You get a million negative stars from me, and I'm sure my neighbors would say the same. I live in an apartment complex that recently changed from Retriever Towing to this BULLSHIT company. Apparently the owner was with Safeguard Towing before. He must not have learned much. The signs changed out front a few weeks, maybe a few months ago. I called Retriever, but they're not willing to come here without a contract. For the past 3 nights, a car alarm has been going off at midnight, 2 AM, 3 AM, 5 AM, 7 AM. This morning it started at 3:45 and it is now 6:17 AM and it went off for over an hour straight when it started, is still going off, but less frequently due to the battery losing juice. Myself and about 15+ neighbors were outside at 4 AM, waiting for the cops to come, because the number on the sign that Titan Towing supplied management DOES NOT WORK. It goes STRAIGHT TO FAX. So we whipped out our smart phones and tried to find their number online, a website, something. Some people called 411. There's no listing for Titan Towing. There's no website. There's no number listed anywhere. Just on the sign. And it doesn't work. As residents, we are stuck. The person isn't home today. It's in the middle of the complex, so everyone hears it. A cop came and couldn't do anything but write them an incident report and leave it on their car, so here it is, going off again. The only thing that could take care of this problem is Retriever Towing, or a legitimate Towing company. Titan Towing is neither. We are legally allowed a 24 hour towing number that FUNCTIONS. You people don't even have a method of contact. I used to work for the owner, so I'm going to do my best to have them switch back to Retriever. They answered the phone promptly at 5 AM and apologized for the issue that you aren't taking care of. Titan Towing towed my car on Friday night from LaSalle apartments because I was visiting a boyfriend and did not have a Visitors Pass. I tried calling them on Saturday morning and it took an hour to get through & they do not have a voicemail that is set up. Their address and office hours are not listed on Google (sketchy) so I had no idea if and when I would ever get my car back. Finally they picked up, and I made an appointment. When my car was released to me (after paying $340 cash) I had issues getting it started and the anti-theft light kept coming on. Luckily, there is a one time override and I was able to get it out of the garage by holding the key to on for 15 minutes. After stopping at the Seven Eleven next door I could not get my car to turn on. So begins my weekend fiasco... I spent 6 hours on Saturday trying various ways to get the car to turn on at the Seven Eleven. I had to have it towed by triple A to a safe spot Saturday evening. On Sunday I had it towed by triple A using my mother's triple A gold membership to the Chevy dealership. The Chevy dealership found on Monday that the anti-theft module had been disconnected from inside of the car. This was a simple fix. Luckily they were able to reconnect it and get my car to turn on. The Chevy dealership charged me $99. I e-mailed the owner of Titan Towing my receipt and simply asked that I was reimbursed the $99. I suspect the towing driver opened my car door with a lock out kit and disconnected the module to try to put my car in neutral and more easily tow. But who knows.... it's possible something even more shady was going on with this like they were attempting to steal and sell my car. I asked the workers at the Chevy Dealership if I could have accidentally bumped the anti-theft module or something like that. They said absolutely not. This is not something that can be easily disconnected. The fact that it wasn't reconnected was an inconvenience and expense for my family and I. Patrick, the owner of this towing company refuses to take responsibility for this. He claims that nothing was disconnected by him or any of his staff. I guess he wants me to believe that ELVES broke into my car and disconnected it OR it magically became disconnected by some unknown force of the universe. To whoever at Titan Towing did this - not only do you work for an unaccredited company, and have a disgraceful job that no one will ever respect... you can't even do it properly! AND if you WERE trying to steal my car - you failed at that too! Again there WAS NO FIRE LANE MARKING OR A DESIGNATION. Titan Towing is a predatory towing company. They fall under violations against this law intended to protect consumers. We were towed from an unmarked spot not being parked more than an hour. We were charged exorbitant fees including a "steering" fee. Operator could not tell us who notified him of our vehicle likely indicating they operate with a spotter. He charged us a total of $490 for towing, storage, and generated fees! This falls under violation of the predatory towing laws. We have reported them to the Better Business Bureau as well as the Oregon Department of Justice Consumer Protection. I agree that everyone gets upset when their car gets towed but they tried towing my car from outside my apartment and I was present there before the hookup was complete. Oregon law states that the tower must release the vehicle at no charge if you are present at tow and the hookup is not complete. They refused to release my vehicle unless I pay $150 and even threatened to latch it and tow it away in front of me unless I pay. read more

