We would pick him up and he would be at a corner all by himself. Well that quickly changed once he started Little Genius. We were concerned that he wouldn't adapt, but first week he was already interacting. Even though it's a small location, that made him feel more at home. Mrs. Jean and Ms. Jasmin are always so welcoming and great with communication. His teachers throughout the year have been great and he has learning even more than my 2nd grader has at a CCSD school. So maybe not ideal at times for those what want to shoot some hoop.

I enrolled my child at Shenker after talking to all the parents I would meet at the park in my neighborhood who would sing the school's praises. I am happy to say, Shenker lived up to my expectations. My child does not speak English as his primary language, and I was worried about how that would affect him. Also if I might add, I would get unsolicited comments from other educators concerning my refusal to speak English to my child at home. I am an educator ( I have a Masters in education and another Masters in school counseling) and I knew he would pick up English just as I did. Upon meeting with Dr. Sharon, he agreed with my approach concerning my son learning two languages, and put me at ease. My son has greatly improved academically and socially at Shenker. He is so happy to go to school, and everyone in the front office knows his name, as they do with ALL the students that attend their school. Dr. Sharon has truly been a joy to work with, and I see how much he cares for his staff and for his students at school.
