Friendly service. They replaced all 4 tires for the second time in 6mo due to "premature wearing or bad tires"and said the car needed alignment, so we paid extra for that. Drove the car for about a week with some vibration at certain speeds...same thing we experienced before the new tires. Took it back and they said 2 of the tires were out of balance and they rechecked the alignment. They said it needed alignment done again but did for free. Neither of those things fixed the issue. We took it to the dealership for a recall and had them check out the tires. They said the alignment was so far off that they recalibrated their machine to make sure there machine wasn't wrong. They said it was so far off that the tires will wear prematurely. ‍ So either TC alignment machine was way off, or the guy who did both sets of tires and alignments didn't know how to do an alignment. Even more concerning....i always check the torque after a tire change. Drove the car home after the new tires...went to check the torque and found both rear tires' lug nuts were only finger tight! And one lug nut was missing! Needless to say that I will never go here again. read more

I have contentedly spent over a thousand dollars over 15 years for tires and service at this place's forerunner, Monro Muffler. My appointment today was completely unsatisfactory. I waited over two hours because, despite me making an appointment, they did not have the correct filter. They did not have the correct tools for rotating the tires. There were a number of additional charges to the bill, including a $12 one the manager said he could remove "next time." No offer to remove it this time. Shockingly, this place was significantly more expensive than the dealer! Stay away. It's sad to see a formerly decent repair shop hit the skids. read more

So this is my vehicles 3rd time in (counting original visit) since we have purchased new tires here last month. My old tires needed replaced, so my husband did some research and found the best rated tires for our vehicle that Monroe carried, with his work schedule he was able to schedule with them to spend a pretty penny. The first time I returned, I requested an oil change along with inspection. Jim was working the same employee who my husband had paid and who replaced our tires. My complaint was the "Service Tire Monitor System" light had kept coming on since the new tires were replaced by him. I let him know it would come on about 20 minutes into driving. Jim said he would check it out. When he returned he said the service light was no longer on and he checked everything out and saw nothing wrong. Jim suggest I sit there for 45 minutes so the car could sit and maybe the light would come on (I mentioned earlier the light usually comes on after about 20 minute of driving right!) sure buddy. I mentioned to him then that I also felt a vibration when I would brake - right then and there Jim told me it was my breaks so I needed new breaks. But I told him this vibration didn't start until we had the new tires. There was a little spout of frustration from Jim. He proceeded to ask me about oil change. I let him know I had a free oil change since we had spent over $1000 on new tires but since I didn't have paper stating that he couldn't give me the oil change free. So he quoted me $62 for oil change and another $10 to rotate tires. I laughed, I can get an oil change and tire rotation and 4 point inspection check at my dealership for $49. So I left, called dealership and they were able to get me in the next day. Mind you I was leaving for a road trip in 2 days, so imperative my car is in good travel mode. When I arrived at dealership before they even pulled my car into their Bay Area, alarms went off that my alignment was off (ummm my husband paid extra for alignment at Monroe with new tires) so I ran down the list of issues I had since Monroe had touched our car. The dealership did a thorough job combing through my car. Not sure how Jim/James missed it but apparently he had broken the front right tire monitor system when replacing tire (did not inform my husband)left it hanging on my vehicle (so that's the sound I heard of something dangling when driving) as well as the new generic sensor he replaced it with was not made to connect with my type of car sensors, on top of he never even attached the new sensor so it was rolling around in my tire. (ding ding ding why my "Service Tire Monitor System" light kept coming on) Alignment was completely off, tires were never balanced. My brakes were fine. Yeah! Far! From! Nothing! Wrong! Jim! I called Monroe asked to speak to manager. He was very patient and understanding of my frustration. I explained everything to him. He asked that I give him a chance to check it out and fix anything he could. He also said he would reimburse us for the alignment that was never done and pay for correct sensor. He also told me he had been in contact with the GM. Mind you I was leaving for road trip next day at this point. The dealership let me know I was fine to drive but to take care of it as soon as I returned. When I returned from my trip, they were able to get me into Monroe right away. However I was there for about hour or so. My guess, they were fixing all of Jim's mistakes. By the looks of the GM and the stern talk he gave Jim he was not happy with the service we had received. The manager did apologize for the inconvenience once my car was done. The GM never approached me. When I left I was still not trusting of their work, still a little vibration in the wheel. But I had scheduled an oil change at my usual dealership since I was due anyways after my trip. Since the dealership knew of my troubles they went ahead and rechecked everything for me. Tires were rotated, sensors were working together, alignment still off so they straightened it out. After this experience I will never return to Monroe ever again. If Jim has ever worked on your vehicle - I suggest getting a second opinion for every recommendation he gives or just save your time and money and go elsewhere. Just beware read more

While getting tires he offered to check the engine light code for me for free. Firestone down the street simply said there would be a $100 diagnostic fee. Jim, the manager said that if we needed a full diagnostic check that would be about 60 bucks. Take note big chains, This is how you do business. read more

This place is a JOKE. They lied to my husband about the price of an air filter then handed him a bill twice the price it should have been. When he tried to get it rectified the manager refused to refund the money or take out the air filter. We wouldn't gave got it if they had told us the real price. I had a in tire and needed repair, called and Jim said he could take me in right away. They had me in and out of there in 40 minutes in between an existing car on the rack and taking in other walk in customers The gentleman showed me the culprit ( one inch staple) holes were close together so one patch and I was out of there. This place is a joke they wanted $800 to do breaks and routers on my wife 2005 Subaru and they tried to tell me that I had leak in my overhead for my radiator when it has never over heated prayer to going there come to find out they loss end my hose clamps once I put them back on right I didn't over hear any more and as I said before I never had a over heating problem till I took it there. read more

Avoid!! Dishonest and worthless!!! My 18yo son had replaced the tie rod ends on the front end of his car and needed a front end alignment. When he brought the car in, they told him they wouldn't do the alignment unless they replaced the tie rod ends?!! R u kidding me? Couldn't they see that they were just replaced 10 days previously??!! I was told by phone and before I had the oil change on my car that a free tire rotation was included.I also asked after the service was completed if the tire rotation was done-I was told yes.It was not stated on my receipt that it was done so i asked and was told yes it was done.I took it somewhere else to have it checked and the tire rotation was not done.I had it done somewhere else and had to pay for the service. read more
