Had a tire that was suddenly going flat every few days. Was pretty sure I would need a new tire (aka 2 tires to keep the balance), but asked if they could still take a look at the tire just in case there was somewhere that just needed patched. They were pretty busy but called me an hour later to let me know they found a hole, it's been repaired, and is ready for me to pick up. I went from thinking I would need to spend hundreds of dollars to just around $40. They were very nice and saved me time and money. I will absolutely be returning. read more

After an initial good experience I was very loyal with buying new tires at Tire Choice, then I made the horrific choice to also get my brakes done there. They started very loudly squeeling 3 days after getting them done. I returned and they replaced not able to figure out issue. It happened again. That location went out of business, so I took it to the other location. Where the manager spoke very poorly of the other store manager with racial digs. He replaced the pads saying his store etc was much better....3 days later you guessed it. Brought it back and he replaced them again (he was good at handling) but again didn't fix. He said he would have refunded me, but since it was at another store he couldn't and I would need to call corporate. I have called 3 times, and emailed and provided backup 4 times. I have paid so much extra money taking to dealership where they actually pointed out all my tires were the wrong size as well. This has been over a year and I have given opportunity again and again for it to be addressed. I would 100% not recommend any work at any Tire Choice or same brand store. Don't go to Tire Choice Auto Service Centers. Rude. Made appointment last night online showed up 10 minutes early at 8:20 on Bethel Road and mechanic wasn't in store. I called store number and he came out and first words to me were "you're rude". Went down from there. No one doing anything and at 9:15 still had not moved my car in. We went to Tire choice on olentangy river rd. I spoke with The manager Scott about doing work on my van. We agreed he was fixing my radiator and my overflow exchange tank for $700 after taxes. I was called and told my vehicle was fixed and ready. I arrived to the store to pay for services and pick the vehicle up after I swiped my debit card for payment I was told all that was fixed was the radiator? I said well that's not what we agreed apon prior to me dropping my vehicle off. We go to start the vehicle and lift the hood to find damages have been done to are front head lights the bracket frames that hold both headlights in were missing! We was told they never touched the lights. Well sir we didn't bring this vehicle in with the head lights falling out. Scott the manager ran out of the store walked up to the vehicle very aggressively threw the headlight into my engine slammed my hood down and told me to get the f out of here and never come back. Sorry sir but I paid for services that I didn't receive and my vehicle was damaged so I will be back. You don't get to lie to people and tare there vehicle up and thick there just going to walk away. I never leave reviews, literally ever, but if I could give this place 0 stars I would. I bought a new tire from there after having a flat and within a day the tire was flat again. The guy, Scott, was extraordinarily condescending when I showed him the issue and claimed my tire got slashed or I hit a curb (There is a 0% chance either of those happened because I have driven fewer than 7 miles on it since having it replaced by them. The air was leaking, so it was clearly an error on their part. Once I had him talk on the phone to a man, his tone completely changed and was no longer condescending (miraculously). There is simply no way this tire was put on correctly, and he refused to replace it or give me a deal. I may have used some choice language while driving away, I'll admit, but do NOT go to this place (especially if you are a woman) and do NOT trust the short guy named Scott that works there. read more

I've had the very best service from Tire Choice. My Dad was in town about a year ago and had a tire issue that they took on and had him back on the road the very next day. I had a nail in my tire this past weekend and they were able to assess the situation and offer me options based on their expertise. They had my car ready for me to pick up in a couple hours. I had work done and I seemed ok. But a light that wasn't on before came on and my steering was crooked and off center. I went back and they made me schedule another appointment and I did. During my work day(which makes my job harder and I lose money). The apt lasted over hour when I came back. The Manager Chuck said I had to buy an alignment and he would only do that if I bought new Tires. They said the light and steering will was all associated with this alignment. I disagreed and they wouldn't do any work that they messed up. Maybe all Tire Choices are different because I never had an issue with them before but this location on Olentangy River Rd were rude, over charging and argumentative. read more

I got cheated there recently for my brakes services. They frightened me that if I do not change my brake pad immediately it may fail and then charged me $663 just for rear brake pad and caliper change (384 for parts and 279 for labor for 15 mins job which is ridiculous). Forget about other cheap options, when I compared the cost with someone else who got serviced at Monroe at Hilliard, he had paid $100 less than me for the same service. I have one to one comparison of both the costs. When I complained manager about it, he was very rude. Lastly the job done was terrible, they didn't bother to check mileage, torque, and tire pressure, forget about 32 point inspection they talk about. Stay away from this place unless you want to get looted. read more

