I am new to the area and was looking for a new nail salon. I made an appointment and when I got there my nail tech was Tony. Not friendly at all which I'm ok with. I asked him to cut them down a little. He cut them down way to short. I did try to communicate with him and couldn't. When he got to my next hand he asked how I want them cut. I told him they needed to match the other hand. He was not very nice at all. I told him I only wanted a light color pink. Because I thought the French would look ridiculous on short nails. When the time came to paint he proceeded to do a French manicure. I left there extremely disappointed in the way my nails looked. They honestly looked like stubs. I will probably not be going back there. Definitely not with Tony. Place was very nice but I like to go to same nail tech and wants someone who will listen and make my nails look nice. read more

I have curly hair, so it's been hard for me to find a stylist/hairdresser since mine moved away. She took the time to answer my questions as she scheduled my appointment. She was also the person that greeted me w/a bright smile. Rafael, took the time to listen to what I wanted-layered, blunt cut w/highlights. Right off the bat I knew I was in great hands. My mom, sisters and I always come to Tipsy's when we are in town. We come to Jupiter about 5-6 times a year and Tipsy's is one of our favorite spots. The service is great, location is easy to find, staff are professional and the atmosphere is fun! We love to enjoy a glass of wine while we get pampered too! Great place for hair and nails. I was here for a girls' day out thing with some friends. Definitely a cute place, especially to go with a group. I get that it's basically a bar where you can get your nails done, but even bars have soda-- if you don't drink, your options are water and coffee. Seriously, you don't have even a couple of cans of diet coke up in there? Boo. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially because some of my party was late. They checked in with us to get an ETA as they were busy, but they definitely weren't rude about it. I had a mani/pedi with Marlena (i think that was her name) and it was ok-- about average. I have been interested in trying the no-chip manicure thing, and I decided to upgrade to that and test it out. I wore it for a full two weeks-- it doesn't chip, but a lot of how it wears and looks depends on how good your manicure was, and mine was subpar. It doesn't chip, but it grows out (obviously), so if it was glopped onto your cuticles, as it grows out, there will be a little bit of "edge" that will start to peel (happened on several of my nails). If it's done well, I can see how you can be happy with two weeks of wear. Sadly, if it's a crappy manicure, who would really want that to last two weeks anyway? Overall a cute place to go with friends-- but as far as quality, there are better places. *as a side note, I was a newbie to no-chip (they use Gelish brand) and didn't really understand it-- I asked the manicurist if it was hard to remove, and she said "no! soak in acetone for a few minutes, then scrape away- comes right off!". Well. I live out of state and I had the mani done on vacation, so after 2 weeks, I went to a salon to get it removed because I figured it would be easier than doing it myself. It. Took. Forever. They soaked my nails in acetone for 5-8 minutes, then started scraping the polish off, then kept putting me back in the acetone. Eeek! And the scraping-- it's not like that stuff just comes off. I mean they are literally SCRAPING your nail. And then, they take a gritty nail file and file the rest of it off your nails. Can you imagine what that does to the nails? Yeah. Mine are finally free of polish but they look like shit. I wouldn't do it again. read more

