I have had the pleasure of watching Shino start and progress her tattoo journey. Over just one year, her work constantly improved. It took me years to figure out how I was going to memorialize my daughter in a tattoo. My daughter is half Japanese and her name is Koi (love 恋). I decided on a mix of playing cards - Japanese Hanafuda and Western. I sent some photos and explained to Shino what I was going for. The first draft was almost spot on. With a small tweak, I was ready to get it done. She even suggested adding a calligraphy version of the Japanese character for my daughter's name. Icing on the cake. The shop was clean, had a great vibe and the other artists were nice. Street parking wasn't hard despite the location. I couldn't be happier with her work! I just got my ears pierced. I think it's called a Tragus and it was not painful at all for me. I was nervous because of the cartilage being thick but Cheech is my piercing guy moving forward. I wanted to support an Asian owned business in my neighborhood, Ktown, so Bad Hands was just what I was looking for! This place is awesome and everything that you're looking for in a piercing/tattoo place. The owner, Highbie, is awesome and is the guy you'll want to see. He's super chill, down to earth, and just a vibe, ha. I came in for a helix piercing, and was able to go in the same day after calling ahead of time. I have to say that it did take some persistence to get a hold of someone over there and I did have to try calling them a couple times as well as messaging them on instagram before I was able to reach them. At the time, I honestly think they were just super short staffed on account of omicron so I don't hold that against them. The piercing process itself went super smooth. Highbie was quick and efficient, and it didn't hurt that much lol. All in, it cost me $50 which I thought was super affordable. Afterwards he gave me aftercare advice, and said that I should come back in two weeks so he can check on the piercing as well as swap out my piercing jewelry for something new if I wanted. His jewelry selection, specifically for helix piercings, were a bit limited when I went but he said he can order specific types of pieces for me if I wanted, and he would only charge for me the actual jewelry, nothing else. I got a septum and he gave me a breathing tip so It wouldn't hurt. And It worked! Went in to get a tattoo from the owner Highbie because an associate recommended him. I sent him a quote that I wanted on my chest which he was familiar with the quote so he was excited to do this piece. He ended up accidentally misspelling 2 words which I didn't realize the mistake until the tattoo was done due to poor lighting in his shop and the lightness of the stencil and font he drew. When I saw the stencil I couldn't really legibly read the words because of the calligraphy but assumed the text was correct due to the fact I sent it to him the quote on 3 separate occasions via text. Once I left the shop and looked back at the pictures we took I immediately recognized the huge mistake. I immediately called him and he initially apologized and said he could fix it. He refunded my money which I appreciated but he wanted me to come back the next day to get the tattoo lazered off which I couldn't because I was leaving for Mexico that next day. I told him I would come get it taken care of upon my return. Weeks go by and I return to town but was unable to get to his shop being overwhelmed with work and personal life. However once I got a moment I messaged him to schedule the appointment. At that time he refused to fix the tattoo because he insisted it was too late to lazer it off. He said because I didn't come a few weeks prior it was too late. I thought thats why lazer was created to remove old tattoos!?? Maybe I'm tripping but I know I've seen people with 30 year old tattoos get lazered and corrected. Instead of trying to help come up with a solution, he completely dismissed me and said there was nothing he could do and he wouldn't fix his mistake. I can understand if his equipment wasn't capable of lazering off the tattoo but as a professional he could have offered other solutions. And maybe recommended another place for lazer and then for me to come back to fix the tattoo. At the end of the day he was upset because he refunded me and he didn't get paid. I know this because he said to me "well you didn't pay for it so I can't help you". As a business owner and a customer service person, he handled this all wrong and could have still had a life long customer had he been more professional and willing to help correct his mistake. His actual art work is good but I would never go back to him with that bad attitude and the unprofessional manner in which he dealt with this. I would steer clear, especially if you are black or a woman. Disrespectful. read more

The owner Hi-B and his coworker Shino are the best. They are so kind and understanding! They made my experience really comfortable and fun. I was scared to pierce my ears but it wasn't as painful because he is really skilled. They have several cute piercing styles and he gave out after care tips. The place is super clean and also the price is super accessible. Also, after 2-3 weeks he recommends you to come back for a check-up and if you want to change it to another ear piece he would only charge for the piece but the replacement is for free.