In 2017 i bought an entire muffler system including a catalytic converter. at that time I thought this place was awesome for helping me. Two years later my muffler has a hole in it and the heat shield fell off. The person at the front desk told me I needed the whole exhausted replaced again at a price of over $1000. I reminded him that I only just had that very same thing done just two years back and I have the receipts to prove it. he reply "oh, yes you did!" He then tells me that the mufflers are under warranty and that makes the price $600. I took my car in for a second opinion at Firestone. The showed me a muffler with a hole in it and a repair price of $400. You can guess the rest. read more

So I came here with the intention of getting new brake pads. Understandably, the men were concerned for other issues on the truck such as me needing new tires, old rotors, calipers, and the works. I understand everything needs maintenanced eventually. And I fully planned on taking care of these issues, just not this day. They proceeded to take off my tires to assess the situation and said they refused to even take my money just for the brake pads due to the fact that my rotors were so old and that one of the calipers needed replacing. They claimed that one of the calipers was hanging off the rotor completely. I came to find once my local mechanic looked at it that yes, I did need new brake pads, desperataly, but that my rotors and calipers were in fine shape and that this was completely safe to just change the brake pads. I understand that a business has to make money and I understand the concept of up-selling, but I don't respect the fact that I was lied to plain and simple. I assume because I am a girl, they thought it was okay to completely lie to my face, but unfortunately they only lost my business completely. Would've been willing to pay $100 for brake pads even though my guy at home does them for $20. But since I was lied to I don't think I'll be giving them my business anymore. read more

I get all my tires balanced and rotated 4X a year. I came in with a new used car I had just bought and the mechanic within 2 minutes found five things wrong with it. I went to this place about two summers ago to get the brakes on my 97 Honda Civic looked at because i was hearing a grinding sound. The front desk guy was pretty reasonable, and i don't like to cut corners on car repairs so when they came back saying most of my pads needed to be replaced with some other stuff and that they only use top shelf ceramic parts i wasn't to hard to sell. I'm not really a mechanic and my auto knowledge was limited, and when i left the place i assumed the soft feel of the brakes was just because they were new and would tighten up as i used them. Wrong The next day I was heading home from the work on 70east in heavy 5pm traffic my brakes completely went out as my brake light came on. Luckily my parking brake saved the day and i didn't rear-end the guy infront of me. I managed to get the car back to the shop and told them what happened, and tried to be pretty calm about it. The front desk guy was the same and he bumped my car to next in line to get looked at, and when it got up on the lift i saw the entire shop and the front office guy all looking at the underside. The front office guy finally came back up and asked if "I was going through a divorce". I said no already seeing some nonsense was brewing. He went back in and the whole store conversed for another five minutes before he came back and said that the problem was all the pressure had been released from the brake line, and air displaced the fluid. They then went on to say that none of the work they performed would have required them to touch the pressure levels in the lines, and that for this to happen someone would have had to manually bleed my line and hold some valve open to fill it with air. I said the brakes were lax right from the beginning as i left the shop the first time and they assured me again the mechanic didn't touch my lines. I then said "So you are saying that on the same day your mechanic did a brake overhaul on my car and absolutely, no way in hell did not do this, someone came into my back yard and crawled around my tires to put air in my brake line and brainwashed me into thinking the brakes were loose off the bat?" Then they looked at me for a few seconds and didn't say anything and i told them to get another mechanic to fix this now so we didn't have to deal with lawyers and corporate which they obviously were more then happy to comply with. I suppose i should have pushed the issue further, but i left it a lesson learned. read more

