They are honest and upfront about the cost and how long it's going to take for the repairs. When my vehicle left Tire Choice after three days it had several issues locks, key fob, trunk, warning lights that it didn't have before I took it there. Will have to get resolved elsewhere. Also, the communication between the station and I on progress towards fixing electrical issues (I took it there for a mechanical routine maintenance I thought) that sprung up while in their care, on my only vehicle, were non-existent. I made an appt for Monday and got a call saying they could not honor the appt due to staffing. I made another appt for noon on Wed and got a call asking if i could change it to 2. I sad yes and arrived at 1:45. I let them know when i made the appointment that i was waiting. It took them 2 1/2 hours to change the oil and rotate the tires. I will never go back again. read more

My daughter went here to get an oil change and tire rotation. They stated that she needed a new battery (over $400) rear brakes fixed, oil leaks, fixed, and cabin air filter replaced. When my daughter called her fiancé who showed up with a friend, the friend mentioned that these prices were too high. This caused the person at the desk to threaten to call the police on the friend due to soliciting. The friend did not mention any other business to take to or that he would do it himself so this was an incorrect statement and extremely threatening to the individual involved. Go here if you want terrible service, threats for police, action, and high prices. There are tons (virtually anywhere else in Springboro) that you can go and get better service, pricing, and an experience. Even though I live in walking distance of this location, I would rather wait and waste time for hours while a professional team will work on my car. Note: when I called to complain to the manager, the number sent me to a call center in India, so I was unable to discuss this with anyone. They are called Tire Choice now. They say they are the same company but they are definitely not. It's not the same place we used to know and trust. The new staff is very impersonal and looking for the up-sell at every turn. I used to trust Monroe brothers for years because they always have you options and never sell you something you didn't need. Two customers just left saying out loud, "we know never to come here again." It has to do with their $260 battery they bought there being out-of-warranty. Right or wrong, the store manager didn't handle it well. I watched two other transactions that went just as poorly. Let's find where they sent the old manager/front desk worker Bill. They don't give a customer a choice of what to do on their own vehicle. If you don't want something factory spec they won't do it. It was a ture valve. Just wanted a standard rubber valve. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

My car had a flat and I rolled into the driveway around closing time. They were very professional and accommodating and had the proper tires for my car in stock. They balanced and rotated the tires and offered me a reasonable price. They left my car in clean and I was back on the road in no time. read more

I can honestly say I have never had worse car service. For my last oil change I took my car to this location and upon checking out the serviceman said nothing to me. Two days after leaving this horrible burnt smell came was wafting into my cabin and smoke was coming from the hood. I took it back and the serviceman looked at it. It was only then they informed me that when I had gone last time they spilt oil all over my motor. He didn't apologize but he did say the smell would be gone in a week Fast forward 2 months and it's time for my new oil change. My motor is still smoking and the smell is not gone. Amazingly I'm still giving these people my business. I explain the situation and the serviceman does not apologize AGAIN! He acts non-Chalant and says he'll get to my car today if he can. And he'll see what he can do about the smell. I am FED UP and posting this review and telling as many people as possible. This is unacceptable and I will never go to a Monroe again. read more

Well, I have no idea how good their work is here. I needed a front axle brake job, normally a repair I'd do myself, but with our garage in a state of disaster due to moving, I decided to pay someone to do it. I went in with a coupon for a $99 per axle brake job. I walked out five minutes later with an estimate for $240. Bait and switch at its finest. This is absolutely shameful. I bought the new pads for $37 and spent 30 minutes doing it myself in a friend's garage. And I'm no Mr. Goodwrench. Before you go here, ask yourself how they afford this shiny new building on prime real estate in the Settlers' Walk area. read more

I was out running errands with my husband who happens to be blind and we get a flat tire which is no big deal, life happens, but we didn't have a spare so we found the nearest tires shop to see if we could purchase a new tire. We found Tire Choice 1.7 miles away from where we were stranded. We called the shop to see if they had our size available and in stock and they did. We were told to just come in and they would replace it for $125. So we called our insurance company to be towed to that location. When we arrived they asked us if we had an appointment, we said no and informed them that we were the ones that just called. So Jason was kind enough to squeeze us in as he stated. So we had a bit of a wait, but not too terrible, it was to be expected. Then Mr. Jason Davis pulled the van in had it looked at and came back with an offer to upsell us for a full set of tires which was not doable at the time and after waiting for another hour or so only for him to come back to tell us that they couldn't get the tire off. I immediately knew this was a lie! But he insisted that he couldn't get it off and would have to drill into one of the lugs to remove the tire and that would bring our total just under $300 with labor costs which he previously hadn't mentioned. At that point we instantly decided to not give them our business and had to call a second tow truck. Jason Davis saw this as an opportunity to exploit our situation and try to upsell us any way that he could. He wasn't friendly and spoke in a monotone drab tone with us and the other customers that came in or were on the phone with him. It's a shame that in times like this when the citizens of this nation have to face inflation and other financial hardships only to be met with opportunist devils trying to extort money out of customers who would potentially purchase a full set of tires provided getting good service. I'm only giving this rating 1 star because there's no option to give 0 stars. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They are definitely off our list. We got the van home and my husband removed the tire with the Jack system that was provided with the vehicle, we ubered it to a nearby tire shop, had it replaced for a mere $50, ubered it back home, my husband replaced the tire and we were on the road again. And can I say again, my husband is legally blind and was able to get the tire off!!! read more

Took my car to Schmidt's for a second opinion and they fixed it correctly and for a few dollars. What a scam. This place is criminal. read more

