So, set an appointment for 2pm, arrived on time, was not greeted, but instead was told it would take hours... well, while I'm writing this it's been 52 minutes and my vehicle is still sitting where I parked it when I arrived. Ya, I guess if you just leave it parked in the same place, it will take hours. I hope tires plus monitors this page. Wow, why make an appointment if you're not going to do the work when someone arrives? I guess I made a mistake I've been going to one on south Virginia st. Where I feel valued as a customer this place not at all. Guess it's the training given? Poor management, needs to improve. I scheduled an appointment on a day that they said I would be able to get oil change done at appointment time and wait for my vehicle. After waiting over 1.5 hours they hadn't even started doing the oil change. After asking they pulled it in a bay it's been over 3 hours since my arrival and my vehicle is still on a rack. Never come here for an oil change even if you have "an appointment". Rude and short answers if anything is asked and they don't give updates. read more

Tires Plus on South Virginia is not the same business as when our good friend Travis managed the place. There's been nothing but confusion and inaccurate information since we took our car in for servicing today. From the time we dropped it off at 9:30 this morning per our appointment for an oil change, we heard nothing until we called at 2:30 to check on our car's status. Even that call took two attempts because we were cut off initially. We were also told the oily substance on our garage floor was nothing to be concerned about. We were told it was water from the condenser on the air conditioner. Now my husband knows what drips from the air conditioner condenser look like and this oily substance was not that. In addition to that, the website says they close at 6 o'clock and I just received a call asking me to pickup my car by 5 o'clock, because that's when they close! No explanation given for the discrepancy. After doing business at Tires Plus for over 15 years, after today's experience, we will be looking for another business to service our vehicles. read more

I brought my truck in to Tires Plus (on N. MacCarren in Reno) to address a check engine light problem. They claimed to have found multiple issues with it and it came to $791.11. When i left my truck didn't seem to be running great but the check engine light was off. Several days later I went to fill up my gas tank and could not remove the cap. I brought it to another local mechanic (Big O on Kietzke in Reno)for help and they found it'd been glued on. When the cap finally came off, the check engine light came back on. I made an appointment with Big O to address the check engine light issue and when they went in, they found a simple solution (it was a simple leak) and additionally they found numerous hoses and clamps disconnected and/or removed. This was done on parts that were not worked on by Tires Plus, but completely unrelated parts of the truck. I went to Tires Plus to explain the problem and was told I could leave my vehicle with them and they would contact management. I did not feel comfortable leaving my truck with them and eas never contacted by management. I've called multiple times now to address the problem but am told there was no issue and I have no proof. read more

Yet another emergency visit to Tires Plus! I was disappointed to hear Cameron had left to his own shop but was shocked to see that he had been replaced by someone even better! I walked into Tires Plus expecting one of the worst days ever, but Tre Wisdom completely turned it around. He went above and beyond to help me and ensured I was taken care of from start to finish. I was so depressed about my car breaking down but he lifted my spirits. Super professional, but also just a genuinely awesome guy--he explained everything clearly, made sure I understood what was going on, and treated me like a valued customer, not just another ticket in the system. It's rare to find customer service like this, and Tre delivered. If you ever need work done on your car, ask for Tre--you won't regret it! Thanks again, man! Needed tires on my truck was told 2.5 hr wait I understood that as I did not have an appointment but needed tires. But 4.5 hours later truck still not done and nobody is even working on it I will Not recommend this place to anyone. The issues started when I picked up my car. I paid over $900 and walked to my car noticing that the tire they were supposed to repair (front driver) was flat, even though their checklist showed it was repaired and all tires filled to 33 psi. I took my gauge out & the tire pressure was 17psi. Went back in and was told they fixed the flat but they must have forgotten to put air in it. I also noticed that the rotation was not done but the manager Mark Atwood said I was wrong. I told him I could prove it due to the damage on the front rim that had specific markings and I had pics. He had me pull back in & as they filled my tires with air they broke the tire valve on the rear driver tire. Again, I asked Mark to look at the proof I had regarding the rotation and flat not being fixed, he refused saying he believed his mechanic not me. After an hour waiting for repair of broken valve I left. I returned the next day as my tpms warning light never went off. This ended up being another hour of Mark being unwilling to listen to my concerns about all the repairs they said were done. He claimed to have repaired the driver rear tire and said it was originally the front driver tire prior to rotation (which never happened) After more frustration at not being listened to and again being called a liar (have video proof) as well as being told everything was fixed, I left. 6 days later after driving approximately 100 miles, my check engine light came back on, I had it scanned & it showed the same issues I'd just paid to have fixed. Tires plus manager Mark called me a liar after showing him this. I also reached out to their district manager and corporate offices with no call back. I had to go elsewhere for all repairs to be done properly. Les Schwab (Kietzke Ln) for tires and CarZone for the other issues, both were honest and treated me great! It only took the Les Schwab 5 minutes to tell me the tire problem was a cracked rim on front driver side which was why it kept going flat. Apparently Tires Plus couldn't figure that out so they let me drive off in an unsafe vehicle. Also didn't need brakes or rotors. These guys are thieves and treat customers with a total lack of respect. I hope this keeps one person from getting ripped off. read more

