A dream for a housewife is to walk into a TJ Maxx-Homegoods giant store but this place was a nightmare. Messy doesn't even describe it, stuff everywhere, hard to find anything. The service was good, I was specifically walking in to look at their press-on nails section which was an utter joke. For such a huge store their selection of press-ons was basically nothing, I didn't even take a picture of it since I was so flabbergasted. The section was right next to the registers in between the super long line of customers. Not a great way to take your time to look at items when 50 people are staring at you. The so-called press-on section was maybe a foot long & foot wide with about 7 sets to choose from. I will say the price is the same as in other TJ Maxx's. I felt like the employees and management were staring at me and it felt weird. I didn't buy anything. The whole store feels so overstimulating with so much stuff piled on-top of each other. Our family LOVES hitting up TJMAXX while on trips. (Heck, we love them at home too). I do like when the TJMAXX and HomeGoods are combined like this location. (Our local one has both in the same plaza but they are not connected and you have to walk or drive to the other... this is much more convenient.) We stayed on the TJMAXX side this trip. Although we didn't find EVERYTHING we needed (always hit or miss with finding fragrance free products), we did find a couple things we wanted. The main negative was that we felt like the workers, mainly in the checkout line, were more concerned with arranging products and moving stuff than about customers. There were like 4 employees that were barreling through, making us move. Along the same idea, the line here was so long... riddle me this, this brand of stores always have like 15 registers but only have like 3 open. This results in lengthy waits at like 99% of TJMAXX/MARSHALLS/HOMEGOODS store. Please open more registers. Makes us not want to wait when the checkout line is like 20+ deeps every time we visit. read more

Store has good stock but as others have mentioned, the line stays long. The problem is not the line, but the fact that they have 3-4 cashiers working and 10 other people walking around doing nothing. They could knock out the line then go back to standing around talking. Frustrating. read more

Just know 98% of the time the line will be long. Like stretches around the store long. Other than that they have pretty great selection year round, but especially good around the holidays. Just came in to do some Christmas shopping and had to refrain from buying "ALL the things!" The sales associates there are always very helpful. The aisles are a very tight squeeze, but there's a lot of product out because of it. So it's a give and take. They will hold an item if you need them to for a later pickup as well. I would recommend this place because they have good products. But, their lines are consistently long and winding. It can move fast though. I love this location, but management seriously needs to step up. Every time I visit, the line is wrapped around the store and they only have three cashiers working. It's ridiculous, especially given how busy this store gets. When I asked an employee why there weren't more cashiers, he mentioned that management thinks they're overstaffed, which is clearly not the case. I really like this location. It is both a TJ Maxx and a HomeGoods. As a HomeGoods, you should expect to get what you pay for with the furniture. I saw many dings and dents but nothing that was a deal breaker, especially when the furniture is as discounted as it is. We bought an awesome non-stick pans for a very lucrative price! As a TJ Maxx, this location is amazing for activewear and low priced designer clothes. I got a beautiful Rebecca Minkoff jacket originally priced $200+ for $40. My husband and I visited today to find some grey sweatpants (his idea, I swear! Hahah) and he picked up some Nike grey sweatpants for $15. He wore them as soon as he could and he loves them! Definitely check this location out if you need activewear, designer looks, housewares, and organization goods! Great customer service and a big selection! read more

I used to go here often. But, I find myself avoiding it now. It has become the worst Homegoods in San Antonio. The line to check out always stretches around the store Black Friday style, no matter what time of day you go in. Usually less than half of the registers are open. There isn't a separate line or register for returns, like at Target or even Ross. People routinely cut in the absurdly long line. And today while I waited almost an hour to make a return, I watched teenagers walk in with a Pit Bull puppy running everywhere and jumping on people- the door greeter didn't say a word. read more

TJ Maxx has a great variety of items on stock and it changes almost weekly so if you find something you like- pick it up! I like to go to TJ Maxx for bed sheet sets, duvet covers, cute kitchen items, shoes and leather purses. This location also has a great jewelry counter with all the items beautifully displayed and an associate who works in the department. You can only purchase jewelry there, but if you have more than that to purchase, they will hold it for you there. There is an attached Home Goods store for all household needs. I love to just browse through the aisles see what deals I can find. This location at the Rim is great, because there are plenty of shops on this strip mall, and plenty of parking read more

