This is my neighborhood TJ Maxx and it's been around since 2007. Over the last 12+ years, when my mom has visited me in Atlanta, she's stopped by this store. And my significant others (past and present) have shopped here too. This TJ Maxx is located at The District at Howell Mill just off I-75 exit 252. My fiancee's carry-on roller bag broke so we came here looking for a new one. As soon as we entered the store, front and center on display were some black, 20-inch, Samsonite Pallant spinner (four-wheel) bags that I thought were ideal. She wasn't as big a fan of them as me, but I liked them. They were soft, lightweight (less than eight pounds) and expandable, had both top and side handles, and multiple pockets/compartments. The price was $79.99 each which I thought was reasonable (regularly $130, I believe). There were only two so I grabbed one while my fiancee looked around the luggage section to see if she could find anything better. She couldn't, so we got it. The only thing I didn't like about the bag was it felt a little cheap and flimsy. My well-traveled and savvy mom found a better bag online at Macy's with next-day pickup available at Lenox Square. It was a 21-inch Delsey Meteor spinner for $86.99 (regularly $250; I think they took advantage of some sale or offer or something). This model was available in different colors which my fiancee liked. She ended up choosing Midnight Blue. She did not like the boring black color of the Samsonite. Like the Samsonite bag, the Delsey bag was lightweight. However, the Delsey bag was higher in quality, from the extendable roller handle to the wheels (they were good and strong). Overall, the Delsey bag looked nicer too. We returned here the next day to return the Samsonite bag. We noticed that the other Samsonite bag had sold also. To return merchandise at TJ Maxx, you stand in the same line as if you're checking out. Service was fine, both when we purchased the bag and returned it.

The store is closing closing, Though the store is closing it is not in disarray. The aisles are still unkempt, though some are empty. Also, they have begun to use the empty shelves to spotlight some of the things that are in abundance. The Discounts range from 10% - 50% and even with the 10%, you can feel it in your pocket. Though I wasn't looking for anything in particular I still left with a cart full of stuff. LoL! Don't ask me how but when I saw it and it made sense, I needed it. Though the line is LONG AS LIFE, the cashier kept her cool and kept a smile on her face. The store is running on a skeleton crew, so go in with patience. LoL! In all seriousness though, the cashier was very nice and pleasant to interact with. For those who are into the Christmas season they have an abundance of items. I am talking about an entire section of Cheer! It's festive in the front left corner. LoL!!!! Now, though, I didn't need anything and planned to spend $0.00... I ended up spending $70 by accident but I got about $180 worth of stuff. With that said, there's a few things I am waiting til they get to the 50% Off Zone then I'm going back. Ha! I spent the night over a friend's house and slept in this bed like a baby. I had to ask her where she purchased this mattress. Her answer was Big Lots. I waited faithfully until they had their Black Friday sale. It actually started well before the holiday. My daughter and I made our way to the store on this day to buy beds for both of us. We got to the store and immediately found the furniture section. We had a lot of questions and the store associate was patient with us totally. It was easy to pick out which mattress we wanted because we were able to try them out at the store. Yes literally laid on the bed and rolled around until we found the one we wanted. Let me tell you I have not regretted this purchase at all since I took my bed home. Omg heaven. No complaints.

Marshalls is a retail chain offering brand-name clothing, accessories, shoes and housewares. At Marshalls, I think life's better with surprise. I went today because I have a son who is in that pre teen stage so some kids clothes ars too small and some adult items are just right. I was there and walked out with three bags of clothing for around $80 , you can't be that. You have to patient and give yourself enough time to shop, some items are not in their allocated section, but I'm glad I search and find. It's always a pleasure to shop here. I urge the Atlanta Black community to take our hard-earned money elsewhere. There are three or four other essential oil shops within a short radius that actually value their clientele. The Indian owner/manager showed his true colors with clear discriminatory and hostile energy. When I asked to see a product behind his counter and gently shook the bottle--which anyone who works with fragrance oils knows is standard practice to mix settled ingredients--he aggressively snatched it back, slammed it on the shelf, and refused to let me sample it, stating, "I'm not going to do this with you today." When I pressed him on why he was speaking to me with such hostility, he explicitly told me that my patronage was a "waste of his time" because I don't buy enough every single time I walk through the door. He literally told me, "I'd rather you never come back." I have always been completely respectful and friendly to this man. The positive reviews online are misleading; many of those people likely order online and have never walked into the Sunrise Fragrance Atlanta store to experience his toxic, discriminatory attitude firsthand. This business has capitalized off the local Black community, relying on us to fund yet another foreign owner that treats us like a Black nuisance unless we are spending massive amounts. To make matters worse, the reason I don't buy as much is because the quality of his essential oils and fragrance oils does not justify the steep prices. The oils are overpriced at nearly five times higher than the standard retail cost, and they have a thin, watery consistency that does not perform like authentic, premium essential ingredients. Those who know the essential oil market understand what I'm saying. I only buy from him as a last resort when I need to quickly prepare for a local Atlanta pop-up event and don't have time to order from my regular suppliers online. Before walking out, I told him that our Black community would see a 90% drop in his business because when you disrespect one of us, you disrespect ALL OF US. His response was a dismissive, "Yeah, whatever." When a business owner tells you to your face that you aren't worth his time, believe him. Atlanta, let's come together and stop patronizing businesses that take our money but despise our Black community. As a Black community, we all know how they feel about us, but when they become emboldened to speak out to personally tell us how they feel, then we have to shut them down and let them know where they stand.& Im sure others had this personal run in with this owner,especially is you encounter him in person.My advice is to take your business to the other nearby shops that actually deserve your time to drive downtown & money, or at least won't tell you to your face they will not serve you.
