Their Road Hazard warranty is pretty much useless. Their 3rd-party claim center will exhaust you and drain your last effort to claim. I sent them two rounds of pictures and had the repair shop call them twice. Still no reimbursement. I also ordered a tire from Tire Rack to replace my damaged tire. They promised to deliver on June 1st. As of June 7th, the tire was still in-transit. I canceled the order. I would stay away from Tire Rack. I was a former customer of "The Tire Rack" but due to their customer service and support and the high prices they charge for shipping ($11.07 for two wiper blade refills), I can no longer support this company. I used them for tires, wipers, and wheels previously. But this last time I ordered wiper refills by"PIAA" I was sent the wrong sizes for my car. Now, in order to get the property sized wiper refills I must 1). Pay to ship back the wrong blades. 2). Wait for my refund to be verified by "pay-pal" 3). Mostly for performance (autocross) and winter applications. they have THE BEST customer service and delivery speed i have ever seen for shipping large items i have ever dealt with. With cheap ground delivery i get my tires in a day usually, and when i buy sizes that are larger than normal, a CS rep calls me to make sure i didn't make a mistake within an hour of order placement. I have had one of the worst purchasing experiences with Tire Rack in my life. I purchased 4 tires sometime over the summer and everything was good. So when I ran over a speed bump and my right tire got a scratch I needed to replace it and ordered it through Tire rack. I made the order Dec 5th & was supposed to be delivered the next day. Ontrac (another horrible company) said they delivered it the next day at 9:51am "in Front Door" and my gf was home. So she checked everywhere at 10am & nowhere to be found. Ontrac has been known to leave packages at the front of the condo complex so we checked there too & nothing. Called Ontrac first who made me transfer to Tire Rack and Tire Rack said they would open an investigation that can take up to 8 days. Problem #1, You as a company should reship me what i rightfully paid for and deal with the vendor directly. So Tire Rack basically tells me I have to wait. I had to contact them throughout the week for updates & finally got an email saying the Ontrac delivery guy would go on Dec 9th (4 days later now) to make sure the tire is not where he left it at (because apparently I am blind). Well Dec 9th comes around & nobody showed up at my place. Dec 12th now I call to ask for status & they said "we still don't have an update from Ontrac". I basically asked every person I spoke to why I couldn't get a new tire or my money back and the response was always as long as the investigation is open we can't reship the tire, and if I want my money back "i have to show them a receipt of where i purchased something else locally". There was basically two scenarios, they found the tire and will be reshipped to me or it will be lost or stolen and I will be due a new tire and shipped to me. So I said, ok if the tire is found i want a refund or assuming it is labeled lost/stolen I would just like my money back because I am very unhappy with Tire Rack, and they literally said I can't do that because once it leaves their warehouse they are not responsible for it. If i do want my money back I must show a receipt of where i bought another tire somewhere else. WHY??? First, I have not bought it anywhere else, I'm still waiting for you to give me my tire or my money back so I can purchase it somewhere else!!! So if after your super long investigation process you decide you owe me a reshipment of another tire I can NOT choose to get my money back instead, the answer was no i must show a receipt of where i bought it locally to get reimbursed. Why? NO IDEA, because apparently to get your money back for a tire you purchased on Tire Rack and have still not received you must have had purchased a tire somewhere else and show proof it. So I asked ok so what do i need to do, get the tire, and call back to reship and get my money back? and their answer was why? I said because I do not want to give this company a penny of my money and so they said yes, once you have the tire you can have it refunded but you will need to pay for shipping (inhale...exhale) So once they decide I am owed what I rightfully paid for I cannot ask for my money back then, I must still wait to get the tire and the ship back at my expense (After 2 weeks of inconvenience). Here is the kicker, I must give them a NEW address to ship it to, because one of THEIR carriers lost MY package I am now inconvenienced into having to provide another address for THEIR mistake. I order things on prime literally weekly and with USPS, FedEx, UPS etc. have never had an issue with delivery. So finally Dec 15th now I am 100% over it I say here is my work address, just send me the replacement tire and I'll keep it I just need a tire for my car. Don't hear a response after they asked me for new shipping address. Call back Dec 19th asking for status and team lead I was dealing with now says oh sorry didn't send it out we will send it out today and supposed to arrive next day (Dec 20). I get an email saying order is being processed and will get another email once it leaves the warehouse. First I had to call back right away because they input the address wrong that I correctly provided for them and second I never got the secondary email saying it was shipped but I decided to wait it off. Tire never arrived yesterday so I tired to check status online through the track feature and it doesn't even recognize order number which tells me they probably haven't even shipped it and explains why I never got the other email. Called customer service back and the lady said "oh it says here they were supposed to deliver it yesterday not sure what happened. as to why i couldn't track it online they couldn't give me a straight answer. All i got was I will need to contact them and I will call you back. After 2 1/2 weeks finally called my credit card to dispute the purchase with this horrible company. I've basically given up my local tire store because the TireRack has been so good to me so far. I have had one Blizzak tire that had slight damage on the sidewall when it was delivered. It was very slight but on the sidewall so my installer recommended not using it. I contacted the TireRack's customer service department and within 3 days I had another tire delivered to my door absolutely free of charge. No hoops to jump through, no pain, just GREAT SERVICE. They have an excellent selection and a helpful, easy to use website. I live in Ohio and have always gotten my tires within two days of ordering without paying exorbitant prices for shipping. If you're hesitant about ordering tires online- don't be, at least if you order from Tirerack.com. I highly recommend them. read more