There is such fast turnover here that you can't go in with a specific item in mind. That's the bad news but also the GOOD! Soooo many great finds but it does require a quick aisle by aisle walk through. Items can sometimes be found tucked in random places that make no sense. For the holiday season, things are even more mixed up although the quantity is massive. So I was tasked with procuring a suitable swimsuit so that I could partake in the nearby resort's lazy river. Yippeee, because I just looove swimsuit shopping because it's the most fun and joyful experience ever, am I right ladies?! It ranks pretty high up there, neck and neck with stabbing myself in the eyes with dull rusty forks . . . Anyway, the selection here was pretty darn awful, at the beginning of summer too. Somehow I did manage to fish out a passable one-piece out of the plentiful two options that I victoriously unearthed. I noticed this particular store had a fair selection of OPI and Barielle nailpolishes. I managed to exercise this so-called "restraint" and ignore them. The robotically nice employees were quite cordial - yes I will have a nice day, thank you! Kidding, kidding. Let me begin by saying that I hate most clothing stores due to the lack of organization and cleanliness. This store received five stars due to the fact that everything I was looking for was in the exact place it should have been. The staff was very responsive and kept the store in very nice shape. I didn't see a single piece of clothing on the floor. My only negative, which by the way shows the popularity of this location, is the long, long, long lines on weekends and before any special holiday. TJ MAXX partnered and featured with home goods at this location has one of the best selections I have seen at any of its other branches. Because my experience was limited to the home goods side and the baby section of TJ Maxx primarily, my review will focus on those two predominately. First, the CONS: The prices are not exactly significantly marked down in my opinion. If you shop around the outlets you can actually find much better deals at the designer stores than you will here. Granted it may be because TJ Maxx does not have holiday sales or clearance events, it is nevertheless a turn off in that sense. The biggest con of this particular location is it's ridiculously long register line! Yes, LINE. that often curves multiple times inside the store before you even get to the designated line they have created. TJ and Home Goods share the same registers and often times you have to decide if what you're getting is worth the 30+ minutes of waiting you have to do. I have walked out before. The best pro in this location is the amazing selection! Now if you're like me, you'd probably find everything you don't need and scramble to find whatever it is you came for, but that is true of shopping in general. This store though does have an amazing selection that is so far unparalleled by its other branches I have been to across multiple states. The staff are also friendly but because of how busy this location is, it is almost as hard as winning a lottery trying to find someone who works there without having to ask around... read more

This store is well organized and has a nice selection of Women's Clothing, specifically office wear. It is a wonderful choice if you are looking for tops and blazers at awesome low prices. Additionally, many styles from name brand designers can be found at a fraction of the original sale price. The dressing room has an item limit, which is very obnoxious, but I suppose rules are rules. Check out has all patrons wait in one line and then are called to the next open register via an automated system. This creates a pretty quick check out process. The reason why I give 3 stars is because I've had employees a few times kneel down to try to touch my service animal and pet him at other stores. It's getting harder to find them in a location where the average customer won't throw items to the floor, so I was impressed by the cleanliness of this location. Lots of good brands at decent prices available and I was happy with the variety of sizes offered for each. I found plenty of size 26/27 pairs of denim, in my fav brands like Joe's, Paige, and Hudson. I can also usually find a cute, casual top from Theory, C&C, or James Perse. The last time I was here they had a good selection of bathing suits if you're looking for that. My favorite part of this store is that they have a lot of beauty items... From perfume to shampoo. Nice, quality skin/hair care brands at good prices. Friendly staff. The line was terrible which is an understatement, it took almost 2 hours to get to the cashier. This young lady at cashier's asked me if everything was okay to which I replied " well the line and the wait took so long that the management here doesn't respect their customers time." She said "there were 14 people who didn't show up today", however this TJMaxx at the Rim here in San Antonio is always busy especially on weekends. She said "we are the number 1 TJMaxx location here in San Antonio " if her claim is true so it doesn't mean that a good customer service is neglected because people still shop here. Whatever was her reason it was still unacceptable since the line on weekends are always long (no incentive to work weekends to motivate people to work?)and on this instance there were only 2 cashiers working not until it's about 30 minutes before the store closes. I really wanted to talk to the store manager, however I felt it not the right time to do it knowing that if I pull her aside while she was finally working on one of the registers, the customers behind me would have to wait even longer. I love this store and there are so many things that I purchase here. The womens clothing is good quality and affordable with name brands at a discounted price. I love this store as it has a home goods attached. For those that do not know what a Home Goods store is, it has all the stuff you never knew you needed for the home at pretty good prices. I have gotten everything from rugs to side tables here. I even once purchased a mirror that had a jewelry box for necklaces that you pulled out of the side and the other side had a bar to hang stuff. Now you are probably wondering why I am mentioning this, its because I really wanted one and I found it there. I also have bought quite a bit of jewelry from there. Their clearance is really good in that area. They also typically have a good selection for holiday stuff too. Just get it early as stuff seems to get broken a lot at the store. I wonder why they bother having 14 registers if they only wanted to man six out of the 14. I waited in a line that wrapped around to the back of the store and saw how the line crawled forward. Many of the other shoppers simply left the line and walked out of the store due to the size of the line and the number of open registers. A person in line asked an employee who was moving around the store about the number of registers open and the employee said, " I'm sorry that's just how TJ Maxx and Homegoods operates. This is a 3 star store; selections are excellent, prices are good but more sale/clearance items are needed in all departments. Our main concern is the men's and women's restrooms, they are a health hazard especially for children. I will not use the restroom unless it is an extreme emergency; they are always filthy (top to bottom) and stench is unbearable. Today, my husband had to use it and warned my not to use it. He said the smell was so strong, he had to get out quick. I had hoped that during the pandemic, when all shops were closed, management would have used that time to renovate or at least give these public restrooms a good scrub down with strong disinfectant, such as bleach, to kill all floating bacteria. I really enjoy TJ Maxx and sometimes I find the best things! They always have a great selection of clothing and It is more organized than other discount department stores. They have a really long checkout which can get crowded if they don't have enough people working the checkout but it's usually pretty good! They have a great selection of purses and home furnishing. I love this location! There is always a lot of staff to keep things in order... Il since it is a popular location things can get messy at times - I always actively see people picking up. The line is USUALLY not too bad (considering it is for HomeGoods also). The good news is whenever the line is past the aise there are so many people that it takes 5 minutes to get through the line. read more
