Pretty descent Mexican food. Off that is not your taste they offer a gringo side. I ordered beef enchiladas with a side of homage tortillas. The chips and salsa were ok, while salsa has a kick to it the flavor was a little bland. Others in my party got the fajitas, which they were a little disappointed in the flavor. waited over an hour on Father's Day with no one in the restaurant but the family of the owner. they kept serving them and telling me it'll be another 15 minutes as I waited for over an hour to the point where I was going to get a refund. serving beer at 10am and ignoring someone who is supporting your local family owned business and has been since the previous location. very sad. We frequent Lupitas and the service is usually good and the food is almost always excellent. The food was good tonight once we finally got our food, we literally waited an hour and a half for a Jonathan plate that came with a bell pepper instead of the Chili Relleno we were supposed to get and Beef Fajitas. We had requested a to go order of enchiladas that the waitress brought out with our meal instead of placing the order when we got our food. The waitress didn't offer any apologies and we weren't offered any adjustment on the bill for our major inconvenience. We have never had to wait an hour and a half for a meal even a well done steak. Service. Google reviews gave this place a high rating so I was excited to try it out. Sadly, as I was waiting to order I opened my Yelp app to find much lower reviews for service and poor food quality. I do not like bad reviews but when you don't get your food after an hour there is something really wrong. People who walked in after me were being fed before me so that didn't make me feel welcomed. They brought out chips and salsa and 15 minutes later asked if wanted a drink. Ordered coffee and creamer. Coffee too some time to get so just wrote it off as fresh brew. No creamer but waitress asked if I would like some and I said yes. Sadly, she was just asking if I would like some but didn't bring any so I drank it black. Never got a refill but they were ready to give me more salsa. A bit of advice...if you know the food is going to take a long time, let the customer know. I am a fan of fresh but an hour to make a chili relleno is just too long. If you have to blister the chili and have hen lay an egg to raise a chicken to then butcher the chicken then let me know. I would have asked what items are faster to prepare. I get it...1 person trying to wait tables and cash customers out is a lot but not a reason for me to tip more or a reason to just not have good customer service skill. I am sure if I was a local my experience would have been different. Or I would know food is good and worth the wait. Never going to make it out here again. read more

If you are driving down I20 looking for a great place to eat, this is it. We discovered this place by accident driving from Fort Worth to Midland. It has become our standard stop on this route. It only adds about 5 minutes to your drive but is well worth it! Food is Tex-Mex but home made by a staff who cares. There's a menu but feel free to ask for your own special. Menudo on weekends is amazing. Also, they are happy to sell you their home made salsa or tortillas to take with you. But they'll ask you to give them a 10-minute heads up so they can make your tortillas. This is a Guy Fieri DDD kinda place! read more

This place is one of our absolute favorite places. It is a family owned restaurant and it's very mom and Pope. If you're looking for the quickest service and be in and out in less than 30 minutes, this is probably not for you. The food is cooked to order. The hot sauce is great and there is a habanero option as well if you ask for it. They have catered for us before, and it was even amazing. The only thing that we have found that we didn't like was the store-bought tortillas. We have had everything from the taco salads, burgers, American food, brand, special, fajitas, etc. We probably tried everything on the menu at least once. I love the fajita taco salad, that thing is massive. Their prices are good compared to the quality and amount of food. If I had anything to complain about, it would be that in the summertime it is warm in the restaurant. They serve keto friendly. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also serve alcohol now. read more

Lucky for us we found this little gem by chance on a roadtrip. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed and the service is incredibly friendly. Our fajitas were delicious with lots of caramelized onions and fresh tomatoes and lettuce. read more

I am commenting on Ms. Lupita's (the woman it is named for). I have never been to this establishment before. I definitely will go again. It is a small town of Sweetwater Texas, and she was so very very friendly. So you've got a take a little and give a little. I should definitely warn you. It is an older building very friendly. The family is very friendly. If it's family owned. I'm not sure. I think her daughter and her work there. And the food was very good. No, it is not the best, but I've ever tasted, but they darn sure have some good food. So don't get your hopes up going in there thing you're gonna have a five star meal. I would very much recommend this and nothing I'm getting too worried because you always cost me down so I am quitting. read more

We went to eat here specifically because it got great reviews, but honestly the food was not good at all. The salsa and chips were honestly the best part and were actually really good. The food was super salty and out of our big party maybe only 2 people didn't complain but then again they ordered the flautas. The red enchiladas were horrible and the red sauce tasted like hotdog chili. My daughter ordered the shrimp plate but some of her "shrimp" were actually pieces of chicken. The a/c does work great and the owners daughter (maybe 3-4yo) just runs around the place and yells orders to her mom like "mom bring me my tablet" or "mom bring me my sprite" Honestly, the only good thing about eating here are the homemade French fries and the chips and salsa. Great service and the food was delicious. You could tell everything was made to order and fresh..no canned refried beans used here! Very authentic and the salsa is delicious with a slight heat to it. This is my second time eating here. Once for breakfast and now for dinner. What a great hidden gem. I have to say I am a picky person when it comes to food and to enjoy Lupita's food says a lot. There open 7 days a week and all there food is made to order. Fresh is the best. I look forward to eating here several days a week. Your money is well spent here. It took forever to get a refill and the service sucks and it takes forever for you to get your food we were sitting at the table for 50 minutes before we got are 1st plate and she brought out the food one by one and our server would not serve us lunch 5 till lunch because it was still breakfast DONT EVER COME HERE IT SUCKS!!!! read more

Salsa seemed salty. Chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce, ok but also too salty. Tasted mostly like sour cream. Cheese was shredded cheese put on top and melted. Chicken chili relleno was good. Service could've been better. Only Mexican food restaurant open on Sunday night. read more

The place is small and off the beaten path but the food is great. The verde beef enchiladas, the rolled tacos, and rice were excellent. Everything is made fresh in the kitchen, the tastes and textures of the food gave me the feeling of grandmas home cooking. The building is in the older part of town and is easy to miss, parking is on a small graveled lot, and the entrance isn't obvious as it's on the side of the building instead of streetside. When I stepped inside I was pleasantly surprised with the decor. Inside it was charmingly decorated with items traditional to the Hispanic culture and I was greeted with a genuinely friendly welcome. The owner was helpful in providing information about a nearby lake that I wanted to check out. Overall, this was a very pleasant adventure to my journey and well worth getting away from the beaten path. I would go back next time through Sweetwater. read more
