Great happy hour! Nice pours of house Cabernet. We ordered the flautas the mussels., A shrimp taco, and an empanada and shared. Everything was delicious. The only criticism is that the chips are very thick and not salty at all. Very good salsa though. Excellent service. read more

First visit, very enjoyable time. Great atmosphere and the staff seemed very friendly. I hade the pobalano peppers, one Cuban pork the other shredded chicken. Nice size portions and very tasty. I'm not a huge black bean fan, but their's were outstanding. Wife had a burrito which she really liked. The other couples order got messed up so that was disappointing, they were going to fix it but they said no it was OK. Kinda surprised they charge for chips and salsa, maybe that's a southern "thang". But overall very good food prices were in line and I'd stop back if I have the opportunity. read more

I felt dull coming in and as soon as I took a bite of my food (the loaded yuca with shredded beef for happy hour and the beef empanadas), the flavors brought color back to my brain lol not being dramatic, this food is soooo good. I really don't understand the poor reviews. We used to live within walking distance of Tios and would come often--usually around lunch or early dinner, because we have young children. Food was always great, by far the BEST margaritas I've ever had, decor enhances the experience and the atmosphere is open and welcoming, and we always enjoyed the outdoor seating. Service could be a little spotty on some visits but never deterred from our experience. And the new chicken flautas are AMAZING! read more

Gave this place a second chance. While it's beautiful inside and out...the food has very little flavor. This is not real Cuban food. I had the poke bowl on plantains. The plantains were hard and cold. No flavor. Had the avocado appetizer...bottled ranch dressing. It was awful. As were the avocados, heavily battered. It's a shame they don't hire chefs because this place could be so good. Will not return. No spices, no spice no good. Bummer. Really wanted it to be good. read more

I really don't understand the last review of the food being fresh! The food is not fresh food. I watched the manager tell me that they were out of mussels; then proceeds to walk over to Kroger and buy it from the frozen section. Then served it to us. Their cleanliness is 0/10! It's disgusting to watch the servers sit at the counter waiting on dishes to be done while on their phones. Phones are the most disgusting thing so for servers to actually have them out and on the floor is a major health issue. (I'm a microbiologist). Additionally, I asked for a straw in the paper..... "I'm sorry we don't have any." I replied "They're right there." The rice is always hard like they scoop out the last bit from pot. I gave this place a couple of tries; but that's my fault. Went on Sunday at 4:30pm. Extremely noisy beyond normal. Waitress took order and asked a question. My friend repeated what she ordered which was a Chimichanga. The waitress repeated rice and beans. I ordered a Burrito. She received a Fajita. We told the waitress who did nothing! Asked if it was ok, my friend said not what I ordered. In addition My Burrito had no flavor. I ordered 2 tacos..one with Cuban pork (no flavor) and one with ground beef (no flavor) also ordered the appetizer of steak pincho and it had no salt or any kind of seasoning. My husband ordered the dinner carnitas. $20 bucks!!It looked delicious with the pork all crispy but had zero flavor!! The beans..no flavor...the rice no flavor. No flavor!! The cheese on the triple dip was hard and no flavor! The quac was just avocado and no flavor. I had the tequila lime chicken taco street style! The chicken was super dry to the point it was hard to eat and it said grilled onions and when it came it was fresh white onion. Said there was chili Verda salsa on it there was little to none. Husband had fish and shrimp street style same thing no flavor no grilled onions no salsa. The margarita flight was just okay nothing to write home about!! Welcome to Bluffton Tio's!!! We stopped into this new restaurant in our area. We decided to sit outside even if it faces the parking lot. (Tio's if you're reading this, put up some faux greenery partitions to block the parking lot) I digressed, Meredith was our server and she was so pleasant. We ordered the ceviche, ahi tuna and avocado. I have a blackened salmon over a salad. Everything was delicious!!! I can't wait to go back!!! We didn't have any drinks, but the ones I saw on other tables looked yummy... AND we saw a plate of nachos go by that were piled high and looked delicious!!! read more

Nice open ambiance, attentive and polite service, diverse and fresh menu options. I wanted to try the carnitas but I needed seafood. The salsa roja and pico at the table were fresh and delicious. Chips were ok, could be fried in-house to pick up more of the great salsa and dipping options (and to grab more queso!) I ordered a seafood burrito, it was gigantic and decadently wet with fresh queso and verde salsa layering the massive steamed tortilla holding it all together, yet still protecting its contents from the impending sauce until the last moment. This was definitely a fork-and-knife job. As I dug in, I was presented with perfectly cooked shrimps and scallops with fresh lettuce and pico. The chips turned out to be a better vehicle than the fork, so I switched to nacho mode (which I highly recommend for many other dishes.) Everything was pointing to a great dining find! Until I got to the rice. Now, I know the difference between scorched, burned, and even overcooked rice, and I can choke those down no problem. This was none of these things. It was like weeks-old freezer burned ziploc bag rice microwaved on high at 9:00am and left to sit under the heat lamp. It ruined everything it touched, I have no idea how that batch was allowed to go out. In my opinion that is unforgivable. It cost you 2 easy stars and mildly annoyed me enough to write a yelp review! Please just go next door to Kroger and buy a couple rice cookers or something. I'm rooting for you guys, please just fix this and we can forget this ever happened. ;) read more

Went because a friend told me they had margaritas flats... which they apparently had discontinued over night because my friend goes all the time. Anyways, besides that disappointment, we sat a good 15 mins without anyone ever coming to the table, we had to flag down a waiter. AFTER we flagged down a waiter, everything was better. I had an awesome time at this restaurant on taco Tuesday. The skinny spicy margarita was delicious. And others at our table that had the house or regular margaritas said they were great too. I enjoyed the shrimp and the Cuban taco. The Cuban one was my favorite all the spices and seasonings just blended so well together to make a delicious taco. We also enjoyed the trio appetizer of queso, salsa, and guacamole. It all tasted so fresh and the salsa was delicious. It's a nice medium kind of salsa that I think many people would enjoy Pete.
