Two Stars because their bathrooms are USUALLY clean and their bath/body/cosmetics department always has cool, new stuff. Value--I get it. inflation. I remember when some T-shirts were $2.99 or $3.99. now it's like $9.99 or $10.99 just for a T-shirt. the better bargains are in the bath/body/cosmetics department; and socks. Service was ok. waited in line for what felt like 8 tomorrows. only two cash registers open but all the cash register number lights were on. The Manager on Duty clearly saw the check-out line was already snaking around the corner and she pretended to not notice. not sure how this store works but I was always under the impression Managers also help out with check-out when needed. ‍maybe I'm naive to continue to still think this. but if that's the case and Management doesn't help out at cash wrap when the line is consistently building to check-out,... that's a horrible plan of management and good way to lose customers bc Lord knows no one wants to be standing in long line waiting for forever and 6mos to pay for their merch KNOWING there's only to cash registers open and all three are doing returns and repurchases at the very same time. great knowing and seeing the manager on site just walked up and down the cash wrap pretending to look busy and then staring at the check-out line for a few seconds and then go back to pacing. other than that, a new cash register opened and the young man who was our cashier was very kind and very thorough with his customer service! We randomly came in and it was more than expected. The store has lots of selections of items. Pretty huge. Parking was a bit hard, such a busy mall with lots of eateries. Bright, clean and quick to serve staff. If I come to eat round here again, and have a particular item I want to look for, I would definitely come to check it out. read more

Went here to buy all the Christmas gifts for the kids. Went on a weekday and it was very busy and finding an available parking spot took awhile. Inside the place was packed. All the toys we bought were noticeably more expensive than last year and these aren't the top tier made toys...they were just mid when it came to quality but ended up spending a few hundred bucks of mid tier toys. The checkout line service was moved definitely super fast despite the long lines. Overall, it was nice to have bought the toys all in one place. read more

I visited TJ Maxx at the Veranda in Concord on Saturday, 1/20/24, around 3 PM. This store had a huge selection of items such as beauty products, soaps, home decor, purses, clothing, kitchen supplies, etc. During my visit, I decided to purchase several pieces of beautiful jewelry. The price point of everything was decently affordable. The customer service was wonderful and quick. I recommend coming to this location, as it was well-stocked and offered a nice variety. read more

Your employees don't want to work! They don't want to be bothered to answer questions, your racks are a hot mess! Your selection is ok, and the prices for TJMAXX are a bit too High! Your shoe selection is mediocre, the sizes are always in the wrong isle!! Maybe bring back uniforms so your employees don't try to pretend they are shoppers and can't be bothered! It's pretty pathetic how they are the least friendliest of the shops near by! I always hear the old theme song that goes... "...Tereh toot toot tereh toot toot T.J. Maxx" whenever I enter a T.J. Maxx store. I'm not one hundred percent sure if that's how the lyrics went, but that's pretty close enough. T.J. Maxx was founded in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1976 by Bernard Cammarata with over 1,200 stores in the U.S., making it one of the largest department store chains. Along with Marshalls, its sister company, they offer discounted prices of clothing apparel, shoes, toys, kitchen, houseware, jewelries, bath and beauty products, tools, accessories and many more. With over 121 stores in California, it has the most in this state with Florida coming in second. I'm not a brand name kind-of-guy that has to have the latest fashion trend. I'm way past that stage in my life, and I go for comfort and low price now. Why pay something at full price when you can get the same product at a much cheaper price later on? At T.J. Maxx, I usually go for socks, but I've also scored some good Giants, 49ers and Warriors gears over the years. At this particular location, I've found some nice sports caps for less than $10 bucks, and these are good quality products that are often very rare. Too bad Jaime already destroyed these same caps and the only downside is they don't sell the same items again. I'm also a low-maintenance guy so I know what I want then get out as soon as I find that item. This location also has a good selection of hair and beard grooming products for cheap. And if you want high-end products, they have a nice selection of watches and jewelries that are way cheaper compared to other department stores. During the holidays, they always have specialty items that are good gift ideas or stocking stuffers. More than likely, you're gonna find something here that you don't need, but you want. But at least you're never gonna pay full price. read more

Located in The Veranda, it's a fairly new one -- about 5 years old. I can only give my MAN-POV (point of view). Drum roll: Hell, YES. It's the best discount store in the area. For TJ Maxx, I'm really interested in 3 departments of things: food, kitchen & cooking items, and home decor items. Occasionally, hair & soap items, men's clothing, men's shoes, men's cologne, jewelry (watches), and luggage. In all categories, TJ Maxx is a great store to try. The prices are absurd for items, often 33-50% off retail. More positive things to say about this location: ==================================== 1. Very clean. 2. Well-organized. 3. Even with post-pandemic manufacturing and shipping issues, it has a very good selection of things and well-stocked. 4. The store is always really dirty and the cosmetics items have the wrong pricing! They won't honor the price of an item even it is marked.

