I came to Keith with a very specific problem: a previous tint was so dark that our shop looked less "let's check this place out!" and more "I think they went out of business." Not ideal. Keith was incredibly quick to respond, quick to come out and give me an estimate, and most importantly--actually listened to what I was trying to solve. We bake our own bread, so while the sun is busy heating the store from the outside, our ovens are doing their very best to heat it from the inside. We needed serious heat rejection without sacrificing the visibility that lets people know, yes, we are very much open. Previously we had a dark tint requiring our window flair to be applied on the outside. However, "fans" kept stealing our signage at night, leaving big, empty, blacked out windows, where customers would smoosh their nose into the doors just to see inside! Thankfully, Keith recommended a beautiful tint that hit the balance perfectly. It blocks enough exterior heat to make a real difference, while the visibility through the glass is still incredibly crisp. The store looks bright, open and alive again, and I could not be happier with the result. Quick to respond, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and an absolute expert with his recommendation and installation. Keith aced the whole thing. Responsive? Ace. Knowledgeable? Ace. Recommendation? Ace. Installation? Ace. Knowing exactly how to glow up a little store front with luxury vibes tint on a budget? Absolute ace. Ace Glass Tinting is very appropriately named. Keith is an ace at what he does, and I'd recommend him in a heartbeat. He's my tint superhero for life. Julian texted and called recommendations prior to the $35.00 estimate visit. He was able to diagnose the problem right away and fixed it. He also suggested we keep the plastic chain stating even the stainless ones rust. He gave us suggestions on how to prevent future problems and tightened up the brackets. He kept me in the loop after informing me that part needed to be ordered from the manufacturer. Once the part arrived to his company, Julien called and offered multiple appointment options. He returned to our home, installed the part and tested the repaired shade to confirm it was properly synced with our other shade and to our wall control unit. We will absolutely call Julien at A Shade Above if any of our other motorized shades need repair. My wife and I highly recommend you do the same!

Steve tinted (ceramic) 8 windows in my bedroom and showed me the difference in heat transference through untinted and tinted windows with his hand-held BTU meter - around 75% less heat coming through the tinted windows. He also offered mobile services, given that I had covered parking to ensure the quality of his work. Communication is easy and he responds quickly. He was able to fit me in the day after I inquired. HI Tint Guy is located in Kapahulu and is right off the main street. Super easy to find. He doesnt double book so he can ensure that your car is in and out in a timely manner. He's got a small waiting area if you choose to hang out, though, there are many places to venture off to. I wont go into detail on pricing, but I can positively tell you that Daniel was not only competitive, but fair. Best part, he uses only the best tint film and he provides a lifetime warranty on his work. If it bubbles, rips, etc, dont worry, hes got you covered. Daniel took care to save my window stickers (which I told him to toss anyway). He is knowledgeable on Hawaii Tint Laws and will tell you exactly what he thinks you should go with if you are unsure or want your car to be darker but legal (or not). I did all of my window -- both windshields included. Daniel completed the work in about 2 hours. He also ensured that the interior of my vehicle was cleaned up and spotless from any water residue. I love that he places a sticker over your window controls to remind you not to roll your window down. I will definitely be recommending HI Tint Guy to anyone that needs tint. He quoted me $80 for tint removal which I had an illegal tint, which did not pass inspection. He took approximately 2 hrs to remove it. But then I decided since I was there, I better tint the whole car with legal tint. He was going charge me $300 bucks for everything, but then up the price cause I used credit card, to $320, plus tax... came out $335.18...at first I gave him rave reviews. But the next day, I found out my car antenna got ripped apart, mind you, it was storming that day, and I just went home afterwards and parked in my garage. It's a new car, and was never broken to begin with.... I would not recommend him to anyone... sorry Alan.

