I've been a loyal customer of this location for years because of the great service I get here! Nicole, the general manager, is the best! If you are female, you know that many car repair shops just want to upsell services and parts because they think you don't know any better. That is NOT the case here! This year, I was in for inspection. I only needed a replacement tire to pass but Nicole also told me about the bubble in my other tire and that I will need brakes in the future (and would give me a quote). I ended up getting both tires replaced to be safe. Great service and not just looking for the upsell. She also applies any available coupons to my service sheet without me needing to ask. We have taken. our cars to Tires Plus Bryn Mawr for many years. I have a Lexus and my spouse has the Volvo. We have never been disappointed with the work, and the manager, Nicole is beyond great. I now from the long association that they are honest ad work with you to keep costs low if possible. I've read the reviews that pan the place, and it is a surprise. Perhaps the staff is better trained now, and if you have a problem or need to discuss something, talk to Nicole the manager. My car overheated on the expressway while heading home from work. It was towed to Tires Plus on 900 W. Lancaster Ave. in Bryn Mawr, PA. The next day I was told that I suffered a hole in my radiator from road debris and needed an entire new radiator/coolant system for $1,092. By the time I was able to retrieve my car the bill jumped to $1,400. 2 days later, while returning from work, my new radiator began to leak antifreeze at an alarming rate. I was able to get my car to my own mechanic (Mavis Discount Tire in Chester Springs) who unfortunately had to replace old clamps that had been left on, a hose that should have been replaced, and to beat all, tighten and properly secure several points that were left incredibly loose. Mavis was even nice enough to video what had been neglected. (this is why I have been going to these guys for over a decade) Mavis took it easy on me but understandably had to charge me around $164. I forwarded the Mavis invoice, and the videos to Tires Plus who reluctantly agreed to send me a check for $18.00 to cover my additional expenses and inconvenience. If you must, push your car past Bryn Mawr's Tires Plus and find anyone - anyone - to repair your car instead. Incompetent and unapologetic. read more

Purchased two tires at the Bryn Mawr Tires Plus at the end of last year after my brothe-in-law suggested them. Great service back then. Thought a tire looked low and came back yesterday. The manager had a technician check pressure which was good. So I'm back for an oil change today. This is my third time here and so far, I would recommend the service, the quality and the price. I brought my car in at its prearranged time today to have new tires installed, and they refused to work on it. The car is a 1957 Dodge, but the wheels are no different from any other modern car, and there is no difference in the tire installation process. I made my appointment four days ago, and reviewed with them exactly what I needed, and the person I spoke to then was actually looking forward to seeing the car when I brought it in. This Tires Plus location has serviced this car in the past, and in fact, they installed the current tires in 2017. But, today the service manager asserted that their technician did not feel qualified to do the work. It's very clear that Tires Plus is maximizing profit by refusing low-revenue work. Earlier this year they had me wait nine days for a flat repair -- a clear sign they weren't interested in that kind of business. Today my car would have netted them only about $120. And, the age of the car meant that there were zero opportunities for upselling other repairs, as they could for an unsuspecting owner/victim with a newer car. All they had to do was refuse the work up front when I called. They chose instead to inconvenience me. I will not be giving them any more business for any of my cars. Bottom line? Tires Plus says it is not qualified to work on tires. Take them at their word and go elsewhere. read more

Awful customer experience. Do not buy tires here! Eric (local manager?) refuses to honor warranty they sold us in January. After wasting a lot of time here as they shirked accountability, I went down the road to another tire shop and am back on the road in less than 15 minutes. From the looks of other downtrodden customers waiting around in lobby while staff chatted and texted behind the counter my experience here is unfortunately probably not unique. Update: Despite helpful tone from "management" in comments to this review below, we never received any response or attempt to rectify our experience when we emailed details as recommended below. I only needed state inspection. I called 5 service stations on a Sunday and this is one of the few that were open. All the other ones couldn't be bothered or wanted the car ALL day (in obvious anticipation of upselling services). Since I had to stay with my car, I asked if there was a best time to come by and I was given one! This is the first good thing that I experienced since it didn't mean waiting all day. Nicole, the manager, was incredibly polite and made sure that I was seen immediately. Second, I found out that the last place I went to for state inspection scammed me as my car is a diesel and didn't need emissions testing yet they did it anyway. I wouldn't have known better and this place could have done the same. When they found out my car was a diesel, the tech honestly came to the front to bring it to the manager's attention who then explained it to me. This saved me half of my bill and a significant amount of time. The finishing touch was when they replace all 4 missing valve stem caps. They didn't have to but it was certainly appreciated. The tech did note one single recommendation to have my tires replaced. I know that my tires are aging and the recommendation was legitimate. I appreciated though how this was brought up without being pressured or hard sold. Because of the convenience, I will be considering them strongly when I plan on replacing all of my tires in a month or so. read more

