Super happy with the turn out of my car hood getting vinyl wrapped. Getting in the tight turn for their establishment was trickier than I thought so I took the liberty of making a video to help future customers/Yelpers. The place due to Covid will have no waiting room inside; and so I waited on the bench right out front. I actually stumbled upon this business on IG. I thought my nephew brought his car here for vinyl but he came here for window tinting. After hearing good things from this and noticed the awesome ratings on Yelp I knew I made the right choice. I made a reservation very easily by booking on their site found on IG. I came here on Presidents Day and good thing since other businesses were closed so I could park by their garage. The end result looked amazing. Car looks like new again! I figure anyone wanting to freshen up their ride, the price is right and is a great alternative to a paint job. Not sure who Koa was but the employee who installed my vinyl said it may be recommended to just hand wash instead of using a machine car wash. So if that is something you cannot do then maybe vinyl is not the best choice for you. They do also disclaim that if there are paint chips or dents they don't refinish so maybe do that before you come in for your appt. You can choose from different colors of vinyl in matte or gloss. I chose gloss black for my hood. If I decide on keeping my car longer I will end up doing the roof and hood. They also do options for clear wrap! Give them a call and support local! HIDDEN GEM FOR GLASS TINTING A few days ago, I bought a new car and immediately missed having window tint to protect against heat, glare, and the feeling like I was in a glass fishbowl with people staring. My usual tint shop is in Kakaako, but a friend recommended Tint By Koa in Kaneohe, my hometown. With gas prices high and trusting my friend's advice, I decided to try Tint By Koa. Although the shop isn't visible from the road, it's easy to find if you follow these directions: Drive east on Kamehameha Highway at the intersection with LikeLike Highway. Look to your right after passing Windward Nissan, and you'll see Megumi's, a barbershop, and a tattoo shop. Turn right immediately after the parking lot, and you'll be on a narrow, pothole-filled road with many businesses in the distance. Tint By Koa is about three-quarters of the way down on your left. These guys have a busy schedule, so don't go without an appointment. You can call or make one online. They're popular, so unless there's a cancellation, don't expect to get in the same day. They are closed on Sundays and Tuesdays, so plan accordingly. I arrived a little early for my 9:30 appointment and walked into the shop, where two guys on duty were having breakfast. I had heard about tinting from a friend and she told me how impressed her car seemed cooler with the tint. I am off for the summer and wanted some methods to cool down my 2013 Nissan Leaf. I forget how I originally contacted them, but I asked a couple of questions before I made my initial appointment. Koa responded really quickly and was able to answer my questions and quote me a price. Now I could arrange an appointment to visit the garage. Prior to my appointment I would get a confirmation and text reminders which is always great. I, coming from Nuuanu wondered if I should go on the Pali or the Likelike. I made sure to ask Koa, and he recommended the Likelike. Two days before my appointment I made it a point to tell him that I am deaf and I don't do well with masks in this covid world, and mentioned what he could do to make things easier for me. He said he would take care of me! That was pretty reassuring to hear. Day of my appointment. I use Waze to tell me where to go. I ended up at ace hardware which is too far, because I didn't quite trust where I was going. Had to U-turn and try again, this time to some hidden side street with a bunch of car detailing garages and the kokokahi gym. Koa's garage was opposite the gym. Had to wait a while since Koa was talking to another client, but after a while Javan, Koa's cousin showed up and took care of me and my car. They were not wearing masks which was a big help! I assume they've all been vaccinated, like me. He asked which tints I wanted, never pushy, I told him I wanted everything legal. Javan asked about my windshield and I asked what the prices were, $40 for the top and $110 (I think) for the whole thing. I hadn't planned on spending more than $400 so I said does the top work. He went to take a look and said because it's a Nissan, the space around the mirror is bumpy and has those black dots and that would cause the tint to peel off. I asked him if he still recommended I do it and he straight up said probably not a good idea. So I just went with my 4 windows and my back window. I asked him how long it would take, his estimate was an hour. I had already asked prior to my appt if he had a waiting