Greg reached out to me explaining that based on the video I sent, it appeared that the ceramic coating was working, but not how it should be. He asked if I could bring the vehicle in so that his team could wash it, and verify this in person. We agreed that I would drop my vehicle off on Friday. This will allow for a pickup on Saturday. Upon drop off, his guys, Zane and Kato accepted the vehicle and tested the ceramic. Right away, Zane said that it wasn't reacting correctly. I left my keys with them and was told that the vehicle would be ready for pickup the following day and I would be notified by call or text. Saturday -- Premiere is open until 6pm. Once 5pm came around I was admittedly starting to get a little bit nervous seeing as how I needed my car for work on Monday, and I knew they were closed on Sunday. I attempted to call and received no response. Living closeby, I just decided to head over. I got there about 540pm. Greg was there detailing the interior of a car. He had plenty of vehicles to take care of. He was friendly and apologized for the lack of communication, citing that he was swamped with the influx of vehicles. He explained that my car was "done" but that he, himself, had taken issue with it. When we approached my car, it was clear that work had been done. But upon closer inspection, there were water spots on my glass and streak marks on areas, exacerbated by the light from his cell phone flashlight. He was able to quickly wipe some of them off. He again apologized and said that he didn't like the work that was done and asked if he could keep my vehicle until Tuesday so that it could be completely redone. This I respect. Alot. For a boss to take ownership of their work and the work of their employees goes a long way. I left it -- picked it up on Tuesday. The car looks fantastic. Here's to waiting it out and see if the ceramic holds this time around. Very glad that I chose the boys at Premiere. Will update in a week :) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aloha all! Second time using the boys at Premiere Island Auto Detail. They did an amazing job on my camaro, that I felt it only right to use them for our SUV. My last interactions with Greg (the owner) and his team were nothing short of amazing. He is a personably guy. I reached out to them asking for an interior and exterior detail on my 2023 Mazda CX50. After some back and forth on the services, I ended up changing my service to a "basic" ceramic coating (which includes an exterior detail to prep it) and full interior detail. The price was amazing. Greg takes care of his customers. I wont mention it here as pricing can always change. As a reminder to anyone reading this -- its always a nice gesture to tip them, though, not required. Greg was able to take my car pretty quickly. I made the appointment for a drop off on Saturday. For those of you that don't know, ceramic coatings require a curing time, and therefore, I needed to leave my vehicle overnight. The garage is secure and under surveillance. It is easily accessible in the downtown area. I came back the next morning to pickup my car. It looked stellar! The lighting really makes the cars pop too. The exterior looked brand new (minus water spots that apparently weren't able to be removed from the 3m decals). The interior also looked great. I had some minor pet fur still embedded, but nothing to harp about. I noticed that the trunk space wasn't addressed though. No biggie. Now the reason for my decrease in rating: I want to start off by reiterating that Greg and his team are excellent dudes to work with. They are friendly, fast, and do good work. My Mazda, this time around, just isn't what I expected from them. I haven't been able to get back for the car wash because the weather has been awful -- so its been a little bit of time since the coating. There are some spots where the ceramic is noticeable. Particularly under the side mirrors, you can see the coating is still there and streaked on. The new formula that they used on this "basic" coating, definitely shows a difference. Maybe this coating only included one pass over, i'm not sure, but the beading effect just isn't there. Dirt and grime still clings to the car and it doesn't wash off with water. The roof doesnt appear to have been coated, but I could be wrong. The wheels were not coated. I am unsure if the glass was coated. The trim appears to have been coated but not wiped off properly. Anyway, do I recommend them? Absolutely. I still think they do good work at a great price. However, I would strongly encourage you to ask about their options for ceramic coating and not get a lesser package. Mahalo Premiere

I needed my car to be immaculately clean, and what he delivered completely exceeded every expectation. When I picked up my car, I was honestly in awe. It looked and felt brand new. (Called a few other company's prior and they wanted to push back my repairs since I was only repairing two windows). They explained every step of the way and any time they ran into any difficulties from the previous installers they informed me of them and already had multiple solutions. They didn't rush through the job at all and repaired things around the window on their own so that the rest of the area around the window looked just as new as the windows. I asked Yelp for a recommendation and Oahu Windows and Doors contacted me very quickly. They said they would send Nick, "our repair guy," out to take a look and give me an estimate on a repair. Nick arrived exactly at the appointed time, took a quick look (and listen) at my door and diagnosed the problem in a minute or two. Then, since the problem was a seal on the door, asked me if I simply wanted him to remove the seal to stop the sound, and gave me the pros and cons of doing so. I said yes and he removed the seal and put things back together. He gave me some tips on what to use to lubricate the door, as well as--if I ever wanted to replace the door--what I should look for and how to save money. Nick was knowledgeable, personable and effective in solving my problem. I highly recommend Oahu Windows and Doors.

