What a delightful Mexican restaurant! There are 2 dining rooms to the left and right as you go in the door. The service was friendly and prompt. Prices are very reasonable for the large servings you get. Margaritas are delightful! You can get them on the rocks or blended. There were 5 of us dining for lunch and everyone's food was delicious and piping hot! Salsa is definitely freshly made, as is the guacamole. Decor needs a lot of work, sat in a booth and had 3 big lumps in the seat, very uncomfortable, chips and salsa came out, good chips would like a little salt on them, salsa had a nice sting to the taste but was runny as could be, No Cheese dip given! The main meal came and was warned about the hot plate, glad it was hot wish the food was, my enchiladas were warm at best, not seasoned at all that I could taste, rice beans were good. Not impressed, and a refill on my drink never came. No Military Discount so much for supporting the Troops, Not impressed won't be back. read more

We thought the food was amazing. It came out on a very hot plate and was piping hot. Hubby and I split the Acapulco entree, had the grilled onions and peppers (order well done), and a cup of queso for an appetizer, and enjoyed homemade coconut cream pie for dessert. It was all very, very good and the service was very good, as well. We were in the bar area and it wasn't fancy but it was absolutely fine. We are from Moore but will definitely make it a priority to eat there again when we are in the area. read more

First let me say I am very picky when it comes to Mexican Food. So we were in town for my sons wedding. We decided that we would all meet for lunch there today. I called ahead to give them a heads up that we were a party of 14 coming in! We got there and our tables were not ready but in all honesty it probably isn't normal to have a party that large on a Monday afternoon. Our waitress was great! Very patient, attentive and kept all like drinks filled!! Not to mention she got everything perfect! With that said the cooks also got everything perfect! The food is good Mexican and thankfully it was not Tex Mex!! They have great beans and their prices are very reasonable!!!! Everyone enjoyed their meal and there were no complaints! Second time not so much but edible Third time couldn t even eat it because it was too salty and ended up driving back to return it. The food, portions & price cannot be beat! The Chihuahua plate is SOOO delicious! The free chips & fresh salsa are also delicious. The staff was attentive, thoughtful & service was very fast. The next time I'm in Paul's Valley you can bet your buttons I'll be going back to Tio's! I highly recommend the Chihuahua & the Enchiladas Armando. Also, if you're inclined to queso - definitely order some because it, too, is seriously nomnom. Lovely surprise date night. First time at this restaurant on New Years Eve. Sadly, will not be back. I had taco salad and I promise it was tiny, with mozzarella cheese and it literally shrugged its shell like hey its all I got for ya. A dollap of sour cream on top of mound of cheese, weird hamburger meat, lettuce tomato. A spoon of all in a giant tortilla. Ranch was from a bottle which is an immediate thumbs down for me. I scraped all meat, cheese, sour cream off and dipped some of what was left in salsa. Completely grateful for my love suprising me with a date but after 3 years of never being there we won't be back! Now I know.....BTW, the babe ordered only beans and rice but specifically asked for flour tortillas but only after his beans and rice came was he told they were out of flour tortillas....tortillas..... Ate there for the first time last night...and 3 out of 4 of us were all throwing up on the way home. We were seated in the bar area when we got there at 8:15 because they were cleaning the dining area, no biggie to us. We started with ordering queso....it wasn't too bad, just tasted like off brand Velveeta with maybe some chili mixed in. I got Tacos al carbon which actually tasted mediocre and the rice and beans were good. But it did make me sick. My boyfriend got enchiladas and they were so GROSS he ran outside and threw up DURING his meal. They looked like they came straight from a microwave TV dinner and tasted worse than they looked. It's been over 12 hours and we still feel nauseous. We won't be back. It wasn't worth $70 at all. read more

