I had my oil changed at Valvoline a while back and tried to have them fix a brake light but it turned out to be the socket needing to be replaced not the light. I was told it might be about $60 but didn't have time that day. As I was driving by Tires Plus today thought I would stop in there and have them do it. Even though I knew what needed to be done, they charged me $32 for an inspection only to come back 90 minutes later with a quote over $500! I of course left disgusted and drove straight to the Valvoline I went to originally. I didn't mention any of the shenanigans that Tires Plus tried to pull, but just stated I needed my light fixed. A few minutes later it was fixed by adjusting the parts so there was a connection. No parts needed to be ordered or replaced, just $20 in labor. Needless to say I am now having my socket replaced elsewhere and will not be returning to ANY Tires Plus location again. read more

I went to have my Honda Pilot looked at for vibrations while driving/braking and oil change. They told me $14.99 for a complete check and they would call me before they started their work. I got a call and hour and a half later after walking home, saying that the vehicle needed over $2,000 with of repairs. I told them not to do the work due to finances (considering trading the vehicle in for one with a lower payment and fewer repair expenses). When I went to pick up the vehicle they said I owed $71.00 and asked if I would like to add money to donate to the boys and girls club. I was shocked because I didn't expect them to do the oil change after I declined the work over the phone. They said "we thought you still wanted the oil change". Why would I want to put a $71.00 oil change in a vehicle that I may want to trade in tomorrow? I've used these guys with other vehicles over several years, and normally no issues other than going way over the time they quote. The manager gave me $25 off, but I don't plan on going back. I know it is my opinion, but when someone needs multiple things done, wouldn't you clarify which things should done automatically and which things need approval. Make sure to repeat back to the customer what they are doing/getting and make sure they leave happy or else it is complimentary. They knew I was mad and let me leave, that shows that they don't care. They join my list of businesses to avoid along with spirit airlines. read more

They ruined all four rims on my car installing expensive new tires, but Mike the Mgr says all those scratches are from driving over curbs one day! Not!! I know for a FACT they were NOT there when I drove into the place. How dare they assume because I'm a woman they can take advantage of me! I found the scratches after they installed the tires. Scam artists. Took one of my cars in for new front brakes 2016. Quoted $850. I left $1200 later because they noticed I needed additional parts. OK. First time there. Paid, thank you, left. Took another car in just for an oil change and given a quote, left my car overnight. 7:45 I was called and quoted $1000 for a new battery ($260 where you can get any battery for $120-150 average from Advance or Auto Zone). She went on to say (manager I think) I had 'some nails' in my driver front tire and rear passenger that were 'irrepairable'. Overall, quoted over $1000 extra. I said no thanks and just took the oil change. As I checked out, the man going over my paperwork made a point to tell me 'oh she gave you a good deal on those tires, too bad' and made this face like I was making a mistake. It was in that moment I had a feeling I didn't need new tires, the overall last minute push to try to get me to get tires (I get it, it's a tire place, try to sell me on tires). Nice touch trying to push me into it though, trying to make me feel like I was missing out on a deal on the crappy Firestone tires 'she' picked for me as if I'd allow someone to pick tires and spend $700 FOR me without me researching what tires I WANTED first. Got the car home, I looked over it, and a screw was in the outside of my tire, which is odd, because I hadn't seen it there when I washed my car the week before. I drive my car 6 miles/day. From a clean garage/driveway to a clean parking spot at work. I understand that a screw could have been anywhere along the way, but a 'few'? I didn't drive through a construction site. Sounded suspicious. Again, this car isn't on highways, it's my work car. So when I saw the screw, I was afraid to pull it out with what could happen so I brought it to Action Gator down the road instead. A man came out of the garage immediately as he saw me trying to find the one screw I COULD locate, and told me to maneuver the car and the wheel around to look at it and look for the others. There was what appeared to be two tiny pebbles and that screw in the tire. He pulled the screw out, and squirted solution over it. He saw that it did not bubble, so there was no leak. The pebbles, he took the corner of a crowbar and picked right off and said "You're all set! Have a good day!" I left so happy that he did that as a mere courtesy for me, seeing my concern when I pulled in. Then my happiness turned to anger at how Tires Plus tried to screw me over on a new set of tires when I didn't need them. Either they lied trying to make me think a pebble was a nail or never bothered to check if they were pebbles or not. Never again. I can't help but feel like if you LEAVE your car at these places, you're more than likely at work and busy when they call you about 'other things' and they think most people are quick to say OK I need my car and I'm at work and to do whatever you have to and pay and move on. If you leave it, they know you're not there to supervise and ask questions. That's what I think, then again, I'm a woman so that seems to be a double whammy. It's assumed I know nothing about cars even though in actuality, I do know basic car maintenance and parts of cars and what they do. Nice try Tires Plus. Try the next sucker, not someone who has a brain and can check something herself before paying $1000. And thank you Action Gator! read more

They explained everything to me fully, gave me options when possible, answered all of my questions and explained the need for each repair. The work was done meticulously (as is the case with the numerous times I have taken ALL my cars to them) and accurately. These people are crooks! I took my car in and they told me I needed over $1,000 in work including front brakes. Afterwards, I found my paperwork from the previous car owner who had the front brakes done not even 12 months ago. I went to Pep Boys in Sanford for a 2nd opinion and nothing that Tires Plus said was true. I didn't need any work. read more

These guys gave me clear expectations that it would take a full day to fix, and the price was even better than they originally quoted me. Made apt om 11-9-17 online and when arrived they said there was "glitch" and it didn't transfer over or something, no big deal. Asked for oil change and left to do some shopping. 2 hours later we returned and sat inside (with no acknowledgement at all). Another 30 mins later we we asked what was up and told there were 2 lugs and studs broken and it would be 40 more dollars and 45 mins. I was very upset and yes I did get loud but the "service manager" would not let me talk and kept cutting me off and said "dude I can just back it out and you can take it as is". Would anyone drive with studs missing and put their grandkids in such a vehicle? So we waited another hour and again my wife looked to see where it was and it was parked outside and then the clerk said "oh yeah it was done" . I went on the company website the next day on the "chat now" section and was told someone's would contact me within 48 hours...5 days later, nothing. The lack of customer service is exceeded only by their lack of mechanical ability. They claimed my last oil change was "free" but we paid for it. And they were so busy trying to blame us for tire issues but they are the only ones who rotated the tires..3 times this year. So check your tires and make sure they aren't cross threaded cause when they break they will bla,e you. This must be the true nature of the culture of this company! read more
