I do not like working out. Like at all. In any way. BUT, TITLE Boxing Club showed me a workout that I was absolutely shocked to say I enjoyed. In fact, I think it's the only workout I would actually willingly and almost joyfully subject myself to. I first got to have a full hour long boxing workout via a Yelp event. At the event they offered a coupon for a free week of classes. Knowing I shouldn't pass up an opportunity for a free workout, I decided to go all in. I went every single day in the early morning for seven days in a row. At first the early hours and hard workout were brutal, but when it was over, I was genuinely sad to not be going back the next day. All of the trainers were excellent and helpful with their training and advice, that most people in their classes don't usually need. Probably the saddest part is that I can't currently afford the actual membership. It's something like $59/month for a once a week class. It just feels a bit excessive. Some gyms charge $90/month for unlimited classes and access to all facilities. Maybe one day i'll be able to swing it, but for now, I will just keep my memories of the great workouts and the feeling of accomplishment! read more

Incredible place to learn to box. I had no background or experience in boxing or kickboxing. When I first tried their free class, I was amazed with the motivation they encouraged, the friendliness of their staff, and their excitement to work with you. The trainers I experienced were Mike, Shawn, and Will. They were all incredible and motivated the class in different ways. I 100% recommend all three of them. While I didn't attend a class with Jason, he was always happy to help with putting on the wraps and gloves, and improving techniques. This is definitely the place to be at. read more

Sundays were advertised for regular boxing, but always a surprise and turned out to be kickboxing. I signed-up for the classes to teach myself self-defense. I am a domestic violence survivor. I wanted to also find a way to learn how to hollow and be fast on my feet. Ironically the newest Creed movie was released the same time I was enrolled. I would go from one gym to the next participating in a sober gym club experience. I recommend Title Boxing Club and a membership to Genesis. Genesis has a weighted bag at all locations for freestyle practice and a treadmill close by. Fireworks and dancing anytime the gym is open. read more

The class that I attended was AMAZING!! The trainer and staff were very helpful, full of energy and friendly. I honestly didn't know what to expect since it was my first time trying out a boxing class. I've been doing Title Boxing for almost a year, and I love it! It's very easy to tailor the workout to what you're looking for or for your ability level. Regardless of skill level, this is an amazing workout - it's always difficult and fun! I got my dad to sign up too, and he also loves it. The trainers here are awesome, and they care enough to help you with your form and technique. The owner is very nice and knows members by name. Both the owner and the trainers remember enough about me to ask how my classes and semester are going and are great about asking about other things going on in members' lives. Ultimately, this is a difficult workout, but it's fun and I recommend it to everyone who asks me about it. read more

Horrible Horrible management. They just force you to take 1 year membership whether you like it or not. If you ask for time to decide they insult you and treat you like shit. This is was my personal experience at 119th title kick boxing. When I went for my free shot, one girl sprained her leg and fell down. They just took her away and told us she was just over reacting by crying..!!! How rude..who are they to judge her pain??? This was a great work out, but poor customer service. I was in Kansas for the summer only and made this clear to the Managers at the desk that I would be paying monthly and would have to cancel my membership before August. They said that it would not be a problem and to give them a 30 day notice of when I needed to cancel. On my last payment in June when I handed in a check to cover the month of July. At this time the Manager asked if I wanted to sign up for a year contract. I told the managers that this would be my last payment since I was leaving Kansas to return home. I was charged membership fees for the month of July and August. When I called on 9/2 to speak to the Owner to ask why I was still being charged, he said that I never filled out the cancellation paperwork. I told him that his employees never gave me any paperwork to fill out when I gave them my notice. The owner did not take responsibility for his employees and said that there was nothing he could do. This is unacceptable customer service. I was never informed that there would be paperwork to cancel, only that I needed to give a notice. And when I gave my notice no paperwork was given to me. Title Boxing is not customer friendly. read more

This is a great place. You can go full tilt or just hang back a bit and box your own pace. Sure some peer pressure to kill yourself but the owners and trainers understand not everyone is 21 with perfect knees. I wish I went more often. read more

