dish. I discarded most of the. Although ordered and were six expecting it within 25 minutes to a half an hour it did show up on time, by mistake we were tipping cash to the driver and provided him with the wrong amount that was our fault and we called you long to let them know to have the driver stay there when we were come there and get it and tip in the proper amount. While eating the food that we ordered we had ordered a Kong pow chicken well done. We're expecting small fried pieces of chicken in a compass sauce with peanuts and what we received was questionable if they're worth much chicken in it it was not battered and there were so many other kinds of vegetables in it we couldn't even find the chicken my wife was concerned that it wasn't even chicken Kung Pao other than the fact that she saw peanuts on it. We've ordered from this place many times and never had really truly an issue with the flavor of the food but the flavor of the food this time was just not up to par we did bring that up to them but they did not make any comments or excuses of why that may have happened. We did get the money back that we were tipping by accident we think we got the whole thing I'm not exactly sure what the full amount was but it was in the area of $150 that we accidentally gave him and if you got $20 that we didn't account for and then he got $20 that we didn't account for. I went on a recommendation of a friend. The restaurant door was posted that you must wear a mask to enter which is sensible. Wow! don't be turned away by some of the less than great reviews here. I will definitely be back. Friendly service, great food, great prices and I waited maybe 15 minutes. Alright, I am continued to be impressed. Hurricane Sandy devastated and Bloomingdale / Butler were without power. Apart from the liquor store operating by candlelight, Guan Long was open! Stopped in and was quite surprised actually since both AJ's Pizza and Danny's Pizza were closed (dont they use a gas operated oven?). I live in West Milford and the chinese food there is awful. The only choice is mr. Wonton (1 or 2) which is gross. Coming from Queens where you only get good take out Guan Long has decent dishes. Not the best but it would probably survive in NYC which is saying something considering most NJ chinese take out places would be closed in the city. The first time I ordered the food was decent and hot. The last two times it has drastically declined. Ordered a few different things tonight and everything was extremely greasy and cold. (not a good combo) The chicken lomein had a weird smell and tasted bland. Shrimp toast and eggrolls same thing! I picked at some of it not wanting to waste money but as of right now I feel sick. This place is psycho. Will never order from here again. I tipped $9 dollars on a $35 dollar bill, which is a little more than 20% for delivery and food. However, gave $5 in cash, since I had it on me, and the remainder on the card. The driver literally stood there, examined the tip and then felt the need to question it even AFTER I handed him the $5.