I had a reservation for oil change at 11:30 and left car there on time. I had been quoted 1hr:15min so went nearby for lunch. I returned at 12:45 to find my vehicle in the same spot I left it. The attendant (Will) checked and said it hadn't been worked on. So I wasted nearly an hour and a half for nothing. Asked the person at the front desk that question and they said they forgot that's a great excuse. Also they performed a vehicle inspection that wasn't asked for. I wanted to post this review because I feel I was taken advantage of by this place today on my visit! First off the young gentlemen at the counter was not too friendly at all. I miss the gentlemen that helped us in the past he was more upbeat and easier to work with and did not gouge me with overpricing! My parking bulb light went out on one of my tail lights and it took the worker 20 minutes to fix it and I was charged $90.00 for labor and the bulb was only $3.00. I should of only paid around $50.00 so I was ripped off! I went to another auto place to get oil change and they stated they would of done something like that for like $30.00! In fact the kind gentlemen that helped us a couple of years ago at Tires Plus did not charge us anything and we just paid for the bulb. He actually installed it in himself and it took him like 15-18 minutes. Now I am not looking for free labor but $90.00 for 20 minutes of work is not acceptable and I will not be coming back to their store anymore! On top of that the employees could be a lot more friendlier and engaging! That is how it use to be but looks like it has gone downhill! read more

I bought a tire from tires plus about 3 months ago. I put around 15k miles on when I noticed my car had a weird bouncing feeling. I discovered that my brand new tire from tires plus had not one not two but eight bulges on the inside sidewall. I called the place and they said they would put a new tire on it. Well I took in the tire and the employee looked it over. He then tells me it's going to cost me $125 to put a new tire on it even though it's still under warranty and it originally cost $200. Brought our car in six weeks ago to be evaluated. We were told we needed new rear struts. We paid for this evaluation and made an appointment 6 weeks in the future to take advantage of a sales promotion. Showed up for our 9 am appointment on time. There were three people sitting at their desks when we walked in but there was no acknowledgment of our presence until 5 minutes later when we were told the computers were booting up. We asked how long the work would take and initially received a blank look but were then told the book says to allow 2 1/2 hours, maybe 3. After 2 1/4 hours,we went back to the desk to ask status since our car had not yet been moved from its parking spot. We were then told they still didn't have the part, that they don't order it til the customer arrives, but it was on its way and it happened to arrive during this conversation. We were then advised it would be another 2 hours. Long story short, they received the wrong part and reordered it from two other places while we sat there but each time it was the wrong part and they finally came to the conclusion the only place that had the needed part was the dealer which is closed on Sundays. Tires Plus on South Virginia. Made an appt to have tires rotated and after dropping off car I got a call that they could not rotate tires as they were too worn. These were Bridgestone Dueller HP with less than 6,000 miles on them. Installed on car for 6 months only. I went to pick up car and my car had not been moved and they would not give me anything in writing to contact Bridgestone. I finally got the free inspection at another Tires Plus and they said there was no warranty on the tires. I have spent 1 week trying to contact Bridgestone and only get there is no warranty. It means nothing that the tires have less than 6,000 miles on them. I have reached out to Bridgestone and no return response. How can they sell a tire that lasts less than 6,000 miles. I think Bridgestone should stand behind their tires. DO not purchase Bridgestone tires. Remember Tires Plus is owned by Bridgestone. read more