I really enjoyed the lessons and going to the classes. Trainers were nice and supportive. The problem is within the management and membership system. Even when I showed proof of address change, I had to pay a large fee to cancel my membership, which they told me I would not have to do. They told me this was because of circumstances on the account, and that is was my fault for all this miscommunication that had occurred. There is too much miscommunication and difficulty with the membership, even when I explained that I only wanted to be there for the summer, because I am a student. I do not believe the membership was worth it with all the difficulty that had to go in canceling the account, plus the fact that I had to pay a fee when I was told I would not have to. read more

Great workout. I like that you can tailor the difficulty to suit your fitness level as you develop. I've been going to this location for about 6 months and I now box about 4 times a week. All of the instructors are great. Dusty in particular is my favorite - he knows his stuff and keeps class fun and interesting. I've recently started taking Bilal's kickboxing over lunch and like his style too. I've lost weight and improved my strength and stamina. I after the improvement brought about by regular attendance - I can enjoy roller skating again (which I had thought might be a thing of the past following an achilles tendon rupture 2 years ago). read more

I called and spoke to cameron whom I spoke to all I wanted was two weeks it was 50 dollars but Cameron you can get a whole month for 70 I agree I told him I don't want anymore after that month. I reluctantly signed the contract low and behold the next month comes I call tell them I don't want to go there anymore they say you should have given us 30 day notice when I signed up I only wanted the month they told me my account is in deliquincy so i have to pay for next month although I only wanted one month and thats if they let me cancel WHAT A BUNCH OF CROOKS!!! read more

I enjoyed the couple times I was able to go. Unfortunately, my schedule changed and I wasn't able to continue going to classes. I tried to cancel my membership and thought it was because I was not contacted afterwards or billed for a couple months. I noticed I was billed for the past three months, after not being billed for two months. I contacted the site where I joined and was told there was no way to get my money back for those three months due to a "no refund" policy. It didn't sound right or fair. They said they will change my membership to monthly, after initially requesting to cancel it 5 months ago, and then canceling my membership. I don't understand why they didn't to this months ago! read more

I tried coming by your club at 12:30, knowing that your club closes at 1 on Sundays. There is a sign on your door that shows your hours, stating 1 on Sunday as the closing time. When I showed up, your light up sign even said "open" but every single person was gone and doors were locked. Since I've been a Title member for 4+ years, I understand that the club starts to clear out once the last class is over - especially on weekends. But this is entirely misleading to customers. I would recommend changing your hours of operation if the current hours you give aren't accurate. read more

As an amendment to my review from a few weeks ago. I appreciate the sincere efforts made by Title Boxing staff: Thank you to you and the staff at Title Boxing Club. I was finally given the answers I was looking for and things were cleared up for me as a consumer. After speaking with Aaron, my outlook with Title Boxing has a positive spin. I would like to share with others considering this fitness organization what Title has done to fix this situation: Aaron explained to me that ASF is not affiliated directly with Title Boxing, they are simply the "ones who process the payments". Aaron was truly interested in finding out what was wrong with my situation and what he could do to right things, this greatly impressed me. It was refreshing to finally be spoken to like a person rather than an annoyance. As it turns out, I will continue to recommend Title Boxing to those that I know. ASF is the company that continues holds the issue, which is rather unfortunate for Title Boxing. I think the workouts at this gym are great. However, there are certain business practices that make this one of the worst gyms you can join. When they tell you that there are no cancellation fees, what they mean is that there is absolutely no getting out of your 1 year contract so therefore no cancellation fees. Which gets me to this, a one year contract for a gym is a bad business practice. I moved 20 miles away and could not go to the gym. One of their staff rudely told me that I should have planned better and that I signed the contract. While this is true, a gym that forces people to pay for products that they can no longer use is not worthy of your money or mine. A third item is their cancellation policy. In this world of instant, digital communication they force you to come in to cancel and have a policy in which you must cancel 30 days in advance. There is no reason to make people come out of their way to cancel when a membership cancellation request could just as easily be done via internet, fax, or phone. It just reaks of a company who greedily sets up their policies to bilk as much money from the people as possible. When trying to work with the Gym, the fact that I had signed a contract was waved in my face again and again. It was specifically stressed that this contract would hold up in court and that there was nothing I could do about it. Overall, while the workouts are fun, Title Boxing Club's predatory business model is not really worth the hassel. read more

I've been going to title for about 3 months. In that time the trainers have been phenomenal. They have been supportive and motivating. They have encouraged me to change other aspects of my life as well. I am now eating healthy and working out on a regular basis I have dropped 20lbs. Signing up with title is one of the smartest decisions I have made it the time I have lived in overland park! I would recommend to anyone. read more

I really enjoy working out here. I can easily modify the workout to low impact to keep up with the class.

