First off, the food is fan-fricken-tastic. My Only real issue is location. It's in a crappy gas station and I didn't understand ordering process. You order food, take a receipt to gas station cashier, wait in another line and learn that I would have to wait again if I wanted a drink. The food is great and I will be gentle on my critique. Meat needs a little more smokiness and macaroni needs a little salt. I'm confused, maybe smokiness is in the sauces (that I never tried). The meat is good so why sauce?, is my theory on bbq. I finally tried this place out today. I got the Memphis style pulled pork sandwich and the smoked wings. I got both with the sweet hot bbq sauce. The sandwich would have been enough. It had lots of tender smoky pulled pork and a generous portion of coleslaw on top. It was completely delicious. The wings were tasty, but a little bland without the sauce and the skin was a bit rubbery. Next time I'm going to try the Redneck Cuban Sandwich. It sounds good. read more

My family lives about 5 mins away, and we pass by all the time, so we finally decided to give this place a try. The meat did not disappoint! I had the ribs, which were absolutely delicious and definitely give Fox Bros some healthy competition, in my opinion. Loved the vinegary bbq sauce. My husband had the brisket and pulled pork, which he said were also very good. The side, though, could definitely use some work. We had the mac and cheese, which had good texture but no flavor, and the collard greens, which were completely flavorless. It's in a gas station which means its the next best thing to a hole in the wall joint. The place is always busy so that is an encouraging sign. The pulled pork is really great and the portion sizes are excellent. They have a variety of BBQ sauces which is what makes the meal. I'm a fan of the Carolina mustard myself and we always get larger portions of the sauce to have for any home cooking that would benefit from a great sauce. I tried the half slab of ribs chased by 3 wings. I also did baked beans and green beans. Let's start with the sides. The green beans were not worth it either by flavor or by value. The baked beans I found to be unique as they were a bit sweet and had a strong tone of onion. I gladly could have taken on a larger portion of the baked beans. The wings were moist. Great flavor picked up from the smoke. I wasn't too keen on the texture of the skin. This falls to the category of it is what it is. I don't fault the establishment. I'm thinking next visit I'll try the half or whole chicken. The ribs. I found them dryer than I would like. I liked the Smokey flavor but not the sauce. We got 1lb of pulled pork, because for some odd reason I was craving it. Let me be honest. I can't eat BBQ just anywhere. I am beyond spoiled with having grown up with my dad competing professionally in the Georgia Barbecue Association. This means I have been eating competition BBQ my entire life. I know good BBQ. This is damn good BBQ. Hands down, no question asked this is some legit awesome BBQ. I really wanted to like this restaurant but the food was subpar. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with fries. The meat was bland however, the Carolina sauce did add some flavor. My "beef" was the cold bun and my fries were extremely undercooked. I brought my meal home and finished cooking the fries in my air fryer. I believe this restaurant could be better with some tweaking. For example, they have a deep fryer so there is no excuse for presenting "blonde" fries. They should be golden in color, seasoned, hot, and crunchy. The buns should be either toasted or heated in my opinion. The young lady who took my order was friendly. The young man who prepared my order was not friendly. He never made eye contact with me or thanked me for coming in. Customer service needs tweaking also! read more

But the people who work there are SUPER nice, and I'm sure the other dishes are good (the pictures sure do look tasty). The server was nice enough to let us try their collard greens and coleslaw too since it was near closing time. The collard greens were ok, but lacked a really good balance of flavors. Guys at the counter were friendly and knew their food so well ... answered all questions. Fryers down for repairs, but don't hold that against them. The pork was excellent!