Where do I start??? My car blew the radiator and they told me my car needed a transmission- the only thing was they did not fully diagnose the car!!! I called around to a few buddies of mine explaining what happened to double check what they said and I felt was wrong with the car and we all came to the transmission did not need replacement!! So I had them replace the radiator and fill the transmission back up from the fluid that was lost when the radiator blew up. But it gets better!!! They did not check the transmission fluid level!! It was missing 2 & 1/2 quarts!! Found that out when I took it in for a oil change!! And to top it off there were grease marks all over my car!! Never taking my car there again!! read more

Take pictures of all of your wheels before going to this place, or better yet do not go to this place. Chipped two or three of my wheels changing the tires. Either lost or broke two lugs over torquing them on my car and told me they weren't there when i brought the car in? Over torqued the lugs to the point where I bent a 3/8" breaker bar like it was play-doh trying to remove them myself later. Most likely warped the rotors a bit by over tightening so much. Couldn't even get enough leverage with the 1/2" breaker bar that I bought and couldn't find a pipe to extend it at the time, but eventually got them loose with a longer 3/4" breaker bar. Oh yeah and they left my car in the lot against a parking block in neutral (manual trans) without the parking brake on. I forget if the bumper was scraping against the parking block or not but was bar none the absolute worst experience I have had with any auto shop ever. read more

Brought my car in for inspection a few weeks ago using a coupon I got on the back of my receipt at from Giant. The guy working the counter was nice and was able to squeeze me in that day. I got a call back the next day letting me know that I needed a $1200 worth of work on my car in order for my car to pass inspection. So when I got the news I told them that I need to think about it because that was a lot of money and I would call them back if I wanted them to do the work. After I said that I felt like the guy was trying to pressure me into getting the work done because the already had the car apart. After consulting with to my dad and a few other people I decided to pick have the work done elsewhere. I bought the parts at Advanced Auto Parts and saved myself $202 and had a mechanic put the parts on and saved myself $110 in Labor cost. I was also found out that all the stuff that was recommended while it was needed and wasn't required to pass inspection which saved me another $501 in cost and labor. I brought the car back a week later to be re-inspected and it passed inspection. The process and simple and painless. Moral of the story Tires Plus is okay for tires, oil changes and inspection but if you car doesn't pass inspection take it elsewhere to get the work done. read more

I cannot not say enough positive things about this Tires Plus, and particularly its manager, Nicole Perez. For the last two years of her time as a student at Villanova our daughter has had trustworthy advice and excellent customer service. Then, as she and I anticipated driving her car across the country, we realized on the day before we left that we needed four new tires. In dealing with Nicole on this, it seemed we were her only customer. Not only did she work us in on a Sunday, she alerted us to a rebate for the tires and then filled out the paperwork for us! What could have been a real challenge at an already stressful time turned out to be an amazingly positive experience. It's so encouraging to see this kind of dedicated attention to service. I've been going to Tires Plus since they have been at this location. (previously Avellino's Tires)The staff here is knowledgeable and know how to talk in laymen terms about car issues. I never have felt that they are trying to charge me for something that I don't need and they will frequently wave the diagnostic fee when situations warrant. They seem to value my repeat business and are upfront about their recommendations even when it includes giving business to someone else or not having work done at all. Women beware! Tires Plus in Bryn Mawr will rip you off! They look for things to be wrong with your car and take advantage of your ignorance. Recently I needed 2 of my tires fixed. I needed a plug in the back passenger due to a nail and I wanted my full size spare to be put on my front passenger. You would think it would have been no problem. Well 10 minutes after dropping it off I got a phone call at work . They told me they couldn't fix the tires and I had to buy new ones spending an extra $150. Their reasoning was this. 1.) the nail was on an angle and they can't put a plug in on an angle. 2.) My spare was from 1987 and it's illegal to put tires on the road older than 2 years. (my car is a '98) Good thing I have a smart Dad who knows a thing or two about cars. He said get the hell out of there and go someplace else. So I went up the street to Kings Auto and they did exactly what I wanted for $55 and didn't try to sell me any bull shit. Also, Tires Plus two years prior, told me I needed a new tie rod for inspection and when they gave me a price I double checked it with another auto place and it was half the price! The guy Dave said oh yeah sorry I, ah accidentally charged you for 2 tie rods. Stay away from this place unless you're getting a simple oil change. Go to Kings up the street. I have had my car serviced here many times before however never will again. they convinced me to have my transmission fluid changed when I was in for a different service. the trans fluid began leaking and took it back twice with no fix to the leak. Turns out they damaged the pan and I had to pay a reputable garage to replace the pan. this whole incident left me out quite a few $. steer clear. read more

