But no, this place is amazing and the steamed tortillas kind of make it taste like a little burrito as the textures all become one in a really delicious way you must try. I'm told the tacos al vapor here are based on tacos de castaneda or "basket tacos" which I think I'll also check out on my trip at 'The Basket Tacos Co' in Whittier which I've heard good things about. Looking for steamed potato tacos. Came across this place and decided to try it. Small location kind of hidden. Minimal seating inside. Very nice people there and very helpful. Ordered two potato tacos, two carbs asada tacos and the carne asada nachos. The carbs asada tacos were seasoned well, the steam potato tacos hit the spot and the bachos were build right with ingredients on every chip. Made a special trip here just to try the tacos al vapor. Tried the beef, chicken, and potato tacos beef is definitely the way to go. I think that the steam gives the tortilla a nice soft texture and makes the tacos very hot, which is nice. The restaurant is very simple, with tables and chairs that are crowded together on the TV playing Mexican programming. Enjoyed it, but won't likely make a trip out of getting them again. read more

Piping hot from the inside, lukewarm outside, dried out tortillas....not exactly what happens when you put tacos into a steamer, but exactly what happens when you heat them up in a microwave. Came to this place based on previous reviews to try their tacos. I had the potato, beef, and bean tacos. They were doing a deal over Memorial Day weekend but 4 get 1 free so I split with a friend. The bean taco was by far my favorite, super delicious the tacos are also super soft and easy to eat. The shredded beef was also really good I would definitely order that one again! I was a little disappointed with the potato, it was just a little bland for me and I had to put a lot of hot sauce to give it flavor. I saw many reviews saying this one was the best which is why I tried it. I would give this place 4.5 stars if I could, the service was amazing and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The tacos were really good (aside from the potato). The only reason I didn't give five stars is because I don't live nearby and I wouldn't say it is worth the 40 minute drive- however if you are in the area I would most definitely be back!! read more