Last night, 11-12-14 , I got towed. My girlfriend lives in an apartment complex in Beaverton. We decided to take her car into downtown Portland because it is a lot easier to negotiate than my truck. I backed into her spot at the apartment complex. Because we forgot to put the parking permit in my truck window, I got towed. That was our fault for not remembering, I take full responsibility for that. My issue with the tow was: $200 hook fee, $5 a mile (8 miles), because it was 4wd ($60), once he backed my truck into his garage and I was there for that $60, service call for $20, and an after hours gate fee of $40. Please be careful wherever this company patrols for towing cars. They select specifically non Oregon license plate cars to avoid messing with locals; and type of discrimination. They towed our car before sun down in an apartment complex parking as we are visitors. The rule is no parking without sticker after sun set. They towed our car but multiple other cars without sticker is not towed. I have heard also from a local that this company has been kicked out of parameters of Hillsboro due to multiple complaints and related unlawfully towing cars and asking cash only and not allowing investigating. Unfortunately business has not improved at Titan Towing. The fact that they towed my car is not the issue. I was parked incorrectly and deserved the tow understanding that it was my own laziness that caused this to happen. The issue was the damage to my car discovered after picking the car up from the impound lot. My car had not been in anybody else's possession from the time of parking to the time of picking it up after the tow yet I'm having to fight the company to cover damages. The police were called, time stamped photo's were taken, and an insurance claim has been filed. The problem is my insurance company cannot get Titan to release their insurance information. I've searched online through public records and attempted to reach out to the company on my own however have received no response. Crooks and predatory. Started towing my car while I was moving in. It was parked in front of my apartment. I heard them trying to put the tow equipment on. According to state law, if they are putting your car on tow and you catch them, they are supposed to release it. They called the beaverton cops and the cops didn't know the law, so they threatened to put me in jail if i didn't let them finish. Not sure if the cops were in on it, or just not properly trained. This company is scamming people by towing their cars from apt complexes...not for violation of permit parking but for parking with 1 inch of tire on a walkway. ridiculous. They come in at midnight and start towing. They have been contracted with lasalle apts for about 6 months and I have already had my car and a friends car towed. They are not the police and it is not their responsibility to tow cars that are parked over a parking line. Its simply a scam to get $250-275 from apt dwellers. and it is interesting how the fee changes..My friend was charged $275 and I was charged $250. A zero rating if I could. I parked outside of my apartment for less than 10 minutes to grab an inhaler from inside my home. Came out and saw "Shawn" beginning to tow my car. I screamed, "please no, I'm here" and proceeded to get into my car and he started the towing process with me in my car! They were re-paving the parking lot at my aptmt complex and mgmt had clearly outlined an area that would not be worked on. I parked my car there last week and left it, since I don't use my car often. When I came home from work last night, my car was gone and that area had been paved. Cue panic attack. We found the number for Titan Towing and left them a voice mail. My roommate said he thought he saw my car in a different spot, so maybe they moved it instead of towing? I figured it was b.s., but I went out in search of it anyway. To my extreme surprise, I found my car moved to the other side of the lot! My boyfriend called Titan back to tell them to disregard our message, and Patrick remembered my car. He said there were only 6 cars and he didn't feel right towing them b/c management hadn't been clear about the work area, so he just moved them. He then proceeded to apologize for not being able to back my car into its new spot perfectly. I was blown away, he could've taken my car and charged me a stupid amount for it - that's what I expected to happen, but this was incredible.