This is a landmark business in Kailua, one of the few left that long time residents can recognize. That says plenty in itself. I've dropped off my pick up truck to be detailed prior to selling, and almost decided not to sell it. I've dropped my wife's super car off for a treat and Mike does not disappoint. It's a locally owned and operated business, so he has a life and might have to come in a little late from time to time, give the homie a break!! Went to get my Jeep tinted at 9am when I was told to come by. Stood there for 10 minutes while Michael spoke with another couple but didn't acknowledge my appointment although he saw me. Someone from the shop came out and told me Michael would be with me. Another 5 minutes passed and Michael still had me standing waiting for assistance. Left after a while because that was very rude and unprofessional. Definitely other places I'd rather give my money to. read more

When my husband told me that he had a pau hana with his boss and coworkers, I told him that I had…read moreno problem being the DD so long as he didn't vomit in the car on the way home. My husband laughed off my request and commented that he hadn't been a "Palu Princess" for the past two years and that the plan was to head home by 9pm. It was then my turn to laugh because knowing my husband, we'd be lucky if we were even home by midnight. By the time Friday rolled around and after awkwardly having to introduce myself as the "ball and chain" crashing my husband's night out, pau hana was in full swing. I can't even recall how many shots and beers/cocktails were ordered by and for the group but my husband was definitely starting to feel the alcohol. It wasn't until we hit our second (and final) bar of the night that I realized it might be time to head home. So one of my husband's coworkers helped me get him into the backseat of our car and as I drove off and checked the clock, it was only a little past 8:30pm. And since the only noise in the car was my husband's snoring, I figured we were in the clear. But as we we were about ten minutes away from home, I heard rustling in the back and as I asked my husband if he was okay, I was greeted with The Exorcist in full vomit glory. And as if the stench and sounds were not enough, the chunks splashing my shoulder closest to the armrest were enough to indicate that a simple Clorox wipe would not suffice. By the time we got home and I took a look at the damage, I realized we were going to need professionals. The next morning, I did a quick search on Yelp and Fine Shine Auto Detailing was one of my first options. I liked the fact that it was close to home and that based on the reviews, FSAD seemed to be the best kept secret in Kailua. So I used the Yelp app. to put in a quote request and waited on a response. Yelp also helped out by putting out the request to several other companies that may be able to help (via their Projects tab--super handy!). Alex W. from Clean Max Auto Detailing and Arvin I. from Detail Lab Hawaii were the first to respond with quotes and other details related to my request but since Alex's first available appointment wasn't until later in the month and Arvin was farther away than I would have liked, I held out hope that Fine Shine would get back to me. And almost like he had read my mind, Whitney had responded to my quote and asked that I give him a call. Whitney is perhaps one of the nicest people I've ever had the chance to interact with. While we were getting the details in over the phone, he was really good about getting info such as what work was needed, the type of car, when we could drop the car off, and billing (which I got a kick out of because Whitney initially thought I was a Uber/Lyft driver and one of my punk passengers vomited in the car and would need to be charged lol). My husband and I were basically able to drop the car off to Whitney within 30 minutes to an hour of our phone consultation and even when we met him in person, he was just as gracious and we had a bit of small talk (Whitney: "So what happened?" Me: "That's the culprit!" Hubs: "Yeah, sorry, I had one too many drinks...") before Whitney gave us a rundown of what he would be doing and told us he would have the car back to us same day. And sure enough, by 9pm, when we went to go pick-up the car, I could not have been more surprised at the work Whitney (and his wife) had done on our car. Since it was dark out, I initially thought that my eyes were playing tricks on me because of how shiny the exterior of our car was, but it wasn't until my husband had asked that Whitney had told us that he had of course taken care of the exterior as well as the interior because we were paying for full service. My husband and I just looked at each other in awe because it wasn't at all what we had expected and if the only thing Whitney could have done for us was to remove the stench, trust me when I say we would have been more than happy with that. But to see all the time, effort, and overall work Whitney put into our car, which took up a majority of his Sunday, it was obvious to us why people continue to go back to Whitney and Fine Shine time after time. If you are looking for someone in the Kailua area (and even if you're not from the area, the drive is worth it) to work on your car's detailing needs, I cannot recommend Whitney and Fine Shine Auto Detailing enough. Whitney is an honest man and a hard worker and the attention to detail and the results provided through his work is absolutely phenomenal. As a business, I feel that Fine Shine really does go above and beyond for their customers even if they're new like we were. Whitney constantly gave us updates throughout the day and even when it came to final costs, I still cannot believe we only paid the amount we paid for in comparison to all the work done on our car. Whitney is truly a miracle worker and we are forever grateful.