I usually do not take time to write reviews on local business' but this is one time I have to share my experience with this company. I was in Springboro for the week house sitting for a friend and needed an oil change. After reading past reviews with Monroe on Remick, which was just up the road from where I was staying, I went ahead and made an appointment before I had to travel back home. I am so glad I did! Not sure if it is the change in management since the past reviews were written or what, but this place, including the service and the exceptional customer service I received, did one of the best jobs I have ever encountered. I am very picky and leery about car places cause too many try to soak you for any extras they can. Not here! I was greeted at the front desk by the manager Bill and from there I was completely taken care of with service I had never seen any place else provide. Not only did I receive the oil change on my Camry but after telling the manager a couple issues I was worried about he went out and personally checked my concerns out. He pulled the wheels off and found what the problem was and called me out to see the problem first hand. I let him know before hand that I had a personal mechanic and he still did all that for me knowing I was not going to have them fix anything. Now that is someone who simply cares about his customers! He assured me I would be OK to make it back home. Since the exemplary care I received I may have them do the work next time I am in Springboro and not bother my mechanic who is working a lot of hours right now. Thank you Monroe for your caring attitude. I am looking forward to having a back-up mechanically for my car. Oh and by the way I left without any extra charges but the oil change. read more

I had taken my car into Monro on December 2nd needing new brakes, tire rotation & an oil change. Upon changing my oil, the plug on my oil pan was stripped. They had estimated the cost be near $1500. The mechanic working on my vehicle was able to later salvage the part...however, they DECIDED that since I would need a new battery within the next couple of months to go ahead and change that my bill was $598.74 and I paid that on 12/2. Mind you, I never received any updates; I was always the one who had to reach out to see if/when my car would be ready for pick up. The manager responded that they would need to keep my car for the next couple of days. Sunday, December 4th rolls around and still no update from anyone. I finally was able to reach someone who could give me an update, it wasn't good news. When they went to change the battery my security in my car "locked up" and wouldn't even turn on or do anything. Therefore, on a Sunday early afternoon, I was advised to go rent a car. Well, on a Sunday there aren't many rental places open. I found a place; they luckily had 1 car they were able to rent out. Throughout that entire week, I was lead to believe that my car would be ready...each day I was told, give us one more day. One more day....this was unacceptable. The rental place on Thursday finally called me and said they needed to have the rental car back by 5pm that day. I still did not have my car. I was then advised by the manager of Monro to return that car and go to a different rental place where they had an account, which means the first rental car was on my dime, but I was TOLD that I would be reimbursed for this. That bill was $300.86. Once I got my new rental car on 12/8, I had received another call from Monro on 12/13 from a new manager of the store stating that the manager I had been communicating with no longer works for the company. He had asked what was going on with my car, and how long they had it for. Seems like there is ZERO communication within that branch, and we're working on 2 weeks of my car being in their possession. FINALLY by 12/15 I was told that my car was ready for pick up, at that time I was told to bring my receipt for my total that I paid and for the first rental car in. I was told I would be getting money back, and that is why I needed to present that information when picking up my car. However, when I went to pick up my car, the guy who behind the counter seemed shocked when I handed him this stuff and said he didn't need anything. I told him I needed to AT LEAST be refunded the amount I paid for the rental car, when I should have NEVER had to do that. Well here we are again, 2 weeks after having my car back and I have received ZERO communication from not only the Springboro branch or management, but the customer service of the company. I have contacted them TWICE, I have been very patient and I was extremely patient with everyone involved since the start of all this on 12/2. I never once complained, I never had an attitude, I never raised my voice with anyone, but this is the most unacceptable service I have ever had. read more

So let me tell you not only am I disappointed at Monro but at the kind of people they hire and call their managers. This Memorial day weekend father came from Cleveland to visit family. He had his water pump go bad. We tried to look for places open but couldn't find anyone. We did come across this one which said they could do it in 5 hours and would be around 600$. Well 5 hours turned into 5 days and a total of like 2500$. Now let me be the first to say accidents happen and that is completely understandable but what this company tried to do was downright robbery. Chris the manager called me on first day saying he needed to wait till the next day to get gaskets so i understood. Then at the end of the second day said I needed a new coolant reservoir. I was skeptical on this but I said OK anything to get the car right its my father and he needs to be back on Sunday night. Then come Sunday he was actually putting the car back together and had it completely back and was testing it and it was still leaking. He took it apart and cracked the water pump housing because he didn't torq it in the correct pattern or proper specs. So now we have to order a 750$ part from Cadillac which will take 24 hours to get. Finally the last day comes by and he gets the new parts in and my father has been waiting there all day asks what specs is he installing it with so it didnt break again. Chris gets completely disrespectful and tells him to leave that he is being a pain in his ass. All we want is our car. he gets done with the car and I ask him to show me the breakdown of the bill. He basically said we have to eat the cost of his mistakes. I then ask him to see all the broken parts. I understand if things are wrong but the housing was cracked by his mechanic and I wanted to see the reservoir where it was leaking since i only went in there with a water pump issue not all the issues he is saying. We check the reservoir and its not leaking at all. A 400$ part that he just wanted to tack on the bill to take advantage of someone who was already in a bad situation. He gets upset because we don't see it leaking and tells his mechanic to put it back on the car and take the new one off. We let him cause at this point we are past frustrated. Finally the bill comes to 1500$ which is still way up from his original quote of 600-700 but at this point we have no choice to pay for the work. This company and these guys specifically are crooks its sad because if this was my grandma that stopped in or my wife or mother and they were in this situation they would just put on a credit card over extend their account cause they don't know any better. Its just sad, Danny who use to work here was a Marine, had integrity took care of customers. Now they are just taking customers for a ride, specifically veterans on Memoral Day.
