Didn't eat any more and was told he couldn't get a refund or a discount because there "wasn't anything wrong" with his food. My food was burnt and tasted like microwave food from the grocery store. this is a hidden gem in Sweetwater. I have the chicken enchiladas with sour cream I put my sour cream on the side and drizzled it over my enchiladas I had a small cheese and pico put that over them I also loved there fresh beans and rice seasoned perfectly all the chips were warm and salsa was nice. waitress is really nice and it's a family atmosphere this is a must have if your craving real Mexican food DELICIOUS!!! read more

Yesterday, we were looking for a place to eat that wasnt fast food and stumbled across Tita's...are we ever glad we did! Our waitress was a younger girl, very sweet and helpful, bringing our drinks and chips, almost before we had our menus open. I ordered the La Puebla plate, my companion had a chimichanga. Food came out quickly and was cooked perfectly. Beans and rice are authentic, the ground meat is seasoned, the tostada shells are crispy, the cheese enchiladas are sized correctly with an amazing red sauce and for goodness sakes, when she tells you to have the Apple Chimi for dessert...believe her! Its light and flakey, cinnamon and sugary with a glaze and whipped cream to die for...a lovely dessert to finish a meal. We ate there again today and received the same amazing service, there were a couple of boys helping as well and they were all 3 like a well oiled machine, constantly checking on us and making sure we were taking care of. There was a slight mix up w my plate, it was promptly fixed w a whole new plate made and delivered with a smile. We had a "favorite" Mexican place to eat prior to this (they were closed due to an emergency...understandably) but from now on we will eat at Tita's. read more

Very good Mexican food for a little ma and pa family run eatery. Our family had the combo plates, quesadillas and taco salads. The seasoned beef was very good and most everything comes with s cream and guac. The house salsa is pretty mild. The frijoles were average. I did not try the rice. The unsweetened iced tea was also very good. Very friendly people too! This little place is housed in a very old building in the old part of Sweetwater so the place looks run down. Do not let that stop you from going in and having a very good "homemade" tasting, reasonably priced lunch or dinner. read more

We stopped and dined at this place after reading reviews from fellow yelpers. It is definitely a hole in the wall place which was good for my standards. What wasn't great was the service and food. Maybe it was because we got there about 30 minutes before closing but whatever the case service was subpar. We started with the complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa appeared homemade but closely resembles a store bought salsa at the same time. We then ordered a large order of guacamole and since it was a mom and pop place, I was hoping to get some fresh made...unfortunately it was 2 regular sized ice cream scoops of guacamole which was probably made in the last 24 hours. Moving on to the food, it came out really hot and appeared "fresh". After digging in, the taste was very close to store bought ingredients so nothing fancy. So, I'd say if you're looking to support local food places, you won't go wrong here. Just probably not too memorable. read more

I ordered what was listed as the small portion of 'Beef or Chicken Fajita' nachos. Apparently that 'fajita' nomenclature only applies to the chicken. I received ground beef. I could have made a tastier small plate of nachos at my house. The six (yes, six) normal sized tortilla chips on my plate contained ground beef, cheese, jalapenos, and a small lettuce and tomato salad. What was noticeably absent was the beans that the waiter asked if I wanted on the nachos. I usually walk away from a Mexican restaurant feeling impregnated with a food baby. I had the Poblana plate- cheese enchiladas, a bean chalupa, and rice & beans. Yum! He had the Potosino combo plate with two chicken enchiladas and soft cheese taco. This was a real treat! While passing through, we were lucky enough to find this quaint little jewel of a cafe right downtown. It's a great hole-in-the-wall that makes much, much better than average Mexican fare, which is saying a lot in this part of the country. The prices are great and portions plentiful, even the kids meals. I loved the chips and salsa, with each person getting their own little salsa cup (so I could double dip!). My enchiladas were piping hot, oozing cheese and chili con carne all over the beans and rice. Service was super fast, and although not everything came out at the same time, we didn't care. I'm really not sure why this place has gotten good reviews. The place seemed dirty. My daughter could not eat her chicken on her taco salad because it was rubbery, like it was out of a can. I ordered large nachos and got exactly 12 chips with cheese and cubed chicken. I added guacamole (additional charge) and was brought a TABLESPOON of guacamole that tasted like a mix.
