I found out that not only did the dealership cause damage to my vehicle during the repairs, they did not even check some of the other issues I brought the vehicle in for (they had my vehicle for a FULL MONTH) and also tried to charge me for unnecessary repairs and components when I picked it up. We were able to be seen same day, and based on how busy the shop can be sometimes varies, but they were able to squeeze us in. I called around Chula Vista looking for a mechanic who could do my oil and filter change and I seen tino had good reviews so I called and he said I can come in few a days and so I came in the morning time and he said the oil change would take up to 2 hours which it took 5 ! He never said to drop off my car and it would take 5 hours. He kept saying "it's almost done or we're working on it" as I'm just sitting / walking around. He told me that they messed up on car parts and he was short staffed , if he would have communicated that before hand I would have went somewhere else considering this is my only day off . He's just money hungry at this point. He also couldn't reset my service light so I left with my service light still on and paid almost $200. He also wanted to insult me by saying "people like you" if he would have communicated from the beginning their short staffed and it would take more than 2 hours I would have went somewhere else. I wouldn't go to tino if you don't personally know him he seems to only care about his long time customers or family. Today was supposed to cost $120.00 Within 2two hours, the first call came in, it's now $325.00. !1 hour later it was $175.00. Thirty minutes and the call was for more. I am very happy how Tino have fixed and corrected the problem of my front shock absorbers issues that was messed up by another motor shop where I brought my van earlier to replace both of my front struts and shocks with brand new ones. Tino was also able to fix my long time problem with my transmission leak at a cost of less than $100 only. This transmission leak according to other mechanics who have looked at the problem said that it would cost me over $1000 to fix the transmission leak. Tino is an honest mechanic. I was referred to him by my boyfriend and have been taking my cars to him for about 4 years now. He tells me exactly was is needed and how much the parts cost and how much he will charge for labor. He has saved me hundreds of dollars over the years. The dealership has told me that I need things for my car that Tino has already done in past tune ups or he says he just doesn't agree. For example, just last week the dealership told me that I needed over 1k worth of work. Tino checked my car out and told me that most of the things were done at my last tune up. I did need a new waterpump, which they failed to see at the dealership. Total cost for everthing ( waterpump, brake flush, wiper change, bulbs changed and a few other small things) $350. If you need a good honest mechanic, Tino is your man. You will not be disappointed. Furthermore, he doesn't charge for diagnostics. read more