I received an email from the owner of this business regarding how they ripped me off for 172 dollars because of the damage that Paul Wickenhiser caused to my Honda's navigation. It said to tell them what happened even though I told them before in my Yelp review. So I repeated my story. And guess what. I came into Tires Plus because I saw my light on for low air on my back right tire. I asked the front desk to help me. He was very snappy and cut me off mid sentence and said let me finish. I found that very rude. He sent me to pull up my car to receive air. His name was Roger in the bay. I asked him to please put all 4 tires at 35PSI and to check back right for a possible leak/visible nail. My dash then showed 50PSI for all tires. I told Roger this isn't correct, which he explained that my dash is incorrect and it's the weather increasing air. That makes NO sense because I've lived here for a bit and my tires and gauge have never done this. I went to Discount Tires because I trust them a lot and received 2nd opinion. They explained to me that this was unacceptable, and double check to make sure there wasn't air sensor that was wrong on my dash. Come to find out they were all 50 psi. I was done informed by discount that the max my tires can hold is 40 to 45 psi. Discount also informed me that if I continue to drive with this high air pressure that I could've gotten in a serious car accident and if I were to have driven on the freeway, my tires would've blown. I just want others to know that this location as I cannot speak for other locations, is a complete safety hazard. I was going there because it was the closest one to my house and I didn't want my tire to blow. I will no longer feel comfortable going to tires plus and I will only be returning to discount tire. Also, when I talked to the person at the front desk when I called back, he continued to cut me off as I was speaking about my complaint, and did not apologize. super disappointed in this place. Started out with having a catastrophic failure of a tire. granted, this isn't tires plus fault. They did repair it and only charged me to dispose of the tire. I asked them to please put my spare back under my car as I just had my neck fused and can't lift. The tech assured me it would be done and even offered to pay for the extra service. Come to find out they threw it in the back of my SUV. I, Then scheduled an appointment for 9 am this morning for my brakes to be fixed and an alignment. I called at 12:30 and they were clueless and asked what car was mine and if i left the keys...All yes. The guy I spoke to a couple days ago told me to leave them in the drop box as I had a prior engagement at 8 am. When I called to inquire if they were don they stated they hadn't even started. They would take 30 minutes to do an inspection(mind you it was done ready a week ago and THEY KNEW WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE) I am set to go out of town, taking my car, with new brakes. Which now i'll have to rent a car as My brakes aren't good enough to take on a long road trip, as they couldn't honor my appointment time and wanted me to wait several more hours. I just came into the store to ask simply for a nail to be pulled in my tire to be plugged which last time I came here a year ago they did in 10 minutes flat now they want $30 $10 more than last time and they want me to wait an hour and a half last time I came here they had me park in the driveway. Had a mechanic pull my tire off with a jack run inside patch the tire back out within 10 minutes this timethey said an hour and a half. I asked if he could squeeze me in between things and he said absolutely not these people have appointments I said as a small business owner I am trying to fix my work vehicle to get to a job. Paula at Tires Plus really made a terrible situation all that better! I had recently gotten into an accident due to the recent snow storm and needed a new wheel. I was already very nervous and had brought my dad and boyfriend to help me because I felt I had no idea what to do and was afraid of being upsold (this was my first time buying anything like this for my car). Come to meet Paula and she had such an amazing attitude, really friendly and calmed my nerves. She did mention I needed new tires all together but was not condescending and very empathetic. Even when I bombarded her with questions she was nice enough to continuously go back and forth form checking my car outside and helping me inside. The mechanics did try to fix my rim but it was too far gone, but I was fine as Paula had explained nicely over the phone what next steps I needed to be done and was very honest. It was so busy that day but I could see she was so patient with everyone despite the chaos of yesterday storm. I made an appointment through the phone and got to the business and had to wait three and a half hours. I was told that when booking on the phone it's through the customer service center and not the actual place of business. I drove from over an hour away and they said they could get me in for a timed appointment two days later which was not possible in my schedule and I had already driven from Tahoe. Transparency and honesty are crucial for me when dealing with mechanics. This is not what I received here. Heather at Tires Plus, is the most amazing person I've worked with to deal with car things! First I wasn't hearing back from the collision center where my car was supposed to go to be fixed. All I really needed was a tire! She helped me find the one and only one in the country (all wheel drive) and called to ask how long it would take to get there, also offered me different shipping choices. I went with overnight since my car has been out of commission for 2 months. She called me when it was in and it was so quick to get it put on. Also gave me great advice about what to do with my insurance and the collision place. Second I took my moms car in to get a new headlight for a Mother's Day present (what all moms dream of right?) and she told me the light bulb was going to $94 she said she'd have them double check to make sure that was what it needed. It was unfortunately! But she really felt bad charging me that price for it! I love this store they are so helpful, and personable! Definitely will be taking all our cars there for future service! I made an appointment to get my snow tires on and my summer tires removed. My appointment was scheduled for 10 am and I arrived at 9:30 (I know I arrived early but I figured it would leave me ready to go right at 10 after checking in, going over paperwork etc.). My car did not even get pulled into the bay until after 12:30...and I did not leave until after 2. Over 4 hours to get my tires on... I would have dropped off my vehicle if I knew they would take this long. If you value your time then take your business elsewhere...appointments here are a joke. read more