This is a good location. You have to wait in line but they are nice at the front door. They take count only allowing 92 people in the store dressing room is closed so don't count on trying stuff on. They definitely have you follow rules here compared to other TJ Maxx locations. There selection is very good for the most part no complaints. The restrooms were lean as heck. read more

I was shocked to see this real HERMES Birkin Bag in a Tj Maxx for about 64.99. Due to the location and popularity of the shopping mall this tj maxx is in they don't really have very many gems. The makeup section is always very sparse and next level destroyed. They do however have a lot of 24 inch pillows that say "Fall Babe" in cursive font. They also make up for it with the Chai Tea Candles and Rae Dunn collection dog toys . read more

This location is one of the nicest and most organized of all the TJ Maxx stores I've been to. We went on a weekend and they limit guests to 92 at a time. Since we got there early, we only waited about 5-10 minutes before being allowed in. The store was very clean and the merchandise was well organized. They had a decent amount of inventory. I've gotten used to seeing stores like Ross and Marshall's have their inventory decimated so it was nice to walk in to a well stocked place. Because the crowd was being managed, I felt like I could leisurely go about my shopping without having to maneuver around people and shopping carts. Staff were very friendly and helpful, from the entrance to check out. Fitting rooms were unavailable which is understandable but did mean I had to try stuff at home and return items I didn't like. Parking in this area is plentiful but it was fairly full by the time late afternoon came around. read more

First time here. I am besides myself to find a TJMaxx in the Veranda. TJMaxx amidst all these trendy foodie joints, deluxe theater, bookstores and amusement is like an answered prayer for me. This specific Veranda TJMaxx is an enormous store with high ceilings, clean floors, bright lighting and organized aisles of marked down merchandise. I came to find several teacher appreciation gifts and I found them on the clearance aisles. The clearance section towards the right back corner of the store was abundant and overflowing with good quality items. I'll definitely be back! read more

TJ Maxx is a store for all your needs! From home to clothes to pets, it is a one stop shop! This is a store where if I'm looking for one particular thing I end up finding so much more! A very dangerous store for shoppers! I came in recently during the thanksgiving weekend, the Christmas decor was abundant and gift sets were all out. I was browsing for Christmas things and ended up buying a holiday gift toy set for my dog, an ornament, and a tree skirt. I bought so many things here in the past from clothes to gift items to shoes on clearance. There always seems to be a long line but there's enough cashiers to speed things up. Things on the shelves could be a bit beater but it's understandable for things to be picked through. Will be back for more shopping when I'm in the area! read more

I've been here a few times now. I found a nice winter pea coat since mine needed to be updated. They have great home decor and kitchenware. TJ Maxx at the Veranda is a decent store, but for me the Clayton Road TJ Maxx edges this one out. Yes, this location is larger and a bit "fresher." However, the sales clerks provide better customer service and are friendlier at the Clayton Road location. Recently I was at the Veranda TJ Maxx to return an item. The cashier was upbeat and pleasant, but when I returned to her counter in a short while she gave no recognition that I had been there earlier. And I encountered no sales staff on the floor. When I shop at the Clayton Road location I am almost always greeted by someone. I will no doubt return to this location when I am in the area. But since I live closer to the Clayton Road store it will continue to be my "go to" location. read more

First timer, seemed to me like a swankier version of Marshalls or Ross... The dark higher end feeling when you walk in, more department store style. But really I saw the same stuff as HomeGoods and Marshalls all rolled up into one. Which is fine, I was on the hunt for an odd object that I wasn't going to find, and I had already purchase a bunch of "not on my list thingies" at HomeGoods. So nothing really jumped out at me here. They looked to have a decent selection of clothing, but today I wasn't in the mood to peruse. And the one thing I tried to look at was shopping cart blocked in the narrow isle by a intense shopper that had no intension of moving her cart over to let anyone by. So maybe next time when its not a Sunday (what was I thinking anyway) I'll stop in again. read more

