This is my neighborhood TJ Maxx and it's been around since 2007. I haven't had much reason to shop here (as a kid, I despised TJ Maxx because my mom would periodically drag me to one and I'd be bored out of my mind). Over the last 12+ years, when my mom has visited me in Atlanta, she's stopped by this store. And my significant others (past and present) have shopped here too. This TJ Maxx is located at The District at Howell Mill just off I-75 exit 252. My fiancee's carry-on roller bag broke so we came here looking for a new one. As soon as we entered the store, front and center on display were some black, 20-inch, Samsonite Pallant spinner (four-wheel) bags that I thought were ideal. She wasn't as big a fan of them as me, but I liked them. They were soft, lightweight (less than eight pounds) and expandable, had both top and side handles, and multiple pockets/compartments. The price was $79.99 each which I thought was reasonable (regularly $130, I believe). There were only two so I grabbed one while my fiancee looked around the luggage section to see if she could find anything better. She couldn't, so we got it. The only thing I didn't like about the bag was it felt a little cheap and flimsy. My well-traveled and savvy mom found a better bag online at Macy's with next-day pickup available at Lenox Square. It was a 21-inch Delsey Meteor spinner for $86.99 (regularly $250; I think they took advantage of some sale or offer or something). This model was available in different colors which my fiancee liked. She ended up choosing Midnight Blue. She did not like the boring black color of the Samsonite. Like the Samsonite bag, the Delsey bag was lightweight. However, the Delsey bag was higher in quality, from the extendable roller handle to the wheels (they were good and strong). Overall, the Delsey bag looked nicer too. We returned here the next day to return the Samsonite bag. We noticed that the other Samsonite bag had sold also. To return merchandise at TJ Maxx, you stand in the same line as if you're checking out. Service was fine, both when we purchased the bag and returned it. read more

I always like to visit T J Maxx. I like their towels and cooking accessories. I like the idea of seeing something unusual. They have different spices and healthy candies. They Also have good cookware and candles. I did get a few things from there. Always enjoy shopping there read more

Visited 11/14/21- This is by far the best TJ Max!! This location is not close to my house at all, but I was in the area running errands for work and decided to run in really quickly. Customer Service- If Customer service is important to you, please visit this TJ Maxx you will not be disappointed. The Sales Associates who were unmasked greeted me with a smile and welcomed me into the store. Offering me hand sanitizer and a lysol wipe to wipe off my buggy. There were also Associates cleaning and wipping of the shelves while adding even more merchandise. I am thoroughly impressed with how much pride the Staff took in cleaning and preparing the Store for in the increase in Customers. Merchandise- The Store is well stocked with merchandise and a variety of items to choose from. The Beauty are was well stocked and offered a variety of items and brands. The designer perfumes, I couldn't decide which to purchase. I didn't feel overwhelmed at the variety and options because the Store was clean and organized. Next time I'm in the area, I will be stopping by. read more

Any bargain shopper worth their salt knows that all TJ Maxx are not created equal. There's the good, bad and unworthy - and the selection at this location is yelpworthy. There's a large selection of discounted jeans from brands like Joe's and Paper Denim, Michael Kors handbags, shiny red Nine West patent pumps. . . The extra hours that most locations open mean that if you need a little bedtime shopping trip, TJ's there for ya. This is one of the better TJ Maxx. Its neat, and organized, well as well as a TJ Maxx can be. I always forget it even here until I'm going up or down 75S/N and see their sign. It's hidden, and if you visit the Walmart on Howell Mill, they sit atop the Walmart area. Lots of cameras, so shoplifters beware. You are being watched. read more

So I went here earlier during the day and again I can't stop going here. Each tj maxx has something different. That's probably why I can't stay away from here. Even when I'm bored I'll go just look around and see what's new or on clearance. I absolutely love the watch selections as much as I love the cookware section. I could spend a whole day going to different tj maxx stores just to see what each one has to offer that day. read more

I had an issue with a gift card from Home Goods when I went to purchase my items, and the managers of this location, Cheyenne and Anthony took FANTASTIC care of me. They handled the situation through corporate and saved my items for me until the issue was resolved. Excellent customer service and communication at this location. I like this location because it's closest to my house, but today the experience felt off. The cashier, Vicki, was quite rude. I said hello and whatnot but she seemed very uninterested in the customer experience with a less than friendly tone. I've worked customer service before, and in my opinion the most important thing is making the customer feel comfortable and happy with their purchase. I shouldn't leave an establishment with a negative mood change when I entered with a positive one. :/ read more

