Another broken lug stud due to cross threaded lug nut
Shaun O.

This is the Second time this location has cross threaded lug nuts on this truck. The first time the replaced the studs (yes plural). The last time I was in a crunch and had to use them for last minute tires. They replaced two front tires and I even requested to not install the lug nuts with an impact. Please start the install by hand then tighten. As you can see they didn't care to follow a simple request. Tires plus has lost my trust and business. They had done EVERYTHING in maintenance and repairs for a one owner Pilot with 300k miles.

6/32nds of tread depth across the face of this front tire they told me NEEDED to be replaced due to wear.

I dropped off my wife's vehicle with requests to change the oil, rotate the tires, align the vehicle, and repair the left front tire. I received the expected call from "J" offering me other services on her crossover with 27k miles. His statement was emphatic and simple: You need new tires. I asked why. He said, "The Fronts have 1 to 3 mm left." I asked what this was in 32nds because I thought he must be confused, giving him a chance to think about this. His answer was 1 to 4/32nds of an inch. I declined this service. "J" abruptly thanked me and hung up. Here's the secret: Every Firestone/Tires Plus store has a daily budget of tires they need to sell from the corporation above the store, as well as bonus $ to managers and possible incentives to the salesperson. "J" was under pressure to sell tires. Know what you have before you go. The attached picture is the tire that was too worn to be repaired, and needed replacement according to this store. I measured with a tread depth gauge that was received from a Firestone store. I checked each tire at inner, center and edge of tread, and they were in the range of 5-7/32nds of an inch on each tread face. I only offer an initial of the salesperson, as I can't say if this was his idea, he was put up to it, or if it was a grand mistake. I'll choose to believe that he wasn't at fault, and not subject him to any embarrassment.

Excellent service. Guy behind the desk recommended tires that I wouldn't have known about. They look great!!! Between working the front he also helped the guys in the back to make a very speedy service.

Popped in for an oil change. Handled quickly (less than an hour) and professionally. Nice work...

When I arrived about 8:10 to get my car, the guy who had been keeping me posted, Jeremy, I believe, was there alone waiting on me.

Prior to stalling, the truck had been jerking, sputtering during acceleration, and losing power while driving. After evaluating the truck, I was told the spark plugs needed to be replaced. I approved the repair and paid $509.19. I was then told the truck was fixed. Unfortunately, shortly after leaving, the exact same issue happened again. The truck began sputtering and completely died near Friendship Road and I985, creating a dangerous situation in traffic and resulting in another emergency tow that cost me an additional $300. I returned the truck and explained that the issue was still occurring. However, because the truck happened to start for them during testing, I was told they could not replicate the problem and did not know what was wrong. I specifically asked about fuel system concerns because the symptoms felt fuel related, but no diagnosis was made beyond the spark plugs. At that point, I no longer trusted the truck to be safe to drive and took it directly across the street to Christian Brothers Automotive Buford for a second opinion. Shortly after arriving there, the truck stalled again while they were attempting to move it into the service bay. Because the failure occurred while connected to diagnostics, they were able to pull active fault codes indicating issues with the fuel pump and fuel pump control module. I ultimately authorized approximately $2,000 in repairs for the actual problem. In retrospect, the spark plug replacement appears to have been more of a guess at the problem than an actual diagnosis, especially considering the symptoms remained exactly the same immediately afterward and the real issue turned out to be fuel system related. To be fair, intermittent mechanical issues can be difficult to diagnose, and the staff was polite throughout the process. However, I am disappointed that I spent over $500 on repairs that did not address the issue at all, followed by another breakdown and tow immediately after being told the vehicle was fixed. Given the safety risk involved with a vehicle stalling in traffic, I expected a more thorough diagnostic process before being told the truck was repaired.

Exceptional Service -- Business Earned for Life…read more 5 Star Experience - must read! We brought our 2021 Kia Telluride to Strickland Brothers for a routine oil change. Some time after, I noticed a small oil drip. At that point, it was never even fully determined whether it was something they did or simply a failed seal on our end -- and honestly, it was probably a part failure. What happened next is what truly sets this company apart. Michael, the owner, personally called me and handled the situation with professionalism and integrity. Because the line wasn't entirely clear on whether the issue was a failed part or something related to the service, he took ownership of making it right. His focus was on standing behind the work, doing right by the customer, and building a long-term relationship -- not pointing fingers. They went way above and beyond. Kia is notorious for requiring OEM parts (aftermarket just won't work properly), so they had to track down a specific part. Michael and his team called multiple Kia dealerships, pulled strings, and somehow managed to get the part the same day, even though we were originally told it could take several days. That alone was impressive. They repaired the vehicle immediately -- and the next morning, Michael and his father personally delivered the car to my house. His father has over 40 years of experience working on vehicles and plays an active role in overseeing the work, which really shows. The two of them together are an impressive team. In conversation, I mentioned to Michael that part of my work involves helping businesses think through customer experience, and we talked about what it looks like to truly take care of people. The hardest time to do that is when it costs the business owner money. This repair did cost him money -- and he still did the right thing without hesitation. I've already referred many people to Strickland Brothers in the past because of consistently good service -- but this experience was different. I can confidently say I will never get my oil changed anywhere else, and I will be using Strickland Brothers for any automotive service they offer. I'll continue referring people without hesitation. This is only the second time in my entire life I've said this about a business: They've earned my business for life.

Towards the end of last year (October-ish), I got my tires replaced at this location and everything was great! No real problems until April, when one of my tires kept going flat. I took my car back to this location and explained to them my predicament - explicitly mentioning not only that my car has had previous issues with the tire pressure sensors, but also that one of my tires kept going flat, no matter how often I would put air back into it. I called back 3 1/2 hours after dropping off my car to ask for an update and was told that they had been calling me for hours (Note: I did not have 1 missed call from anyone in my call logs!) and that my car had been done for a while. I asked them what problems they had found and what work had been done to fix their findings, to which I was met with a very condescending tone telling me that, "The only thing wrong with your car was that your tires were low on air, so we filled them up for you!" Naturally, I was very confused. I asked if they checked the sensors and the tires themselves for any problems and was, again, immediately met with a quick and snarky reply of Yes we checked it all and your car is fine. Fast forward to 2 (Two!!!!!) days later, my tire sensor light turns back on. One more day passes and my tire is flat once again. This time, I take it to another tire dealership in Winder. Within the hour, my tire is replaced due to the carpenter nail lodged within it! Isn't it crazy how that works? As a single young woman, I find the condescension and lack of respect absolutely ridiculous. I admittedly do not know too much about cars, but if a customer comes into your establishment with a specific concern, I would try listening to them. I realistically would not be able to Ever recommend this location to someone after my experience.