I came back in an hour and was told they didn't find a leak in my tire, and it would still be 20 more minutes. I had a flat tire on my SUV and had resigned myself to the fact that I would probably have to buy a new tire. I should have made an appointment but didn't think to do that. I was given the best customer service. Nicole greeted me in a very friendly way and had my tire checked pretty quickly. How surprised was I when she told me that they could and did repair my tire. It wasn't even a fraction of what it would have cost to replace the tire. They could have easily told me I needed a new tire and I would not have bought a new tire. Even the young man that repaired my tire was so nice. I thanked him and told him that I was so happy and he gave me a big smile and said he was glad that they could fix my tire for me. I actually went to this store several years ago and received excellent service then too. I will continue to go to Tires Plus in Bryn Mawr. People are quick to complain when they are unhappy but I believe that the employees at this store put the customer first! read more

While I would have never trusted Tires Plus in Bryn Mawr, PA to do any real mechanic work on my car I thought they would be able to handle simple tasks ... I was wrong. I mistakenly, thought with a name like Tires Plus, they would know how to do a relatively simple task, like rotate the tires. I recently took my car to the dealer to have some routine maintenance work done. My car was engineered to have wider tires on the back wheels and slightly narrower tires on the front wheels. The dealer found it amusing when they discovered two wider tires on the driver side of the car and two narrower tires on the passenger side. (The tire rotation was done by Tires Plus.) While the dealer assured me this probably did not cause any harm to my car, they did think it was funny that Tires Plus didn't know how to properly rotate the tires. More recently, my wife's car developed a slow leak in one tire, every week or so we needed to add air. One Sunday she decided to call Tires Plus to have them fix the tire. When she called she was told they could look at the tire and it would only take 15 minutes to do this. She drove over to Tires Plus and waited about an hour and a half. When they came out to talk with her, Tires Plus told her there was a nail in the tire and it was on the shoulder, too close to the side wall to repair. Tires Plus told her she needed a new tire and they would be happy to put it on right then. She declined their offer and brought the car home. I took her car to another auto repair shop who looked at the car, and told me in less than 5 minutes, the tire was fine but there was a slow leak at the valve stem. They even sprayed a little water on the valve stem to show me. Not only is Tires Plus not able to perform very basic/simple auto maintenance, like properly rotating tires, they are also dishonest and will lie to sell un-necessary services and goods. If you decide to use this business, do so at your own risk and be very careful! read more

Not to bore you, the manager in charge is dishonest( I think his name is Bill) He will not honor brake pads special prices saying it is only available when they are in stock. I've come here twice, solely because of its convenient location. Except for the one woman who works here, the staff act like they don't notice or care that you're there. Grumpy, ignore you completely until they're finished shuffling papers around or whatever else they're doing. Also slow, and they don't even bother to call to let you know how things are going or what's wrong. I dropped my car for a presumably simple tire repair at 10:30 AM. Didn't hear from them all day. When I finally called at 4:30, I got the impression they hadn't even looked at my car. The guy who answered the phone wasn't even sure which Tires Plus he was working at, and of course couldn't tell me how long it would be. Fortunately I called back and got Ms. Only-One-Who-Knows-What's-Going-On and got a straight answer. Bottom line: only come here if you're desperate. read more

I've been going here for a few years and they've been very decent to work with. It's convenient, they do fast work, they're efficient, polite and they've matched Costco prices on tires. I like that they automatically rotate tires with every oil change which increases the lifespan of the tires. I have gone in for an oil change and come out spending more than I expected, but that's always been because they checked and I needed a new cabin air filter (hadn't ever changed it), new brakes (they were wearing thin and due to be changed). Was I disappointed that I had to spend more than I had intended? Of course. Was I happy that they caught these things? Yes. So I don't really buy that they're suggesting things that I don't need for my car. I'm a woman, not a mechanic, but I've never felt as though I've been taken advantage of as a result. And when they say I need new brakes, I get a quote, call around and see if the price is fair and reasonable. It always is. read more

