Like many Yelpers I sometimes fear going to the auto shop because I'm worried about being hassled about repairs that I might not necessarily need or be upsold on extras for the car that are also unnecessary. After some research on Yelp I found that Tire Boss had overwhelmingly positive reviews for the services that I was looking for and my experience was consistent with others. I bought a car fairly recently and had developed a very slow leak in my front tire. I brought it into Tire Boss where my technician Eric greeted me in a friendly manner and proceeded to inspect my car in a short amount of time. Once he was done inspecting the tire, he explained to me that he found a puncture and quoted me a price to repair it which was lower than I expected to fix it. He did not push for any other unnecessary repairs and I even asked if my wipers needed replacements, of which he provided a detailed explanation of why the replacement could wait with an explanation of when I should get them replaced (when streaks appear). Once I agreed to the repair and price, the team quickly performed the service and I was ready to go -- in and out in less than 1 hour including a short wait. After it was done, Eric proceeded to check me out with an explanation of the services performed including filling up all the tires to the manufacturer's suggested pressure and pulled up the vehicle directly to the door. Overall I was quite happy with how quickly service was performed, the reasonable prices, no hidden fees, not being upsold on any items, and having the same technician work with me from the beginning to end of the process. read more

Tire Boss - the best automotive care in the Chicago suburbs! Seriously! I drove my car into the parking lot in front of the Tire Boss in Wheeling, IL and carefully parked in one of the spaces. My 2019 BMW 330i needed all new tires and the BMW dealership folks made it clear that I had to put the exact same brand and type (run flats) of tires that were currently on the car. I was not about to pay more than $400 for each tire. I'm a IT dude, not a race car driver, and just needed some good tires, but nothing fancy! A few minutes later, I was hit right smack in the middle of my face with a deep dish of outstanding customer service. I was pretty exhausted at the time, after having worked all day, so I just figured I was hearing what my brain wanted me to hear, and the outstanding customer service was wishful thinking... Not so; Max messed around with the computer and very quickly came up with a brand and type of tire that would work well on my car! He placed the order for 4 new tires and said that they should arrive the next day as long as something doesn't happen with shipping, etc. He made no promises to have it all done the next day, but he knew I was in a hurry and he would shoot for the later in the afternoon the next day as long as the tires arrived and the installation went fairly easily. He told me to wait for his phone call the next day and then bring the car back. He called in the early afternoon the following day and asked me to bring the car around 3:00 and that would give them an hour to get the new tires installed. I got there, and again, he made no promises but hoped they would be able to to get all 4 tires mounted and balanced in the next hour. Less than an hour later I was in the car driving with 4 brand new tires that rode incredibly well. If anyone ever asks me where they should go to get their car worked on, I'm going to send them to see Max, and I will be taking my car to Tire Boss anytime it needs any kind of service. read more

I told Max I had an issue with the front driver side. I thought maybe the tire was going bad because it felt like it was "wobbling". He told me the driver side front tire was still good, but that I should replace the rear tires because the tread was low. He then said he would take the front tires and rotate them to the back. It is true that the rear tire tread was a little low, but didn't needed to be immediately replaced. I reluctantly agreed to let him replace the rear tires and rotate the tires. After installing the tires he took my car for a test drive and told me he did not feel any "wobbling" anymore. As soon as I got in my car and started driving again I felt the wobbling. So replacing the rear tires and rotating them to the front did not fix the issue even though he said to me after he did the test drive that he did not feel any wobbling. It is obviously some other issue with the car that is causing the wobbling other than the tires. I feel like he just wanted to make some quick money on some used tires. Lastly, when I called first he told me the cost would be $55 per tire balanced and installed which is $110. Then when he was done installing and took my credit card the total was $140.00. I will not be returning. read more

They found a slightly used tire at an extremely good price (you are able to get brand new tires, as well). There was no sales pitch. Nobody was trying to make extra cash by cheating me, or by being slick-talkers. Totally down to earth guys who help you find what you need, fix things up quickly, and get you on your way. I went into Tire Boss to replace a flat. The owner told me that one of the lug nuts was stripped and then proceeded to throw it away. He blamed it on the person who had put the spare on, who happened to be my husband. The problem is that my husband threaded the lug with his fingers. He did not have a power tool. After some investigation, I have learned that it is impossible to strip the lug without the user of power. The owner also told me that I would be fine without the 5th lug, which apparently is not the case. This person is not to be trusted. I took my car to a reputable shop to fix the lug nut, and he informed me that the used tire Max sold me was the wrong size and had dry rot. I drove around for a few weeks on a very unsafe tire. When my husband called him to ask for my money back, he denied everything and said we were just irate customers who could never be pleased! PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN YOUR MONEY!!!!!! read more

Called Max up with a issue I had with my mother inlaws Nissan Altima. He told me to bring it in and within a hour and a half, he diagnosed the problem, fixed the car and had it back the same day.