Worst experience ever. I made an appointment yet he still said it would be several hours till they got to my vehicle. The appointment was made for 8:30 AM and when I made the appointment I discussed with the lady that it would be quick because it was first thing in the morning. Will never even consider using this tires plus ever again. I do not have several hours on a workday to wait around for my vehicle to get done when it is a 30 minute to 1 hour job maximum. This Tires Plus has been cough red-handed recommending parts customers do not need for repair. This has happened to me twice, the second time I even video tapped it. I called the State of Nevada the first time, because it was stated 'under a new law I would XY & Z' so I called the state of Nevada and the state of Nevada called them, spoke with Heather, and their story was changed. I had a lifetime alignment for one of my cars so I went back for this service, and once again, Cameron and his staff, had my car for three hours and stated they cannot do the alignment and XYZ was the reason. Travis, the area manager and I agreed for me to take the car to a reputable name brand mechanic shop and see what they find. Their results 100% proved tires plus was lying, recomding parts I did not need. I video tapped this and will be uploading this on Youtube at some point. Just FYI this Tires Plus is rated an F with the Better Business Bureau. Heather, Cameron, Travis, are shady people. They will say whatever they need to say and their staff is trained to take advantage of people by recommending parts and labor they do not need.. A single parent mother, a person that does not know cars, should stay away from this business, because they are looking to take advantage of people because they do not know cars. It is a matter of fact I seen with my own two eyes this Tires Plus recommend the exact same $400 of labor to three customers in a row and not one of them walked in the door wanting that service. All three customers came in for something else but yet this $400 of labor services was told to them, claiming 'this is also what they need.' This Tries Plus is scamming people to make an extra buck. Good luck, not going to lie, this is a hard town to find honest, good mechanic service. This is the third Negative review I had to give in Reno NV concerning mechanic service... Johns Electric, Nicks Automotive, and now Tries Plus, and they do not make it right at the end of the day even when they are cough red-handed. Tires Plus is owned by Bridge Stone, they were supposed to call me and make this right over a month ago, 14 emails of them stating 'we are sorry give us 2-3 business days and the reginal/director/ or whatever title else title they have and they will contact me' but they have not. Had to get a new tire they refused to sell a new tires because we refused to buy all 4 new tires. So we compared 4 new ones. They over priced for all 4 new ones they wanted $5,234. Went somewhere else and got all 4 Brand new for $2,221.75 all. Turns out that they sell the Is exact same tire, Tires plus adding all these things like tire recovery/tire Recycling,Rubber recycling Rubber mounting,than rim mounting and repair. If not now then I'd have to drop off the vehicle.