They fixed a different compressor (Monro compressor: I didn't find any information about this compressor who manufactured and price from any source) which they actually quoted (Denso compressor) without my knowledge. While I was in to get a tire patched, I asked for them to identify where a squeaking noise was coming. I was told I needed my brakes replaced and quoted $520. I denied that service and sent the part list to another vendor. That vendor quoted me $170 for the *exact same list of parts*. I was quoted $69.99 labor to replace a windshield wiper transmission, then when my girlfriend took it to this shop to repair it the guy called me and said he gave the wrong quote and wanted $300 to do it. I had already called around to other shops and they wanted less than $150 to do it. When I told him that, he said oh I can work with you and do it for $150. Are you kidding ? Do it for the price you quoted in the first place! When my girlfriend asked about replacing a headlight in her Prius the guy at the counter cut her off mid sentence, handed her a receipt then picked up the phone. Very rude customer service ! Poor customer service. I went in for a simple headlight replacement with bulbs that I had purchased. The manager very rudely told me they had a policy against installing customer bought parts (even though on a previous visit, this location had no problem with that), because he "can't make money off that" and that it's like "taking meat to a McDonald's and asking them to cook it for you." I was willing to pay for labor, but he wanted to charge me for both parts and labor, for around $50. I ended up leaving and going to another shop despite being nervous about driving in the snow with one working headlight. The unfortunate thing is that if I had given this place a review a couple months ago it would have been a positive one. The mechanic working at that time was friendly and helpful, did not overcharge or have a problem with installing a part that I had bought. Sorry Dave J for such bad experience, but for me it is a lot better. I truly enjoy going there. When I first moved in, I was worried that I will have to spend some time to find a decent car shop with professionals (i am not a very good mechanic myself :) ) who will treat to my car as their own. After second attempt, I ended up in this shop to change my car oil. No additional hidden charges, trying to sell a part or service. They always advise me what I should do (if anything should be done at all) even if it is something that out of their shop capabilities. Always with my request, they advise me where to go and inform about what the approximate fees can be like. Never had any issue ever since I started with these guys (both Howard and Scott) and always take my car to their shop to change oil and ask them to take a quick "overall look" to see if any problems may be coming soon. read more

I read an outstanding yelp review that convinced me to go here to get my brakes checked out. They started to have a sudden and very severe problem, that was unknown at the time if it was certain parts or all. While I will say in fairness to that review, the manager seemed very fair and reasonable as he avoided jumping to conclusions and speculating as to what caused the grinding noise, he could not do the inspection due to how late I arrived at the shop. I was told to come back the next day and get the free inspection. Since my work schedule prevented it and the brakes were still working, I came back 2 days later and dealt with the assistant manager. Unfortunately, there were no reviews for him. What was said to take an hour to assess, took 30 minutes. In that thirty minutes, the problem area was found to have a bad caliper and completely worn pads due to the issue with the caliper. Even though it was one caliper, they can only replace in pairs. So it was going to be $600 for Rotors, Calipers, pads and labor. I don't have that kind of cash lying around so I would need to come back. Everything seemed on the up-and-up. Customers are not allowed in the garage area so I can only take what he is telling me as his professional assessment. In the interim of waiting for pay day to go back and have the brakes done, I get a second opinion because everyone says that seems excessive for brakes that were fine a week prior. So another fully qualified mechanic takes a look and finds issues. Most of what I was told by this shop was not true at all. The caliper was fine. The only issue was the brake pad on one side had a problem and wore down really fast and broke apart causing the grinding on the rotor. The rotor was not damaged. However, the damage done to the wheel was, when The shop put my wheels back on, they over-tightened the nuts on the wheel with the impact wrench. It took almost 8 hours to get the first nut removed. There was over 175lbs on the thing which, when it was finally pulled off meant other parts were required to be replaced as the torque had destroyed the nuts and lug bolts. Those were not easy to replace. Final price to fix what was really wrong: $200 for parts. All new pads in the rear- no calipers needed at all. The rotors were also fine. It would seem the wheels were put on like that to insure that they be the ones to do the work- although, I was told, there was no way they could've removed those lug nuts any quicker as tight as they were put back on. I go to monro in Newark Ohio. I buy tires and have all service done there.Their service has declined. I called to drop my car off on dec. 23 2018. They said they would be open. Arrived at 3:50pm. The stored was closed. I needed brakes replaced, store lost $400 sale. I went to get oil changed, person at desk had no clue what he was doing. Guy in shop couldn't even lower lift, had to be new. They changed my oil but did not do the normal inspection, pump and dump. I am a retired service manager of national service center. This is not good business. I am considering to find a new center. The manager has great customer service skills, but that's as far as it goes. Shop needs a lot of help to improve. Scott, the owner, is one of the most honest, straight up dudes I've ever done business with. I've been in there several times, but just today I took my car in and told him exactly what I thought was wrong and that I expected to pay about $250. I left him my car on Friday morning and told him I didn't need it back until Monday and to take his time. He called me three hours later, told me it wasn't the problem I thought, and said it would only be twenty five bucks. He knew full well I was planning on paying him over $200 and didn't take advantage of that at all. Their work is always well done and I would trust Scott with my child. This was a poor experience overall. 1. My appointment was at 10:30 am (oil change and tire rotation) and work did not start until around 11:30 am. An appointment by its nature should be kept. I am reasonable and would accept a delay due to issues with other vehicles, but an hour delay for work to even begin is unacceptable. A simple phone call 20 min before he appointment asking if I would come in a little later would have been perfectly fine as well but that didn't happen either. This also caused my truck to cool down so not all the old oil would drain out, causing additional wear on my vehicle. 2. The gentleman who pulled my truck in cannot drive standard. As such he squealed the tires, sat on the clutch when putting it on the ramp and reved the engine, probably taking a couple of thousand miles off of it in the process. If you cannot drive standard, have another worker pull the truck in (or frankly don't work on vehicles in general). This is extremely irritating, I've never met a mechanic that can't drive a 4 cylinder pick up with a 5 speed in it. The one thing I'll give the manager is he apologized, then gave me a 30% discount. He said he was going to give me half off, but then didn't take into account my coupon first. Then, he didn't want to take the time and effort to refund my credit card and actually give me the discount he said he would. 3. My hub caps (which are admittedly a pain) were not put back on to the point where I would have lost all of them. The worst thing about this is I specifically asked the manager to double check this and he didn't. Other than draining oil out of a cold truck, the oil was changed correctly and the tires were rotated correctly. That is why I am giving two stars instead of one star. That being said, I will never go back to this location and will be filing a complaint with the corporate office. read more