So I made an appointment to drop my car off for detailing (prior to leaving the island for PCS…read moremove)...but neglected to realize that this place was in Kailua. The owner was kind enough to reschedule his day and arrange to come to Waikiki to do the job at the last minute, which was amazing. He did a fabulous job - the car was spotless inside and out and he even managed to remove most of the evidence of my collision with a green pillar on the front of the car. My car passed the VPC inspection with flying colors and was so worth it.

I'm very, VERY disappointed and upset with the results of taking my car to this auto body shop…read more Initially I took my car there to fix the front and the side. I had gotten into a minor fender bender which damaged the front and then later backed along side a pole and damaged the side, all cosmetic stuff. One the incidents I reported to insurance, the other I didn't. Like I mentioned it was just cosmetic stuff that needed to be fixed yet when I got the estimate, they said way more stuff needed to be fixed than I thought but I just went along with it because I'd used them before and everything had gone ok. Also, it seemed very strange that they said it was you going to take over a week to fix when like I've said it was just cosmetic stuff because no lights ever went off in car indicating anything was wrong, but I just went along with everything because I assumed they were being honest and I don't know a whole lot about cars myself. So I got a rental and they fixed my car. When it was ready they called and said I could pick it up which I believe was on a Friday but then they called back and said they needed to fix something else and it wasn't ready yet. So Monday came along and they called and said my car was ready however I had to work the next two days and wasn't able to pick it up until Wednesday. You'd think that they would just say ok, see you Wednesday since really they're the ones that delayed me picking up the car in the first place but instead they insisted and told me I HAD TO pick up the car Monday. I told them that there was no way I could do that and again they insisted that I had to so I had to have my boyfriend go and pick up the car and I had to wait till Wednesday to drop off the rental which they assured me they would pay for the extra days. However when I went and dropped off the rental, Enterprise had received no call from them stating that they were going to pay for the extra days, so I explained to them the whole situation and they felt bad and so they comped me the two days. Not only that the day after my boyfriend Picked up the car from the shop I was walking around the passenger side by the mirror which they were supposed to have fixed and noticed a giant crack and scratch still on the back of the mirror. I called them actually I even went down there and showed them and they said oh we only fixed part of it if you want the scratch and crack fixed you're gonna have to pay for it. I think that's absolutely ridiculous. If you tell somebody you're gonna fix something you fix the entire thing not part of it and I don't see why I should have to pay for it. I think that's terrible customer service. I think they overcharged me and I think they fix things that did not need to be fixed just so they could charge me more. When my boyfriend went to pick up the car they told him only the bunper and mirror had been fixed but then when we looked at the bill every sensor in front of the car had been changed out. I believe if it's not fraud they're at least changing out their old inventory so they can get new stuff. I would not recommend this place at all and if I ever need my car fixed again, I will never ever go there. Also, at one point when I was trying to get a hold of them, their phone wasn't working And kept looping me back to the same message so I literally had to go down there in person just to ask Them something. So ridiculous and unprofessional. Oh and lastly they didn't put one of the emblems from the car back on. Baaaaaad service!!!!! DO NOT USE GERBER COLLISION IN KAKAAKO!!!!!!

Very minor fender bender - bumper and headlight needs replaced. Told me that because the at fault drivers insurance sent my car to another body shop for their estimate and I said that I *thought* they had removed bumper to see hidden damage. Gerber stated that I HAD to use that body shop - specially that I am "not allowed" to go to another body shop, even though I'm paying cash myself. They refused to even look at car for estimate and immediately cancelled my appointment. Other guys Insurance company gave me full payout since their estimate was more than the other guys policy limit. That means - I'm paying cash so not sure why a Tesla approved shop won't touch the car because another shop already looked at it. That's wild because they weren't even going to be working with insurance. (Btw I called other body shop again and they actually did not remove the bumper to look for hidden damage after all). ‍ I was just trying to find recommended body shop for my Tesla since I'm paying for repairs myself. Guess Gerber is not it.
