Inflexible Policies That Prioritize Revenue Over Members…read more I am an unlimited member at Club Pilates Novi and I deeply regret joining. The policies here are anything but customer-friendly, and I want others to think twice before signing up. One of the most frustrating aspects is that none of these policies are clearly disclosed at the time of sign-up. You only discover them later -- often when it is too late and you are already locked into a membership. This lack of transparency at the outset is, in my opinion, the biggest red flag of all. To start with what you will eventually find out: classes fill up so quickly that unless you book at least a week in advance, you end up on a waitlist -- which defeats the purpose of being an unlimited member. On top of that, if you need to cancel within 24 hours, they charge you a $15 fee with no exceptions. My biggest frustration, however, stems from what happened after I suffered a shoulder injury. I placed my account on hold while I recovered. Just two days later, I gave my 30-day cancellation notice, only to be told that members cannot submit a cancellation notice while their account is on hold. This policy makes absolutely no sense. Because of this rule, I was forced to pay an additional ~$250 before I was even allowed to cancel my membership. To make matters worse, the studio claimed they had sent me an email about this policy -- but they had the wrong email address on file, so I never received it. Being held responsible for a communication that was never delivered to me is completely unacceptable. I understand that businesses need policies, but these rules feel designed to trap members and collect fees rather than support them. Had any of this been communicated upfront, I would never have signed up. Please do your research and ask detailed questions before committing to a membership here.

There are options to workout on your own as well. I'm over 50. While most members are far younger, if I can do it then you can too. The staff and instructors are very friendly and helpful. Newcomers are always welcome. No reason to be shy. If you put in the effort your body will thank you for it.

My wife and I both booked a 5:45am class through Class Pass on a Tuesday morning. The class was about 1/2 full. The staff was very friendly and recognized us as first-time guests right when we arrived! They even personalized our free lockers with our names. We got a tour of the building and we're shown how to clip in to the bike, adjust the bike, and what weights were available at our bikes. The personalization and hospitality is absolutely 10/10 from this location. The space is small, but it never felt crowded. It's a bit cold in there, but you warm up eventually. The music was rocking, our instructor Nicole was very motivating, and the workout was intense! I was very impressed with my experience and will likely return for another awesome workout. I'm curious about how fast classes fill up in the afternoon/night though since this is such a great location.

My husband and I visited Cyclebar for the first time this morning through ClassPass. If it is your first time visiting, the front desk team member greets you, shows you around, and helps you get adjusted to your bike. The instructor also came by to introduce herself, which was really nice! Cyclebar has free shoes that you can borrow (or you can bring your own), and plenty of locker space for every person. I believe there were a total of 42 bikes in the studio, and I think it says a lot when probably 75% of them were full at 5:45 am a couple days after Christmas! The instructor, Nicole, was an amazing instructor. She gave you instructions for what speed and heaviness your bike should be at, but never pressured anyone! At the very end, she showed the leaderboard so you could see where you were at compared to the rest of the class (note: you can opt out of being on the leaderboard when you check in), which gave me a lot of motivation at the end! Overall, this was a really great workout! You could make it easier or harder based on your skill level and how hard you wanted to push yourself that day. I'd highly recommend giving Cyclebar a try)

I have to say I was skeptical because its only 30 min and I'm used to working out for 1.5 hours which was difficult to fit into my schedule on a regular basis so it often got sidelined. Boy was I wrong 6 weeks later and I'm feeling better then I have in years and seeing faster results then I was in the gym! This is truly a judgment free-zone everyone is so nice and the trainers are always willing answer any questions and there to help you as well as push you when you need it. I bought a 13 month membership and I can't wait to see how I'm looking and feeling by then! If your on the fence just do it, your worth it!

In my short period at Motiv8 I lost 1.8lbs, but more importantly I LOST 1.2% OF BODY FAT!
