Olga did a great job with our son's first haircut. She was fast, mindful about what she was doing and is good with small kids.

We decided to take our 5 year old daughter for her first haircut. A special moment for us as a family. Our hair dresser was Patricia. I can't express how rude and condescending she was. She ruined this for us. She was extremely rude to my wife and me. When we asked for her to cut our daughters hair just a little more, she got extremely defensive and spoke loudly. She was dismissive rude and made us uncomfortable . Lastly. The charge was advertised as 45$ we were charged 85$. Horrible place. Nobody like that should be cutting children's hair. read more

I took my son here for the first time last week. (Not his first haircut ever, but first time at Tipperary). We LOVE this place. We came around noon on a Friday so they weren't super busy which was great because my kiddo can get squirmy. Wendy cut my son's hair and that haircut took almost 45 mins, and I say that as a good thing. Like most 4 year olds, he has a hard time sitting still for long period of time. She was so patient with him, didn't mind stopping to remind him where to look or to stay still while she snipped. She brought him a toy to play with and got my help when he was struggling. And she was patient with me in figuring out the right length and shape for the cut I was looking for. She gave him gorgeous layers and cut off more when I asked her to bring the front/sides closer up toward his ears. She used her thinning shears to give his thick head of hair some nice bounce and texture. And at the end, he got a token to get a little toy from the gumball machine Honestly I couldn't be happier with our experience and with the cut. read more

Definitely love this place solely because of WENDY! I've gotten my sons haircut here a couple of times, I made the mistake of letting someone named Patricia cut my sons hair instead of Wendy and it was absolutely awful. My son is scared of haircuts naturally he cries screams, and is just not having it. Wendy can handle him, she's kind, patient and respectful. Patricia on the other hand had a lot to say under her breathe which I don't appreciate. My sons hair was choppy and she blamed it on him moving too much. Well sorry Patricia he is a kid. And well it is a kids salon you work at. Maybe try having a little more patience or find a different profession. Aside from my sons cut. She cut my nephews as well. And honestly their cuts were awful too. We ended up taking my nephews to a barber shop after leaving Tipperary to try and fix their haircuts. So $100+ down the drain for someone who just was having a bad day or I'm not sure honestly. But lesson learned! Most recently went to cut my sons hair and Wendy was so patient - we were her first clients of the day. She was quick but so patient if we needed to take breaks. My sons hair looks good even though "he moves too much" as a prior stylist said. We even let Wendy cut our babies hair it was his first haircut! And she did it so well! We were afraid of losing his baby face but nope she got it just right and our baby is happy no more long hairs poking his eyes. read more

I took my 2 year old here for his first haircut and I don't remember our stylists name but she was A TOTAL PRO. He squirmed and squirmed and hated it (I wouldn't have forced it if his eyes weren't totally covered by his hair!) and she managed to give him a great haircut with a super friendly vibe and in record time. I never write low reviews, but this one was necessary. To start of, my son likes this place for its free video games and kid friendly vibe. This is a review for Elizabeth--we never made an appointment for anyone else within this business. My wife found this place as it is one of the few places around our area that caters to children. We have made several appointments starting a year and a half ago with Elizabeth. She was cordial with the first couple of haircuts--listening to our corrections as one should when paying for a $45 dollar haircut for a child. As we continued to come there, her haircuts would become more rushed and would not be at the same caliber the first couple. There was one time where I came with just my son and the haircut was literally a rushed 8-10 minutes. Her body language and disregard for her work became more deplorable. She would also start giving an attitude if we asked to correct uneven sides or missed a spot where we saw that needed correction. We would come here expecting quality work on our son's hair as we come here prior to photos shoots, special events, or family trips. Also, whenever I would tip her after the haircut was done, she would't even give a "thank you." The reason I am writing this is that my wife called recently to try to schedule an appointment prior to my son's school photos. Elizabeth stated that she doesn't want to cut our son's hair anymore as she said that we seem unhappy with his haircuts. We never stated this or have given that vibe, all we do is ask you to fix certain parts of his hair we want fixed as my son, my wife, and I know which haircut we asked for--as for anyone who pays another skilled person to accomplish a task both parties agreed upon. Elizabeth, if you don't take honor or pride in your work and listen to your clients, I would kindly suggest to take a step back for some introspection and ask yourself if this type of work is best suited for you. My wife and I live our lives wanting the best in everyone and for them to become the best version of themselves, but given your attitude towards us and now not wanting to help cut our son's hair anymore because you can't accept our feedback--even when we constantly forgive you for your mistakes--your character at this moment is, for the lack of a better word, appalling. I give 2 stars to her, not 1, as I know she has the ability to listen to clients as she did in the first couple of haircuts. But what I don't understand is if someone who gets paid to serve clients for a specific task, why would you get disappointed or have an attitude if what we receive wasn't what we asked for or wasn't the same as used to be? I've been bringing all 5 of my kids here since they started needing haircuts. Elizabeth is the best . She is the only one that knows how to cut and style the kids hair exactly the way I want . She's so warm and friendly and knows how to handle squirmy toddlers in such a warm manner . All my kids absolutely love and adore her . All the staff are so friendly and the place is so fun for kids with arcade games and a play area with toys to play with to keep them busy . My daughter is 3 and she had her first haircut at Tipperary recently. My daughter has very curly hair, in addition she can be very shy with new people. When I called to make our appointment the person on the phone recommended Marilyn. When we arrived, as expected, my daughter started crying. I showed her the little toy area inside of the salon and we found a toy she liked enough to stop crying. Marilyn was super sweet and very patient. I sat down in the chair and had my daughter sit on my lap while Marilyn started to cut my daughters hair. Marilyn really won my daughter over! Not only was Marilyn able to trim her hair, she was also able to layer and style it!!! We were so happy with the results and couldn't believe my daughter sat through the entire process and enjoyed it. Marilyn is the BEST! Oh my goodness what a wonderful experience. My daughter is not neuro typical and has a great deal of sensory issues, we were terrified of getting her tangles taken care of and her first hair cut. My son got his very first haircut here and it will be an experience none of us will forget. The staff were incredibly friendly and the decor is whimsically perfect for young kids. You can't add a tip if you pay with card so be sure to carry some cash to thank your stylist. Brought my super fussy three year old today and Cheryl was awesome. My kid cried the entire time and refused to be touched but Cheryl managed to give him his buzz cut in less than 10 minutes and got the job done. Even though I did not have an appointment and just walked in, they were very accommodating. Lots of metered parking in front and they also have 4-5 arcade games inside, which is great for kids. My son's cut was $35 ( and I gave her a $10 tip since my son wasn't being easy). Would definitely come back! read more