Took my Ram 1500 to store #0856 in Columbus Ohio. I had a grinding noise coming from the rear driver's side wheel. I am manager across the street from this location, so it would be convenient. Dropped off the truck At 8 AM in the morning and was called about 30 minutes later. Brad told me that the brakes were about to fall off, the tie rods were about to fall off and the truck was a death trap. HE also said I needed ball joints and all new bearings and it would cost $3100.. After regaining my composure from being in shock from a truck that I maintain extremely well I told him to do the tie rods and the brakes, I didn't want to die or kill anybody. Picked the truck up 5 hours later, the noise and grinding that I had taken the truck in for was still there, the steering was now aligned at 1 o'clock, and grease was all over the doors, carpet and steering wheel. I called back and they said to bring it back in the morning, which I did. They called me at work and said everything was fine. That it wasn't the brakes making the grinding noise it was something in the universal joints or whatever, they weren't sure. After $2000 worth of work I had the same problem as when I brought it in. I took it to Performance Chrysler where I purchased this truck and where they maintain it and they did an inspection. Turns out it was a differential in the rear which cost about $2700 to fix. The remaining $1300 on the estimate from Tirechoice for ball joints and bearing, they said was not needed. I contacted Monroe, sent them the inspection from Performance Chrysler to no avail. This company is only out to commit fraud on the public and I would suggest to stay far away! read more

The manager, Scott recognizes me by face and has been able to drop costs when I believed they could be lower. They are my go to for an oil change and for that random sound you hear coming from under your car! Some of the oil change coupons are deals, reaching as low as $9.99! I've even been able to invitingly swing by when I had a question or small concern. This is the worst monro in town. They gave me a faulty thermostat, which almost ruined my car, but they did replace it for free. I wanted some other work to get done when I brought it there, and they didnt do that. I then made an appointment a week in advanced to get the work they didn't do done, and when I brought it there they didn't have the parts need. They added service to my bill that I didn't ask for. Went in for a scheduled oil change which they rescheduled once I arrived for the next day at the same time. Annoying but no biggie. I have now been waiting for well over an hour of the 45min-1hr estimated wait. They are very big on up-selling and less experienced customers could easily be taken advantage of. I simply declined replacing my cabin/engine air filters and was mocked by employees in the shop (yes we can hear you in there). Got both filters for $20 btw from Autozone. Absolutely do not go here! I took my car here for new brake pads and the manager told me it would be around $130 so I waited for an hour for them to look at it. After the hour (and the manager making prank phone calls to other Monroe stores during that time), he took me to look at the car and was condescending when I didn't know what I was looking at. He brought up more and more charges and wouldn't come to a final estimate, finally I asked him how much all together and somehow that original $130 turned into $700. The manager was rude to everyone that walked into the door and treated me like I was an idiot for not knowing the mechanics of cars.