room and they said yes. Went into this cozy under the stairs nook, that has a TV with a Roku and Amazon remote. I told Javan I got a Roku at home don't worry about me. Picked a movie that was hour and 45 mins. There was a bit of a delay in working on my car, but The movie was nearing the end when he said it was ready. Car looked nice and blinged out. Javan didn't put stickers on my car window buttons as mentioned in other Yelp reviews but he did mention to me to not open them for 2 days. I don't know what happens, but I don't want to mess up my beautiful tint! Arrived home and wanted to write a Yelp review but realized I didn't know the dude who took care of my cars name. Quickly shot Koa a Facebook messenger question as to who worked on my car.. he replied at 6am this morning. Would recommend this place for tinting. Great overall service from them! Been through lots I mean lots of tint shops for the various vehicles I've owned over the years. By far this was one of the most easiest fastested most detailed etc etc shop ever lol Appointments done online so select days that are available and times you want. You'll get reminders till your appointment day. That was big plus and sure easy to make an appointment. Some of these other shops can't even call and get someone to answer! Once there go over your tint options no pressure at all you want the basic they'll put the basic and won't push for top of the line. Even though I went with a 2nd to top. Good clean shop fast work 4 door car was done in under 2hrs. All work done including warranty was explain along with the paper work. Some other places I went nothing was written done or signed for the warranty. Here your name add phone and car info is listed for warranty. Very fair prices for quality work and tint products. I needed to tint my front windows cause of the new tint laws. I made appointment on insta thats instagram for u older people very easy to do. I Show up 15 minutes early. Of course he had a another job. He started my truck right on time exactly. I went to get a snack at Megumis but they were closed early that's another review. Came back he was half way done finish withthin a half hour as he said. There is one catch just be aware the priceing on his website is not ceramic so there will be a up charge. U pay for what u get. I am not one to take the time to write a review about a company. But the way I was treated by Koa's staff this past week really got under my skin. I've been coming to "TINT BY KOA" since I purchased my 4runner (From MACKY) back in 2017. I've been to this place for tinting services 6+ times since purchasing my 4runner. But what I experienced MONDAY was very disappointing. I had an appointment to tint my front windshield (FOR THE SECOND TIME, due to my first windshield cracking) at 8:30am on monday morning. Mind you, I made this appointment 5 days in advance. I showed up to the shop at about 8:28... I patiently waited until 8:50 to call and text the number provided. NO RESPONSE. Finally at about 9 am Koa's employee calls me back and is wondering if "Im still in the area?" -- OF COURSE I am, I took off work to BE at this APPOINTMENT. He then proceeds to tell me come to the shop and park my car in tint garage. So, I back my truck into the tint shop, get out and speak to Him about what I wanted done. I tell him " I am back to tint my windshield again, as my other one cracked." He then gives me a quote of $200 CASH ONLY!!!!!!!!! (Thats 50$ MORE then I paid last year for this service at this SAME shop.) I didn't bring enough cash, so annoyingly I walk over to foodland to take out more cash. 20 min later, I get a text stating my Truck is ready. I return to the shop, and clarify with the employee.. "Are you sure its $200, I KNOW it wasn't this much last time." He tells me "awh, yea sorry...prices went up." Im pretty irritated at this point, DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD THE AVERAGE PERSON HAS TO WORK FOR 200$??!! I pay my TWO HUNDRED dollars in CASH, Get in my truck to drive away... But right as Im getting in my drivers seat I realized their tools they use for the tint job were still laying on my seat. SO I grabbed them and said "oh, I think these are yours." He replies with "oh yeah, my bad." .. THEN, I proceed to pull out of the garage and I noticed my rear view mirror was sitting on my passengers seat. ?????? I got out of my car and kindly asked them to put it back on. Loyalty isn't important to this company, and apparently professionalisms isn't either. Since when can we get aways with Showing up 30 min LATE for work, do a half ass job, then demand TOP DOLLAR for ONE window. Like I said in the beginning of this rant, I am not one to write reviews but I feel we need to be holding businesss accountable for how they treat LOYAL, RETURNING customers. They lost my business and my hopes are that in you reading this.... you choose to do your research before committing