I love Tjmaxx and have been a very long time customer. I never had a problem ever since but today was different. I made a return in this store stuff that I bought online. A jean short that I bought online for 10.00 clearance has a tjmaxx tag of 12.99. The tag came with it when I got it. As she was looking at my receipt she couldn't find the price 12.99 as I bought it for 10.00, she then preceded and told me that it is not an online item since it has a tag and accused me of placing that one item in that plastic bag with a different tag. I could see in her expression and could hear her tone of voice that she's accusing me of cheating. I showed her my online receipt as well with a picture of the exact same item but she was not getting it. I asked her then to call the manager as she was not doing it right and I felt discriminated and that I was racially profiled. I didn't like the way she have presumed things. She was implying that I was cheating before looking into it. I have all the pictures of the receipt and the items. I was just returning 3 out of the 15 items I bought. As a manager/ coordinator she should know how to handle these things and deal with people. It's very frustrating that this systemic racism lives across institutions and society and is evident in this store. As much as i love to shop, now I am not inclined to return at all. My 3 stars is based on inventory and organization. I know that some discount stores can be visually overwhelming, but that comes with the territory. This location is a bit more disappointing. The inventory is subpar and makes me feel like the shopper is getting the leftovers of other TJMaxx stores. TJMaxx is usually a bit more.....fashionable. I go here often with my family and i notice as a black women i get followed in the bathroom. This particular time on 11/16/21 my mother took our empty basket in the bathroom so it wouldn't get taken by another shopper because it happens so often with us. We take a long time because i have to change my baby and my mother helps her mom and such. So as we did to save our basket, an employee came in with the quickness and took it away without question so my mom asked "we don't have anything in the basket" but she insisted no baskets etc. as the time went on the rest of the family heads to the car to eat then i get in line to purchase. Long story short i came back to pee and as i did so I noticed a women carrying a reef on her left arm while washing her hands. I thought it was odd considering no items in the bathroom. I also noticed she was unbothered and looked like no one ran after her to tell her what they had told my family. She had a literal item and we had an empty basket because we didn't want it to get stolen... all im saying is, make sure all your employees watch, follow and tell everybody that no one is supposed to have things in the bathroom. I bought an item that did not have a price tag. So the salesperson asked for a price and sold it to me. When I tried to return it they said that it was not their item and it was not in the system. I could have told them to look at their camera for the day and time of the purchase to show them that this item was sold to me. But for a value of $12.99 it wasn't worth it, I am donating it. Be careful when buying an item that does not have a price on it unless you're sure to keep it. They can claim that they never carried it. Weird claim since the whole premise of these stores are they can receive items one time and never again so how can a clerk claim to remember all they carry. read more

The one star is directed at the employee who works at the jewelry counter by the name of Tina. After carelessly wrapping my glass items in tissue and almost shattering what I bought, she was extremely dismissive and unbothered with my concerns. She seemed like she couldn't be bothered to help me at the jewelry counter and harassed me about the tj maxx credit card. As a customer who has come here for years I was shocked. This store is a typical TJ Max, the big drawback to me is that they are overcrowded with product and will leave it out in the aisle during the holidays when makes it near impossible to navigate. The associates are helpful, but the organization of this store leaves a lot to be desired. read more

I went in last week to purchase a couple items, I was looking for a couple items in the kitchen department and for some plate racks for the inside of the cabinets. Gabe O. was able to help me locate the ones I was purchasing! He was very patient and able to show me other possible items that I would be interested in! I ended up purchasing quite a few items that day! That day I came in, Dameon checked out all my purchases and he was so patient and carefully wrapped each item I purchased with care! Scattered. Chaos. Deals. These are just a few words that come to mind when I set foot in TJ Maxx and their other outlets in the past. It's a good concept but fires up many anxieties in my mind as well. The other deal-goers around me are just as eager to find that "golden egg" but the lengths people go to get it are beyond comprehension. The merchandising schemes I believe do not exist and sometimes you can't even find a price on some of the items. Hodgepodge would be the best descriptive word in this case. Aside from the things that make my mind spin, those deals are sometimes out of this universe! Personally I think boyfriend got more out the trip here than I did and that's ok because he can be the champion for the both of us. I'm now curious what TJ Maxx looks like during the off-season, maybe I should do another fact-finding mission. read more

They've been open for 4 weeks and it is stocked, and yet there were plenty of boxes and things left out to be unpacked, blocking some of the aisles. Surprisingly, I didn't end up buying a single thing - and I usually do when I go to TJ Maxx. As always with discount stores, it's hit or miss, and you sometimes get lucky and sometimes you don't. I won't totally write off this location yet - it's still new, and their inventory may get better the next time I go. They have a few things on Clearance already, but not that much. I usually like hunting through the Clearance section when I visit TJ Maxx. read more