This is literally the hardest, most fun work-out that I have ever done. I don't have a great exercise history and I am not a workout-fiend, but I might be able to get addicted to this. After my first few workouts, I can tell this is going to be effective. I've tried a few different locations and a few different trainers, they have their own style and they work different parts of your body. I was afraid that I would get bored with the same workout, but it really does change from trainer to trainer and location to location. I absolutely love this!! read more

I had my first class there and Dusty greeted me and helped me put on my handwraps. He didn't cover my knuckles. I asked if that was correct and he said it was good. I ended the class with bloody knuckles, and it's been 3 weeks and they are still healing. Turns out he did my wraps incorrectly. Also, the music was way too loud and it smelt bad. But besides that, I love Title Boxing work outs and will continue to visit OTHER clubs besides this one and wrap my own hands! read more

I was told before I signed the 12 month contract that there would be a 7:00PM class which is the only time I can do with my work schedule. Being told this by Jason I signed and was super excited to start. No longer then a month later the class was cancelled due to not enough boxers. I was very upset not to mention I was guaranteed one free one on one training session which consisted of Jason throwing me into a boxing class full of people. I don't consider that one on one but whatever I took his word and he lied. I then went in to talk to Jason about how I felt betrayed because he lied to me about the 7:00pm class. He asked what he could do for me and I said put me through a workout right here right now. As he put me through a weak workout he began laughing at me. I'm not the most coordinated when it comes to boxing and footwork but come on dude how do you expect to run a business if you are going to laugh at your clients. I got mad and told him not to worry about the workout and I went and took the class instead in the other room. I then started going to 87th street because they offered the 7:00pm class. At the end of December they are canceling this class. So I decided that since Jason gave me his word and said there would be a 7:00pm class that he would let me out of the contract worry and money free. Wrong! He told me I owe $250. Really! How ethical is this. I love the workouts and the trainers but the owner and his son don't give a darn about the customers. They are nothing but money hungry and this business they have going isn't going to last without customer service. My advice if you go to title do not go to 119th. They will do you dirty. read more

I like to think of the managment at Title Boxing like a fascist dictatorship. In the land of the buff and the tan, you are lured in by a (false) charm that diminishes immediately when you decide the program isn't for you. In short, canceling my month to month plan proved to be rather hellish. I was charged an additional month and was repeatedly talked down to by the management, as if I was doing a disservice to them. I had to call multiple times to get in touch with someone and when I did, I was never told the full details of the "cancellation process". Having said that, the workout itself is good and the trainers are very nice, yet ultimately boxing wasn't the right fit for me. Also, boxing and kickboxing classes are offered at other full gyms that have more amenities and other types of classes, for a cheaper price. If boxing really interests you, I would recommend going somewhere cheaper that also offers loads of different, classes, equipment, pools, locker rooms, steam rooms etc. I also have to say that there were multiple instances when I felt uncomfortable with the male workers. I noticed them giving special attention to young women or looking at them in a way that felt inappropriate. Don't be lured in by "special, cheaper contracts" or false promises. read more

So my friend and I signed up at Title Boxing doing a month-to-month contract. The manager was really nice and was willing to help us out-- we thought we really scored with this place. However, as we no longer were able to go anymore, trying to cancel our membership was the worst experience I have ever had at an establishment. My friend and I were never explained their rules about canceling, we were only told that we had to fill out a cancellation form and then we would be good. So, we filled out a form before our next billing date. But, it didn't go that way at all. They were extremely rude to us and treated us as if we were naive children, acting as if the whole thing was our fault. We were screwed over and forced to pay for another month, even though I was going out of the state. I would never go back there and not recommend that place to any of my friends.