to this or any tint shop. I had my 2020 Tacoma tinted by Koa and the boys. First impression of the shop was good. Clean and everyone was friendly. They also have a waiting room with TV, AC and gaming consul. The price is hands down a fantastic deal. I got the ceramic tinting for 300. They were done in about 45 minutes. It's quick because they have a great system. I have been reading great reviews and decided to take my 2018 Forester for some front window tinting since the back ones were already done. My appointment was at 12 and by 12:05, he was showing me the options. No pressure to decide on the tint but when you feel the heat reflectivity, it is easy to decide which one you want. I went with the premium one since my car is my office. By 12:35, the job was complete. There was some streaks left on the door after but easily wiped off with some interior trim treatment. Let me first start off by saying I messaged Koa on both yelp and instagram THIS MORNING. He responded a few hours later (probably because I messaged him at like 5am, haha). Here's some info: I just bought a new car. I need to do some serious modifications to make it perfect (even though it's already damn near close). Anyway. I message Koa asking for price quotes on tinting my newborn in the darkest legal, all the way around, windshield included. Koa messages me back on both media outlets and shoots me a text message stating that he can take my car TODAY. I get off of work at 12 noon --- and he can and his team can take me at ONE! Like, dude. I love you. I got to Tint by Koa. They were finishing up on a pickup and it looked really good. One of the guys jumped right out and asked if I needed help. When I explained that I was there for tint, he showed me the 3 options available and explained the differences between the films (with regard to heat distribution, uv, etc) I opted for the almighty and more costly ceramic. Please note: Tint By Koa IS NOT the cheapest place to go. However, they arent the most expensive by any means - and you get probably some of the best quality I've ever seen. For comparison, I quoted at about 10 places, TBK (the shortened version of Tint By Koa that I've dubbed it at this point, lol) was in the middle. The cheapest place came in about 60 bucks cheaper (to tint all around, ceramic, including windshield), however, their reviews were mixed at best and after reading some of the reviews and viewing photos, 60 bucks is nothing if it means avoiding headaches, cut windows and a possible assault record. I've gotten all of my cars tinted, all by different companies. TBK has THE BEST quality around, hand down. I wont lie, there was some interior "mess." As in drip Mark's on the dash and door panels. And I did have a scratch on my dash that I didnt have before -- BUT -- it's like a hairline...and nobody is going to see it. I'm not that anal. I was just thrilled at their quality of workmanship and speed. But more over, their customer service is fantastic. If you're looking to get tint. If you're looking for the best. PLEASE, go to TINT BY KOA. They wont disappoint you. These guys are laid back, friendly, professional and know their trade. Best part -- their product and work has a warranty. Thanks guys. read more

First off, i just want to say thank you Koa for tinting my beautiful brand new 2018 Camry! Making an appointment with him was a breeze. Messaged him on Instagram and he fit me in his schedule. My appointment was early in the morning(8:30a). Knowing that I live in North Shore, I had to wake up early just to get to Kaneohe. As I got there, I was 30 mins early.. but it's all good! I told him what I want and he made that happen. Also he's super cool! The outcome was great and just the way I want it. I told him I wanted it dark but not too dark. He did 35% all around(legal tint). Definitely recommend you guys to go to him! He's fast and efficient. It was in and out in 45 mins. Im super happy how my car looks now. Koa responded really quick with a quote for tint removal & new application and I had no problem scheduling an appointment. I did have a little trouble finding the place (even though I've lived like 5 minutes from it my whole life) but I'll blame that on my inability to understand Waze at times. Anyway he talked to me about options and explained some stuff I didn't even know was a thing, like electronic interference (I've just never thought about such things), and he didn't push anything on me but I ended up wanting to get the top of the line whatsits for my husband's car which has had some seriously messed up tint for years (couldn't see out of the driver's side window!) I had some other things to do that day but was able to leave the car there long after he was pau which was nice not having to stress about picking it up at a certain time. I believe he was done within a few hours though. The tint itself looks flawless. I found the price reasonable for what I chose.
