Wow! Just wow! We arrived at 1:30 on a Sunday. There were two tables of people- 1 with 6 people who were finished and one with 2 who did not have their food yet. We were seated and our drinks arrived immediately. (NOTE: you do not have to order the bottled water; they have great tasted ice water for free!) The mango drink was delish, though! We put in our order for a Vegetarian platter and a meat platter immediately. 20 minutes later, Another table of 4 men came in, and a table of 3 who were "starving" so asked for a rush on their appetizer and soup. The table of 2 received their food and we waited as we watched a few to go orders come and go and another table of 2 show up. There was only one woman doing everything!! The starving table received their appetizers (they sure didn't look emaciated to me). And we sat for another 20 minutes waiting for our food. After 40 minutes, we were about ready to pay for our drinks and walk out, but felt sorry for her. We assume her help didn't show up for the day and left her hustling solo. Then the food arrived. WORTH THE DAMN WAIT! Everything was hot. You don't need the sourbread flats (enjero) but it is so good!! Everything was fantastic and and enough food we got 2 more meals out of it! And it tastes just as great reheated!! You have to try this place if you have any sense of culinary love! Give yourself and your or more just in case this time factor wasn't a fluke. Even if it is always like that, we are definitely going back!!

Love love love this restaurant. By far the best Ethiopian food I have ever had and our favorite go to dining out meal. I typically order the vegan platter (although I'm not vegan). It's a beautiful combination of flavors, textures and enough variety that you never get tired of eating it. Of course it is always plated beautifully as well. For those that enjoy meat, the meat platter is equally delicious and the chicken in the platter melts in your mouth and is to die for The service is great and the owners are so so sweet. I've probably eaten from here 7 times and whether I order takeout or dine in, the food is consistent and never disappoints. I can not recommend this restaurant enough. If you enjoy Ethiopian food or have never tried it, do yourself a favor and get here ASAP!

I have been wanting to try Tiru for quite awhile, and now I'm kicking myself for waiting so long I called at 12:00 to place a to-go order, and they told me it would be 20 minutes - which was perfect because that's just about how long it took me to drive there. The food was ready when I arrived. It was hot, and packaged nicely so it didn't leak. The restaurant was nicely decorated, clean, and inviting. The server was busy but greeted me right away and was very friendly. I ordered the beef wot which comes with injera. The portion was large, the beef was tender, the injera was soft, and it had plenty of flavor. I would absolutely order from Tiru again. I can't wait to try some of their other dishes.

Such a local cute mom and pop place to eat. I had heard MANY great things about this place! Finally had the opportunity to try it and it did not disappoint. We got the meat platter and vegetarian, enough food to feed 4 people. It was just two of us and we barely finished half! The Injera bread was so delicious and filling! The prices was about 13-20$

I checked out Tiru for the first time yesterday. This is probably my fifth or sixth time having Ethiopian food so I knew pretty much what to expect. I admit I was a little disappointed but I think part of it has to do with me not ordering to my tastes. Let me explain. At other ethnic restaurants, especially African ones, Ive found that the menu doesn't always tell you what your actual plate will include. Traditionally at Ethiopian places I've ordered the entree and with it has come sides, like lentils or my favorite Atakilt Wat ( a yummy mix of turmeric, carrots and potato). This time I ordered the beef tibs and it included exactly what it said it would on the menu: a reasonable portion (I.e. not huge) of the tibs with one slice of injera bread for another $13. For a few dollars more I could have had a bigger variety with one of the platters. I'll do that next time! When folks ask me what to get I nearly always recommend tibs for the first timers. It's meat cut into little pieces, spices added, grilled with veggies. It's simple. The Kay wat is usually a brown sauce heavy on spices. The injera bread has a lovely sour taste to it. I love this bread so much! I felt like Tiru's bread had a light sour flavor. I prefer stronger. The bread is used in place of utensils and really adds to the flavor. That's why I love ethnic foods like African, Thai, Mexican - the flavors are made to work together and enhance the meal. Also I haven't checked yet but if she has the Ethiopian tea - yeah add that to your order. It's a sweet, delightful, hot after dinner treat. I will for sure give Tiru another chance, likely many more. I was bummed when Ajora Falls closed down and I'm happy to have found this little gem. I beg of you to please support these restaurants! It's something special that Lincoln has such a blessed variety of cultural delights in our city. I'd love to see this business thrive for years to come. I've also heard this restaurant is woman owned!

The food here was extremely good. I tasted a lot of new flavors that I hadn't really tasted in other foods before. The injera is slightly sour and the best vehicle to transport the food. I ate in with my friends and we were the only ones eating in so it was very quiet. The server was attentive and we got our food within maybe 25 minutes. I would definitely recommend trying anything here because it looks amazing.

Best Ethiopian food in town! Full of authentic flavors and spices. I absolutely love the Misir Wot (lentil stews), I could eat it everyday! Staff is incredibly kind and attentive. Can't wait to eat here again!

Try the hot tea. If you like chai spice, it's right there with it. The red lentil stew was amazing. Good food to warm the soul on a single digit degree day.

Amazing food! Great service. They also have lots of cool Ethiopian art on the walls and a coffee ceremony display. I love the Doro wot and vegan platter. So rich and full of delicious spices.

It is not the same as West African style Fu Fu, I don't really know how to describe it...soft and crumbly? It comes with a red sauce and a green sauce, like spinach. I like it with the "chicken steak". They'll bring a squeeze bottle of hot sauce to your table...it's hot! Really nice. And also a bottle of Ranch because that's always good. The space is bright and clean. Sometimes the TV is loud, there is a quieter room there, and of course they will turn down the volume if you ask. They will give you a drink and fruit with your meal. Sometimes I also get the spiced tea - super sweet. I was curious about the Anjera. This is not the same as Ethiopian Injera. The Anjera here is a breakfast food, served with sugar and sesame oil. It was very good and not like anything I had ever eaten before. Give this place a try!