I was excited to have my son join the Tipperary tradition as that is where - years ago! - my brother and I had our first haircuts. This wasn't my son's first haircut - as he has thick, fast-growing hair, at the age of 2 he's already had several; this was just our first trip to Tipperary. Unfortunately, the haircut didn't turn out great. It was uneven in places and way too long in the back; it came out like a mini mullet. I asked the stylist if we could fix it and she said - and I honestly don't know what this means - it would "shrink" as the day went on and not to worry, but if I needed to bring him back in for an adjustment I could. I decided to let it go, give it a couple of days and see how things went. No big deal. Unfortunately, after a few days it looked worse, not better. Rather than simply find another salon, I wanted to give the stylist the benefit of the doubt and go back to Tipperary, maybe trying to communicate differently the second time around. The front desk person (who was likely following a customer service protocol, to be fair) told me that I absolutely had to book the adjustment cut with the same stylist and therefore, we had to go by her schedule, not mine, and oh by the way there are very few openings. I informed him that my husband and I both work full time and that I would appreciate a little flexibility on their end, especially as this was something caused by one of their employees, not by me - he said he would do what he could. We found a time that worked for both - in his words he would "squeeze me in." Then about four hours later I got a voice mail from him telling me that actually we couldn't make it work on that day, that I had to either book with another stylist and pay for a full haircut or find a time with the original stylist based on her needs. Not "let's accommodate you" or "we will do what we can to make it right." No "we are so sorry for this inconvenience." For a salon that's been around as long as Tipperary, this just seems like a silly, stupid move. I don't know if this is an issue of poor customer service training or an unnecessary "do-over" policy but here's the deal - you made my son's hair look bad. I requested it be fixed. You gave me an unnecessarily hard time about it and gave me the impression you weren't interested in making it right. So, we won't be coming back. read more

Made an appt. for my daughter to have her hair done for a wedding literally MONTHS in advance. The day before, I called just to see if we could come in 1/2 hour earlier. They didn't have our appt. on the calendar. :-( Furthermore, they couldn't see us, they were booked solid. It was a Sunday so there was NOWHERE else we could go at the last minute, most salons are closed on Sundays. When I got upset & asked how in the world this could happen, the woman on the phone said, "It looks like your appt. was there but I can see it was erased." WTF??!?!? This is entirely for the receptionist, who is awful and must be related to the owner to have this job. When we walked in, she didn't say hello - just snapped "name?" and threw me a sign in card to fill out. Our stylist did a nice job with our 11 month old's hair, though we were disappointed we didn't get the "fun" chair. For $35 not including tip for a 5 min haircut, we were at least expecting a cute photo and certificate to save for his memory box. Our stylist took a pic, but when the receptionist printed it out she didn't bother to edit the frame so it cut off my husband's head. We politely asked if we could print the photo again and she rolled her eyes and walked away from us! She also made us wait for our sad little certificate for 15 mins while she (very slowly) helped another customer who had walked up while I was paying. I was a receptionist once upon a time, and know how you're treated when you walk in and leave can make or break a customer's experience. She ruined what should have been a special experience for my baby's first haircut. Oh she was also very rude both times I called so pretty sure this wasn't just an off day. read more