Let me start by saying we're from Texas, so we have a lot of mexican food around; anything from "Tex-Mex" to the true mexican "hole-in-the-wall" restaurants. This last weekend, we spent most of Saturday in OK looking at land, and finally decided to head back home. Well, hunger called as we were on the way, just as we were passing a sign for Tio's. Ok, sure. We find the place, go inside, put our name on the list, and sit in what has to be the smallest hallway-waiting-area I've been in. Whatever, this isn't a review about square footage of the place, nor does it have any influence on the food. About 10 minutes later, we get sat and the normal chips and salsa fare are served as we look at the menus. Now, I judge Mexican food restaurants by their chips and salsa. If I dig 'em, I have a feeling I'll dig the rest. I wish this were the case here, as the salsa seemed like it was poured fresh from a Pace jar, albeit a somewhat spicier version. Despite the stereotypes of Texans, we do NOT like Pace, or any salsa like it. It was just chunky, void of much flavor other than intense tomato flavor and the slight kick it had. The chips? Yeah, way too thick, almost like the generic "Tostitos" chips available at stores. In fact, if you've ever had concession stand nachos, you've probably had these chips. They definitely did not have the "homemade" flavor, texture, or slight greasiness to them, which I've learned to look for. Now, the menus. Wow. I felt as though I was looking at the kid's menu due to the lack of variety. While I've been to some places that have way too many options, Tio's was on the very far opposite side of that spectrum. The normal fajitas, enchiladas, and burritos appeared with little else. Well, there was the "spicy beef" plate that I ordered but I'll get to that in a minute. Drinks were served promptly, with the beers also coming with water and a frosted glass, although the second round's frosted glasses weren't so frosty at all. Whatever, the beer was cold and who needs a glass anyway? Ok, the food. As I said, I ordered the spicy beef steak plate, expecting what I've had here in Texas at a true mexican restaurant. That dish had a nice spicy, marinated, and ohsotender beef fajita skirt steak sliced up with even more "spicy sauce" poured over it. What the waitress sat in front of me left me wishing I had ordered something else... As I scanned the plate, I honestly had to mentally question what I had ordered until I figured out what looked to be a breadstick was actually the chili rellano. Seriously. I would expect a chili rellano to look like that maybe if it came out of a package from Sam's or Costco but wow. As I'm typing this, I'm picturing it in my head and I still can't get over what it looked like. Definitely did not have any appetizing appearance and nor did it have any decent taste, as I didn't even finish two bites from it. As for the beef, I didn't get the previous glamorous steak, Tio's gave me some finely shredded beef with a very mild spiciness to it, on a bed of very generic "just tomato" flavored rice. Eh, edible but definitely not their "famous dish", or at least I hope not. I hate even using the terms "famous dish" in this review, as I'm thinking someone may just scan all of this quickly and think "OMG THEY HAVE FAMOUS DISHES.. LETS GO" and then hate themselves. The guacamole was a darker green than I'd like to see but was still edible, although it was literally just avocado on some lettuce. No tomatoes, onions, cilantro, or spices. The fiancee ordered a burrito I think and didn't even touch it after two bites. Her meal also had the shredded meat in it which she hated. I've had shredded meat, don't get me wrong. It has it's place in Mexican food dishes but they have failed. Gah, and there's a waiting list to get in this place??? read more

Every dish I have tried is great! The bar is a great place to meet and dine. I especially love the"Burrito Oscar". The chips and salsa are remarkable. This evening I dined at the bar. The Friday special was the "Tacos Carbon" which I ordered for the first time. It was a marvelous dining experience which I consumed with a "Fat Tire Draft" for my beverage. Passing through town and looking for a place to eat. This place had a full parking lot and cars parked all around on the grass so we figured it must be good! However, it was very underwhelming. The food is not even almost Mexican food. Not even Tex-Mex. It was more like (not so good) American food wrapped in tortillas. The salsa was flavorless, the chips tasted like grocery store chips. There were mushrooms in my burrito. (I didn't read the description carefully enough, obviously, but really, who expects to find mushrooms in a burrito?) Overall, it was a big disappointment. Used Yelp to find a place on our way to a high school football game. The reviews had us doubting but we tried it anyway. Wow! The service was excellent even during the busy Friday night crowd. The food was excellent! Salsa was very good. I tried their special "cilantro tacos"...PERFECT! My son had chicken enchiladas and they were fantastic. Wife had nachos and they were great as well. When traveling through the area, Tio's is a frequent lunch spot. I've liked everything I've had here from quesadillas to enchiladas. They also have a habanero salsa which is great if you love heat!
