They have redone the interior and it looks great. Sometimes the a/c can't keep up with the amount of people. My favorite meal is the mushroom chicken, mashed pots, and Mac and cheese. This was some of the best food ive ever had on the drive from lubbock to houston. I went with my mom and dad and they loved it as well. The whole staff was super nice, and our waiter, caleb/kaleb, was super cool and super attentive. I wish i had gotten the names of the other staff members because they were so great as well. We chose to eat here because it was within walking distance of the hotel we were staying at. This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food was delicious and the service was good. Thre were a lot of people waiting when we arrived, but it didn't take long to get a table. The only thing I didn't like was that it was a cold night and they didn't have any hot tea, and the green beans were too peppery for my taste. The vegetable chicken was tender, juicy, and nicely seasoned. My hubby had the fried seafood and was equally pleased. Passing through on a road trip. This place is not for looks, it definitely needs a facelift inside and out, non paved parking means people park how they want. Definitely a small town restaurant with great food and friendly service. I had the green chili burger and onion rings. The burger was juicy and flavorful, onion rings were hand battered. We ate here before a football playoff game. We arrived at 11:00 when they opened. Our group of 7 were seated promptly. The wait staff was quick to take our drink order. After we ordered our food it came in about 15 minutes. I had a burger and onion rings. Both were delicious. Others had steak fingers, chicken fried steak, fried fish etc.. Everything was really good. When we lived in Sweetwater 20+ years ago, skeets was a go to spot for dinners after softball/tee ball/little league practice.back then his location was on the north side in a converted house. Back then we all had go to items on the menu. SouthernStyle Fish, the Santa Fe burger. We always ate them like ther was no tomorrow. Now its 2023. Skeets is out on the Interstate, larger building constructed just for them. I stopped there for dinner on the way through recently. Out of a painfully acute sense of nostalgia I ordered the Southern Style Fish again. Fish filet drenched in cornbread batter and deep fried, with spicy cole slaw and a baked potato. Fully loaded. It'll use up your daily and a chunk of your weekly Weight Watchers points, but, goddamn, it's worth it. It's just as sinfully good as it was in 1989 after a big tee ball game. You can't stop. I mean literally, you cannot frigging stop. The fish (not sure if it's catfish or cod) was perfectly breaded and the breading is killer good. Stupid good. The potato was still smoking when I got it. The slaw was a bit of a disappointment, but who the hell cares. The only drawback was that they were completely and totally slammed, and the wait staff was hard pressed to refill tea and bring the check. I'm afraid to go again for fear of disappointment. And, considering the time ,and circumstances, I probably won't. But Skeets was a good and tasty deal 20-30 years ago. And it holds true today. read more

I live in Las Vegas. 12 years ago I ate a steak here and it was the best steak I've ever had. Was so flavorful and melted in your mouth. I tried eating here in 2020, but unfortunately they were already temporarily closed because of the pandemic. Currently on a road trip from Las Vegas to Woodward,OK. Drove 5 hours out of the way JUST TO EAT HERE. I was really nervous because it's been so long, didn't know if it was going to be as good as I remembered it. IT WAS STILL AS GOOD AS I REMEMBERED IT. Juicy, tender and full of flavor. I can't not wait to come back through on our way home. The staff is nice and friendly, and welcoming. The building itself could use some upgrades, especially the bathroom. But the restaurant was clean and tables were cleared and reset rather quickly. :) read more