Do not use tire rack!! They recommended to order the wrong tires. When I called to return the tires the person I spoke to in customer service was rude and told me it was my fault and they are not responsible. He was rude while handling my claim and tried to ridicule me for not ordering the correct tires. Honestly, I did order the wrong tires. Although, I had no idea how to order tires or what to look at. I had ordered tires from tirerack previously with no hitches. They gave me the go around and tried to load me up with many additional fees in order to return them. Customer service was rude and when I was finally able to speak to the customer service manager and she tried to add even more fees. Then she proceeded to tell me that the nylon they wrap the tires with are damaging to the tires. Sounds like something that would be good to tell your customers. She said they were not even going to take my tires back if the nylon did damage. Seriously? They packaged them in a way that will damage the tires and then won't take them back because of their packaging. That is ridiculous. Not only have I wasted time on a pathetic customer service department, I am out about $100 on the tires and have no tires to put on my car. Tirerack has LOST my order of $400 and my future business. I hope this deters you from wasting your time and money on this company. If you are going to order tires online there are many other places that will have a better discount on tires and have better customer service and return policies. I've been ordering tires from them for about 20 years, and I've never had any major problems. Of course I don't hit curbs and run over lots of nails either. Their prices are great even after the shipping, it's still cheaper than what you can get the same exact tires for locally. Good prices, sure, and as long as there are no problems with the tires, they are great. But good luck if you have to make a tire return or exchange. Rude customer service (Katrina and Leslie are both horrible, others there weren't much better), plus they won't pick up the return from the installer so you get to lug the tires to Fed Ex or pile them on your porch for UPS to pick up at some point. Will NEVER buy or recommend TireRack again. I had to return 2 tires that were never mounted. They would only accept one, claimed the other had grease on it. There was no grease on tire when I sent it back and worse case if there was, the make grease removers for a reason so saying it can't be removed is total BS. The customer service at Tire Rack is the poorest excuse for customer service I have ever run across. They always seem to have an excuse why things aren't progressing well. It wasn't until we contacted American Express about our refund did they seem to respond in a timely manner. I was told by Lynn at Tire Rack the return shipping fee would be $62.88. When in fact Tire Rack charged us double of what she said. So our refund was short due to their adding and subtracting ability. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Warning, DO NOT ORDER from TIRE RACK. They don't list the right tire & rims sizes for vehicles. When I called them to complain that they have the wrong sizes listed on their web page. The updated their web page and emailed me back that I made the mistake. I informed them that I had a screen shot of their web page, they then said they would take the tires back but I would have to pay for return shipping back to them. The rim would not be accepted if scratched and there would be an additional charge for dismount. After all was said and done they would only credit back about $317 after they charged me $772 for tires and rims. Not to mention, I had them professionally mounted and balanced an additional cost. Aside being expensive, their service is insulting! They treat you like your incompetent when they are the ones making the mistake. If you are looking for tires, DISCOUNT TIRE is much cheaper. I wish I had found them before Tire Rack. Tire Rack stuck me for over $700 worth of tires I cannot use. Their response was try selling them on Ebay. I completed two Tire Rack transactions 1) tires for my Mercedes e-class sedan a few months back 2) just recently a winter tire package (tires and wheels) for our Honda Pilot. In short, I am very satisfied with Tire Rack and will encourage my friends and family to give them a try. In long, I used to buy from either Costco or Les Schwab. I now prefer Tire Rack because I perceive the following: I can make a more informed decision due to hundreds of on-line user reviews, I get prices as good or better than Costco, customer service as good as Les Schwab, and finally selection as good or better than both Costco and Les Schwab. [This is not to disparage either Costco or Les Schwab - both are excellent places to do business - but its getting very competitive out there!] On my most recent purchase, I did run into a minor glitch. Very disappointed with the overall purchasing and installation process. Purchased 4 tires on line and figured I I'll save the $45 shipping and pick them up since I am in the area and take them to one of their "authorized installers". Placed the order and 30 minutes later get a call explaining how to pick them up and an offer to install them when I get there. Sounded good and was wondering why the install service wasn't offered on the web??!! Anyway off to get the tires/installed and walk in to an empty counter with 3 people sitting and no one looking up to make eye contact. Finally one guy does to tell me someone else would help me soon. This is where I buy all my snow tires. They get sent to me, premounted on steel wheels, and now my rear wheel drive 2-seat convertible does an amazing imitation of a jeep. For those who are into snow tires, I didn't like the way Blizzak WS50 tires handle on dry pavement but they're good on snow. The Dunlop M3 snow tires are just as good as the Blizzaks in snow, and they're just as good as my summer tires on dry roads. I'll use Tire Rack again & probably get four more M3s if the car lasts that long. read more

Purchased four new Michelin run flat tires with the two year road hazard warranty. I had the tires installed at one of Tire Rack's highest rated installers in my area. One of the tires does not hold air pressure for more than 24 hours. I emailed the Tire Rack sales representative, and he recommended to returned the tire to Wheel Works where the tire was installed for inspection. Wheel Works stated that the tire was leaking at the beed, and they considered the tire to be defective. Wheel Works stated that they have seen this problem before with this same Michelin tire, and it was a problem that they could not correct. I spoke with the representative that handles the road hazard claims (Sansio); that stated that leaks at the beed are not covered by there road hazard protection, and its the install fault that the beed was damaged. Sansio would sell me a another tire, but would not replace my existing tire under the road hazard warranty. read more