Tires Plus?, no Tires Minus! Bought a new tire (mounting, balancing, etc) at Tires Plus. While on the highway I felt a really bad vibration. Went back to have the tire re-balanced. Also had the other tires re-balaced. Back on the highway, had the same bad vibration. I went to my car dealer to check out the car as I was concerned there could be a major problem with the car. They checked the car and told me the tires needed to be re-balanced ($80)! Back on the highway, no vibration, problem solved. Stopped by Tires Plus to share this with them. Their response: "we had problems with our wheel balancing machine for a couple of weeks, sorry about that!". My thoughts: if you can't even do tires properly, much less create a dangerous situation for your customers, and don't offer to make it right somehow, I have no use for you and I suggest others shouldn't either. read more

I started coming to Tires Plus in Bryn Mawr when I ordered new tires online and selected them as the installer. Best decision I ever made! That was 2 years ago and I keep going back. I have never had a bad experience of any sort. The hours are great, the staff is great - Ron, Dave, and especially Nicole - each one is courteous and caring. They take their time and make each customer feel special. I "abandoned" my local garage and now go here for regular service needs (inspection, oil changes, etc.) and always leave completely satisfied. read more

Today was probably my fourth or fifth time using Tires Plus in Bryn Mawr. In my experience, the overall Yelp rating doesn't seem fair. I've brought my car for inspections, new tires, battery issue, and wipers. They've always asked what I'm bringing the car in for, and called before doing any work. Each time they have explained what needed to be done and why, and gave me different options to choose from to fit my budget. One visit, my tire pressure light kept coming on, no matter the temps outside/how many times I kept filling them. I figured it was probably a sensor issue so when they told me I needed four new tires, I was like, "WHAT???? Four at ONCE?" They actually showed me the tires and the damage, and what was causing them to be shredded from the inside where you couldn't see. It had to do with the alignment of the car and, in fairness, the car had taken a beating over the winter with all the damn potholes and construction in the area (plus teen drivers with access to the car, so.....) Once the problem was fixed, I never had another issue with the tires. Today I found out I needed some work, politely declined part of the recommendation, and the employee understood. He warned what I might experience in the car without doing the particular part of work (which I thought was fair), but respected my wishes. I so appreciated his (and Nicole - who is always great) being reasonable that I booked an appointment for my other car to be inspected next week. The car has an engine light on, and they took the time to explain to me how the process works when you bring in a car for inspection with an engine light on (kind of a pain in the tush, but is what it is)...that I'll probably have to bring it in twice about a week apart, but he explained why, that the cost would not be more, etc. THAT is why I like going to this shop. I feel like they actually explain the whys and whats to you. I've truly never had a problem. Are they the cheapest? I'm going to guess not. But they are convenient, responsive, and treated me with respect. And no. I'm not related to any of them, nor did they ask for me to write this. They have no idea that I intended to. read more

Just pulled in to Tires Plus, with a half-flat tire. I have bought countless tires here over the past 20 years. It was 4:45 , and I asked one of the staff if they were closing. The guy said "7", and picked up his phone to make a call. I asked if someone could take a look at my tire, and he said "You probably have to leave it overnight." There were at least 3 workers sitting behind the counter, and nobody could even take a look at my tire. So, I left and went to my mechanic a few miles away on my flat, and he is plugging it now. The Tires Plus Website talks big about "Service, satisfaction, and wanting 'our guests to be excited' about the service they receive." I'm excited about the service alright, and am sharing my experience here, and on both of my Facebook pages. Don't waste your time coming here if you have an emergency, even if you have to drive on your rim to get to another of the many nearby tire places. read more

Two years ago I had Tires Plus change the spark plugs on my Lexus RX300. Unknown to me, they broke off the bolts holding the coil in place and attached it using duck tape. Today I had the car at another repair place because the coil was malfunctioning and they told me to come over and showed me how they had jammed the coil into place with duck tape and the bolts were sheared off. It is now a much bigger deal to drill out the bolts if possible. Tires Plus was dishonest with me by not telling me what they did and trying to hide it. I would never go back there again! read more
