Was looking for a place that 'might' serve a good hamburger. We use to go to Ma's in Leesburg, but they changed their beef and it is not the same. Still a good place to eat. Did not want a chain/fast food place. Did not want frozen burger patties. Wanted a place with just good cooking. We had seen this place several times going to Tyler. Always thought we might stop and check it out. So, when we left Tyler and hadn't eaten yet, it was a perfect time to stop here. Only one lady waiting tables but she was quick for the amount of people. Husband had a cheese burger with grilled onions (no up charge and whole rings grilled not chopped) and crispy tater tots. I had the beef burrito à la cart with chili sauce. I thought ordering à la cart would mean a smaller burrito, not!! Everything was delicious. This is a 'regulars' joint. Where everyone that lives close, and some that don't, come to enjoy good food and good company. Will visit here again. read more

We used to go regularly and enjoyed our favorite waitress Pam. The restaurant actually had become so dirty. Pam opened up a diner next door and it is so much better. Clean, great food and great service. Pam's Diner is a much better choice! read more

I was visiting family for Christmas and they suggested we go here as it's one of their favorite local spots. My grandmother loves their shrimp quesadilla. My husband ordered the shrimp quesadilla and I got the huevos rancheros. The service started a little rocky but our server was very nice and helpful as I have a pork allergy and she was able to help me choose a save option to eat. The food came out pretty quick and was delicious! I had a side of hashbrowns with my meal and they were nice and crispy. All the food was fresh and it was just like having a nice hime cooked meal. read more

I am in the restaurant in Winona my daughter supposed had a issue with paying so me and my brother is getting treat like trash short answer and last get their food I personally had to walk to the counter and get a refill of sweet tea and lemon She never offer a refill She never ask if everything was ok she stocking and never check on us as of yet Now baby girl just left and fill the tea before she left with no problem. We had a pretty long day and we were starving (so we thought) and this place was perfect for us. A local restaurant with the local Winonians hanging out. It's a bit like stepping into the past with a kind, polite waitress giving us the specials and good info for eating there. We enjoyed hometown comfort foods and both my hubby and would order those meals again. I had the hamburger steak and he had fried catfish. These meals came with a dessert- peach pie and blackberry cobbler. We plan on making it to breakfast sometime in the near future. read more

Been told bout this place numerous times. Finally decided to stop on on and hit an order to go even though at this point in time they allowed sit down dining. Ordered the CFS with a side of fried okra and mac&cheese. Came with a little peach cobb desert. The mack&cheese plus the okra was delicious. The CFS was ok. Definitely good on the portion side. The restaurant is not upscale. It is a well used country restaurant located on the main highway in Winona. The service is somewhat slow. They have breakfast items, some Mexican food, and regular American food like burgers, and more. The food is fairly good. I have tried several different items. They have daily specials, as well as menu items. Their salsa is too hot for my liking. One thing I do not like, is that they do not wash their menus between customers, adding to spread of germs in this covid era. The parking is bad with potholes, and only one handicap spot. The friendliness has a lot to be desired. It seems they are always short handed on waitresses. The prices are reasonable for what you get. I may add more later. read more

On a recommendation, my husband and I made the drive from UT Health for breakfast in between appointments. It's a homey place. On the down side no cream for the coffee- milk or packaged powder creamer only. The sugar top was rusted and the coffee mug cracked and chipped. Back dining room has smoking, can smell the smoke in the front dining area. The prices are very reasonable. The food was excellent and so was the service! Little roadside diner with a uncomplicated menu. We came here for breakfast, stack of plate sized pancakes, with good flavor and cooked perfectly. Side of sausage patties, standard issue and non remarkable. Biscuits and gravy. Gravy is the thick, powdered kind without added spice or actual sausage that is required to make a good gravy. Biscuits were light, fluffy, warm and had good flavor. Side of crispy, thick bacon. Prices are fair and our waitress was friendly, cute and attentive. read more

This place is a seriously hidden gem in east Texas. By far my favorite place to eat. The waitresses are so sweet and really good at what they do. The food is phenomenal. The breakfast- best breakfast for 100 miles. We drive 20mi to get here and eat. The omelets are huge, and hash browns are my favorite. The lunch special is fantastic. For 8$ you get a chicken fried steak, two fresh sides, and dessert. Also have catfish and one other option. They have Mexican food with chips and salsa, also great. You just can't go wrong here, and the prices are unbeatable. It feels like grandma is cooking for you. Consistently good service and food. The atmosphere may turn some people off, its old and outdated and they have a separate room where you can smoke but I grew up eating at places like this and I'm glad to see they still exist. The bathrooms are always clean. If that won't scare you away, which I suggest you get your food to go if it does, get in the car and go. Absolutely must take the time to check it out! read more