Haven't been here in a while but I didn't know appointments were basically necessary. Walked in and there were only 2-3 people getting services but they acted like the whole place was packed and they didn't know if they could fit me in. If appointments are required I feel like it should be advertised that way online. The service itself was very mediocre and definitely not worth the over $50 I paid. I did the aromatherapy pedicure, the menu described it as a 45 mins pedicure with a lavender essential oil paraffin and an extra massage but my pedicure barely lasted 25 mins and I noticed when I got home I had clumps of wax from the paraffin all up and down my legs. Unfortunately the one part I was looking forward to, the extra massage, definitely did not happen, the pedicure felt extremely rushed and the polish was not cleaned up from the skin around the nail. I wore sandals out of the salon that the technician helped me back into yet there are pieces of cotton fuzzies stuck all in the polish and the polish is clumpy! Fiancée and I went last night for our first time to get pedicures. The decor is straight out of South Beach. Cute and up to date. Several t.v.s playing music videos. They have a tiny bar and limited drink menu- but this helped calm my guy's nerves being his first time! We had a few drinks while getting our pedicures which added to the relaxation! The massage chairs were awesome! I got the basics pedicure which was on special ( Tues & Wed) for $20. I got my guy the Aromatherapy pedicure for $45 which included parafin wax. He's a golfer and loved it! Trying to work him up to getting a massage-baby steps people! They have evening hours which is great- our services were at 7 pm. While I love the concept of an in-salon bar and comfortable bartop manicure service - on both counts I have come away extremely disappointed with the quality. Got a basic mani/pedi here...$50 is way too much for what I got. The girl that did my mani/pedi didn't speak English and therefore there was no conversation. My fingers were not impressive at all. They had bumps and my cuticles look disastrous. The pedi was better, comfy chair, and she did nice work on them. Only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because I loved the actual salon. Tipsy was my favorite place to go to relax, get my regular weekly pedicure and manicure. While I usually went to the same person, this one particular day I was in a hurry and could not wait for him. So I went to see another tech. Just to spare you the long story, I stopped going there because of a small dispute with the owner. She got upset with the girl that was doing my nails for speaking spanish! SCREECCCHHH! Wait! You can't speak spanish but you can speak vietnamese with the other nail techs, laugh loudly and barely be able to communicate with your own customer?! Anyway, so I was very very reluctant to go to tipsy after not being there for a year but since my son was getting a haircut next-door I figured I would pop in. What once was a very cute, well up kept salon now looked like many others. Dirty floors, dusty decorations, and worn chairs. The hostess, asked me if I wanted something to drink as she was walking away. Didn't even wait for my response. I went to sit in the sitting area, and watched her take my glass to a chair, then a couple of minutes later pointed and told me my water was at the chair (somewhere over there). My nail tech was so sweet! Gia, was very pleasant; I felt that she really took the time to take care of my feet and respected my time by allowing me to enjoy my pedicure. Oh, let me not forget, when I took a sip of my water- the glass smelled like eggs! I am suspicious that they are not even washing the glasses with soap and hot water! When I went to the bar to get my manicure. It felt really overcrowded. You had nail techs talking to one another in their language, washing and filling up their supplies on counters. Went in for a quick girls getaway with my friend. I'm a nursing student who wears sneakers 7/7 days of the week and am not allowed to have painted nails. I wanted an easy mani-pedi. Since I'm a student I'm unable to get my nails done very often because I don't make much money. I don't remember exactly who did my nails, but she was not very nice AT ALL! She didn't make me feel relaxed or welcomed. She was trying to talk me into doing color on my nails for 10 mins and was not understanding when I said there's no point because I wear sneakers all the time and I didn't want to mess them up. Finally, she stopped asking me and forced me to go start my manicure even though my friend wasn't done with her pedicure yet. While I was getting up she then said "Ew. Your eyebrows" I'm not a salesperson, but that's not the best way to sell someone on getting their eyebrows done by you. I was super excited to experience this Salon with my daughters .... We made appointment and arrived 15 minutes early. While picking out our polish we were rushed and we stated we would like a moment to chose a polish color. The Associate again persisted several times and insisted we sit to begin the pedicure, again, I stated we arrived early may we take a moment. My daughter had a glass of wine and I thought that would set the tone for the appointment, but it was over and done quicker than any pedicure I've ever had, super disappointing. Ironically, I had called to upgrade my pedicure and it wasn't completed because there is NO communication there. However, when checking out, they included the extra charge and I had to validate that I didn't receive the upgraded pedicure. TERRIBLE SERVICE! I was shown one table to get my DIP off, moved to the bar area and left alone for an HOUR and HALF. An HOUR AND A HALF! I know it takes some time to take the dip off, but NO ONE came to check on me until it was about a half hour left until closing, very rudely asking if I wanted a manicure and then checked my nails, all of the dip was off but she left me for another 10 minutes before someone quickly took off the foil and painted my nails the color I wanted. I went to get my nails done there a couple days ago and now I currently have a fungus growing underneath my nail where the acrylic is. When the lady doing my nails pulled out the tools to start, I saw that the instruments were extremely dirty and when I asked if she could clean it she just wiped it down with a dry wash cloth. Although the nails do look good, the fungus under my nail really is the cherry on top of that ice cream sundae. read more

I had my birthday party here because, frankly, I love a cute gimmick; I am a sucker for girly advertising this I do admit. Tipsy is a salon where you get your nails done at, yes, an alcohol serving bar where you can sip your pink martini while getting your nails painted Barcelona Red. The manicurist stands and does your nails like a bartender would serve your drink. The pedicure area has ample room so that if you're super popular and want to be surrounded by your posse, (if that's still what the kids are saying these days) you can take over and get pedi's all at the same time. Since I was the birthday girl and Suzanne is the friendliest loveliest hostess ever, I got my pink mimosa complimentary style. For my Mormon friends (I'm serious) sadly they did not offer any non-alcoholic beverages, which meant they had to go next door and get some. I would just suggest that maybe they keep some ice tea around for that purpose. My manicurist was amazing. He was so friendly and had a great sense of humor. His name was Tony and I recommend him wholeheartedly. Would I come back? For sure, especially on manicure Mondays where it's discounted to $10. Otherwise, with pedicures adding up to $30 and manicures at $15, this is no weekly trip. It was perfect for what it was: a cute girly place where my friends brought pink cupcakes and we sipped pink martini's and mimosas while getting our nails done for a special occasion. I got my nails done here yesterday. My pedicure probably took less than 30'mins and I got dip it's. I had my nails soaked off and then my nail tech just left me and I sat there for 10 minutes before asking the receptionist what I was waiting for. She was very rude to me. I wanted periwinkle on my nails and it came out to be blue sparkley and I hated it! I asked her to put a dark gel color over it and she did but already today ALL of the gel is off of my nails and I'm stuck with ugly blue nails. Great for hair. Go to doniel!
