I brought my car to Diaz Auto Repair for a smog check. I knew from the beginning I may need to change my catalytic converter. Diaz Auto Repair completed the smog check and it did not pass as I suspected. I asked them to run a diagnostic and the diagnostic revealed I needed to change the catalytic converter. The mechanic said he would try to find the part cheaper than what he quoted me. He was able to get me the part cheaper and was able to do the work in one day. The staff was very friendly and they went above and beyond to find me the best price for an expensive part. I usually only take my Kia to the dealer but I have not had a great experience lately. The dealer seems to have a shortage of experienced techs on staff. I definitely will bring my car back for oil changes and maintenance. But today there was a different person at the counter and for some reason he didn't check that the Monitor on my car where ready for the test causing it to fail, I feel like they just took $60 from me. On Thursday 10/14, I went to this auto repair shop letting them know that I had a transmission problem and I even provided them with the code that appears on the computer "P2859". They told me to schedule an appointment, which I had to get a week later on 10/21. During my appointment they took from 8AM to 4PM to do absolutely nothing and just give me the same response I took to them. When I asked for a discount they denied it at first, and only gave a $5 discount, which honestly is such a minute discount. The fact that they can't even fixed the problem and waited to tell me until they had to charged me is extremely unprofessional. P.S. Even after having my car all day, they didn't called me at all to update me on what was going on. I have been taking my car there for the past three years and so has my wife. The work is always perfect and the charges are rock bottom. And honesty, illustrated today. I brought my car in for oil change and safety check as we are about to drive to Florida. I asked about a radiator flush as can't remember the last time I had one. He said there's a test to see whether it's necessary "to save you unnecessary expense." That's the first I've heard of such a test. Just left from Diaz Auto Repair. Worst service ever. Made appointment a week ago because they only do appointment for diagnostic check. Mario had the pleasure of having me sit their for 5 hours. Appointment made for 9:30am and waited in their office to 1:30pm until I said, "give me the keys I will go else where". I'm sure it would of taken a few more hours if I did not say anything. Car was never diagnose and they will give me a discount if I bring it back. A $20 discount for the diagnostic check. I miss work because of the delay and a week for a appointment. Only $20 discount if I take it back. I think they should of offer a free diagnostic check if I get the repair at their location. What ever happen with customer service at Mechanic shops?
