OK, it's past time. I gave these guys a review. I was in town visiting for a week and I heard a clunking sound when I was hitting the break. It started getting worse and I still had to get down to California and back to Washington. So I called a few other places even went in and nobody had any availability for days. It was really crazy. I think I went to three places. I finally got this gentleman on the phone, he gave me a quote of what he thought it would be possibly wrong. Said come on in my mechanical take a look at it and take it for a drive and tell you. He did just that I literally pulled up 15 minutes later and was taken in and it turned out to be my hub on the tire. It was literally moving back-and-forth the entire tire when it was up in the air. They let me see and showed me the extent of danger I was in. I was very happy to see and know that that was exactly the problem and they got it fixed for me at a decent price. Within the hour. I was on the road and driving and did not have another problem with my car. When I got there, the manager/owner was on his way out, but we shook hands and he had his technician help me from there. I want to give the most honest review possible, so in good conscience, I have to ding them a star for saying over the phone they had the right tire size, but apologizing to me when I got there for not. The tire was a little wider than the one that fits my car, but I had to make it work because I have five hours of driving ahead of me that I can't do on the spare I was using. We lucked out after a Sunday night Highway roadside "brake-down" - I called the shop after hours and Max answered. He let us know he could look at it first thing in the morning and we were good to have it towed there. Lucky for us it wasn't too extensive (needed drum brake slave cylinder replaced) and we were able to get on the road by 11 and even get in a half day skiing before heading home to SF. Great work ethic and honest quality. Wife had a slight accident in the winter time. Came in for an alignment and found out driver side tie rod needed to be replaced so they suggested getting both and then the alignment. Found out during the alignment process that the calipers needed replacing too but we opted to out of that on this occasion. I purchased four new tires at Tire Maxx after Costco cancelled my tire order: 'out of stock.' The old front passenger side tire had uneven wear and was bald in places whereas the other three were showing normal wear. Because of this, when the new tires were installed, I also paid for an alingment - $80. At the end of that appointment, I was told that the passenger side control arm need to be replaced. I was given a ballpark price and told they would call when they had the part in. I waited two weeks before following up thinking supply chain issues may have caused a delay. When I got Max on the phone, he had trouble placing who I was and had no recollection of the result of the alingment test so obviously no control arm had been ordered. As I was replaying the conversation we had following the alingment for him, he suddenly announed that I needed "10 control arms!" I ended the call, figured I had to kiss my $80 goodbye and made an appointment a German auto repair shop. They did an alignment test - $150. They made a minor adjustment and concluded no new control arms/sway bars, etc. were needed. Caveat emptor! read more
