So glad to discover this gem while visiting Catskill! I…read morestopped in on a Saturday afternoon and the food on the buffet line looked and smelled incredible. There were so many options, including goat, oxtail, pigs feet and more popular proteins like pernil, chicken and beef. My fiance and I decided to share a large plate and I'm so glad we decided to share because the portion was HUGE!! We got yellow rice, black beans, stewed chicken, pernil and maduros all piled high on a plate. We also got a bottle of water and a tamarind Jarritos soda. They had a ton of different bottled beverages and a few desserts options too. They also have many made to order menu items, including Mofongo. The food was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor. Everything was cooked to perfection. We also loved their housemade jalapeno hot sauce. The staff was friendly and there were a few tables if you prefer to dine in. I can't recommend Angel's enough!

And just to be clear, when I say Spanish food, I'm not talking about Mexican food. The pernil was decent. I liked that the meat was tender and had good flavor, but I felt like it could have used a little more seasoning overall. The skin wasn't as crispy as I would have liked, and unfortunately, it kept getting stuck in my teeth. The arroz con gandules was alright--nothing that really stood out. The chicken stew, however, was great! The meat was so tender that it practically fell right off the bone.

I thought to make it easier, we would just point to what looked good and he could charge us whatever but after a minute or two, he went to the back kitchen and an older gentleman came out who did speak English. He told us that we had a choice of three rice and a meat selection. So I went with oxtail and he went steak. We both got the yellow rice. You also get a choice of beans on top of the rice. I opted for no beans. I thought the portion size was good (lots of rice). Oxtail was fine but not fall-off-the-bone good. I would have liked more sauce. The steak was also fine and had a distinctive spice which we could not figure out. We ate outside on the picnic table. There is not much seating inside. After finishing our meal, I went to use the restroom. The toilet was not nailed down so when you sit, there is a loud sound as it hits the floor. There was also no toilet paper or paper towels. I guess I could have asked but then I would have to encounter the language issue again. Luckily I had extra napkins in my purse!

REALLY A TEASPOON Service: ATROCIOUS!!!! The woman behind the counter is very RUDE, EXTREMELY UNPLEASANT. I asked this person for a menu, no menu, and I looked on my phone for the menu and prices. the prices of the food were different. Then she started quoting me prices. Different as well. There also was another woman sitting at the table, a worker. The woman who was attending me was angry with her. The plate of food was very small. For $18.00 I asked this person if there was a charge to use a card. Her answer was yes. This charge is not posted anywhere. NEW YORK STATE LAW READS: Businesses are not allowed to advertise a price and add a surcharge at the point of sale when a consumer elects to pay with a credit card. Instead, businesses are required to inform consumers of the higher credit card price for a product or service by posting the higher price. Ambiance: HEAVY with NEGATIVITY UNPLEASANT I will never return.....

Inside was nice with plenty of seating for groups and AC to keep you cool on hot summer days. Acoustics were great we were able to enjoy our conversation without having to yell over loud music. Bathrooms were clean with a touch of Puerto Rico as ambient coquí frogs sing in the background. The staff were amazing, friendly attentive and helpful. Our waitress was top notch took care of our coffee and food orders with a smile on a rainy cloudy day. Ordered the Coquito latte, delicious- paired with the sweet and spicy chicken and Coquito batter waffle!! Wow the flavor was great didn't even need syrup. Loved the contrast of sweet and salty. Great portion sizes for the price. My wife got the Coquito French toast with scrambled eggs hash brown potatoes and bacon served on a charcuterie board. Eggs were fluffy and delicious the French toast was soft and buttery.

The inside of the restaurant is decently sized, clean, and even has a space where you can host a DJ, which is a nice touch. There was a slight language barrier, but it wasn't a big issue. I waited about 5-10 minutes for my to-go order since the hostess/server was the only one working outside of the kitchen staff. I ordered the MOFONGO MIXTO (Mixed Mofongo), which is crispy green plantains mashed with garlic and olive oil, paired with chicharrón, chicken, or cheese. It was solid--rich, tasty, and especially delicious with the salsa blanco, which was creamy and garlicky. That sauce was a first for me, and I loved it! While I've had mofongo that included rice and beans elsewhere, this version stood on its own nicely. A couple of notes: parking is a bit challenging, and I'd recommend placing your order through an app to help navigate any potential language barriers. Overall, a good experience, and I'd definitely give it another shot!

It is a family run establishment and having just opened, the place is super clean and super modern. There is a good amount of seating, so they can accommodate a large group easily. They are open late and on certain days, they have a DJ and the place turns into a club. The food was extremely fresh and is home cooked style. The chivo guisado was extremely juicy and the meat was so tender - falling off the bone. The pico pollo was great too and very well seasoned. Portions sizes were generous with very reasonable prices too. The staff are very friendly too. It's a nice place to come and enjoy some authentic Dominican food with some bottles of Presidente or cocktails. I recommend giving them a try. You will not be disappointed.