I have to second pretty much everything Deanna said - selection is great, it's new and clean, and it's not crowded due to it's somewhat hidden location. Just one little thing - I went at 11 on a Saturday morning and they were rearranging their stock. They were literally moving all the racks around in the middle. Doesn't seem like a big deal, until they actually move the rack that you're currently browsing through. I've been to this store a few times, and considering this was the busiest I'd ever seen it, I was quite surprised that they had chosen a Saturday morning to rearrange - isn't that what Monday nights are for? read more

Nuts and bolts: I had forgotten that there was a TJ Maxx at this location. I was in the area and decided to stop by. Pros: I was amazed by the selection compared to my area TJ Maxx. There were a TON of things on clearance. Especially bags. I couldn't believe it. I was talking to a woman who is a regular TJ Maxx shopper. She says this is one of the better locations for clothing, shoes, and bags. She says that the Perimeter one is best so I have to check that one out, too. Cons: They need to beef up their men's department a bit more. The name brand ranks are a bit disorganized. Some of them say one brand, but items from another brand were on the rack. Take home message: This will be my regular TJ Maxx. Perimeter is a bit too far for me to go on a regular basis. read more

These places always stress me out. There is only minimal organization. Things are strewn about everywhere. I give this place three stars because my girlfriend loves it. She says this location on particular has more petite things (she is 5'0", and very petite). For those that get stressed out by clutter, venture in at your own risk. read more

Most TJ Maxx stores are consistently inconsistent. Sometimes you find lots of good things, sometimes you walk out empty-handed. Except for me at this location. Aesthetically, it's not the most pleasing branch, with the harsh fluorescents throughout (including the fitting rooms -eek!) and disorganized racks. However, I have gotten more incredible deals at this location than any other. The finding of the elusive gold sandals commemorated in my earlier review had already endeared this location to me, but today I found a beautifully lined navy jacket that perfectly matches a skirt of the same brand I bought at a department store almost a year ago, completing the suit. Best part? The jacket's department store price tag was still attached ($249), but I only paid $35. read more

Great selection, and just went through a remodel on the inside which leaves their stock more organized and easier to browse. The fitting rooms were in need of an update and they did a really nice job. The prices are very good and they carry several upscale brands of purses, clothing, and shoes. Staff is friendly and their automated system for getting you through the lines is quite efficient. read more

Why is this chain of "department stores" so popular? The clothing looks like it has been hurled on the racks with no organization whatsoever. Every TJ Maxx looks like it has been hit by a tornado. Complete and utter disarray in all departments of the store. And the "home goods" section is really hideous. Garish, cheap ass statues that you would only want to decorate your space under one of the bridges of Atllanta. The clothes are of a skank, low end quality. You can do better at walmart or better yet, Target. Now i see they are opening a TJ Maxx on Ponce next to Whole Foods. What a way slum up the shopping center. For the life of me i dont know what could possibly inspire a person to "shop" at this crap store. Go to a real department store peeps and stay out of ghetto stores like this. They always have my favorite labels, Seven for all Makind, Joes, and J brand at more than half off. I love the locations that keep all the higher end stuff in one area. I was so disturbed by what I witnessed in this store today that I will never again go to this location. I've never seen the level of unprofessional management as in this particular store. First, I never even carry my purse when I go into this location because I have noticed in past trips that the store personnel tend to stalk some of it's patrons as if they are criminals looking to score stolen goods on their watch. So I always just take my cards in pocket or wallet alone. Well today when shopping, I saw the manager (fair skinned black male with curly hair) straight up harassing a borderline elderly woman as she was leaving the dressing room because she allegedly had fewer items than the number on the card she was given. She showed him her purse, her dressing room...he still stood there accusing her of trying to steal something in spite of her having nothing on her hidden from plain view. Short of an all out strip search, I'm not sure how else she could've proven she wasn't a thief. She was a much older woman and clearly embarrassed at the whole ordeal and trying desperately to prove in any way she could that she didn't do anything wrong. How about this possibility Mr. employee-of-the-month: maybe your dressing room attendant miscounted and gave her the wrong number to begin with? Mistakes happen. I was disgusted and will just make my way to Buckhead or Cumberland locations instead of dealing w/ the jackholes running the Howell Mill store. For me, this was the last straw. I've never seen such disrespectful treatment of paying customers at any other location. read more

I hate to let the cat out of the bag, but this is simply THE best place to shop in ATL. I have found amazing stuff here. Selection of designer (and haute couture!) clothes is always changing and can be found for dirt cheap, if you dig. I've found everything from Prada to Fendi to Chloe See, to Anna Sui, to Paul Smith. Freaking love it. Addicted in fact. Also, best designer jean selection in TOWN! Not crowded either. read more
