Have to say that I like Grocery Outlet stores in general. Due to the great variety of products, and continuous new products additions, making me, personally, enjoy the shopping experience, feeling like on a treasure hunt, and always going home with amazing finds. However, this specific location, is so much more special to me, because of the kind, always willing to help, smiling staff. And it starts with the owner, and continues with each member of their team. I continue to find all kinds of hidden gems at Grocery Outlet! I stopped by the one on Willow Pass Road yesterday and found this delicious Australian sweet called Violet Crumble, which is basically Chocolate Coated Honeycomb. What makes it special is that the honeycomb has a slight burnt flavor that helps balance out the sweetness. It adds just a touch of bitterness in a really pleasant way. It's incredibly delicious, and I have never seen this in other grocery stores. If I go back to the store, I'm definitely going to grab a few more before they sell out. Products at Grocery Outlet usually don't stick around for long, so when you find something you like, it's best to stock up while it's still available. While my overall shopping experience was pleasant, this is the second time I've encountered rude staff at the checkout. And I don't seem to have this issue at any other Grocery Outlet location, only this one. During my visit yesterday, the cashier scanned my items and then carelessly tossed them toward the end of the counter. A few of them nearly fell onto the floor, and I had to catch them before they did. I even said, "Jeez," hoping they'd realize what happened, but although they heard me, they didn't seem to care at all. You know what's insanely scummy? Telling people the state's making them get rid of plastic bags so their only choices are paper or reusable with the reusables costing extra, and then conveniently "running out" of paper bags in the whole store so they're "forced" to upsell as the only option. You know what's even scummier? Pulling that grift on low income families during a SNAP shutdown. read more

I love the organic choices and the really low prices, especially on coffee and other things that are getting expensive at other stores. I love my grocery outlet. This one is not mine. I came here because I was in the area and going to stop at mine later anyways so why not! The parking is fine. The layout is weird and crowded. I got what I needed sort of but grocery outlet is like that. It was the cashier that really was the downer. Young guy. I was in a good mood and this guy just didn't know how to smile or be friendly. Extremely slow assistance for checking on a price for an item and employees ignored when the cashier called for help

Really good selection of food. My hands were full and an employee came up just to give me a basket. Very sweet of him. The belt for checkout wasn't working but my cashier still made it a quick checkout ( I believe her names Katlyn per the receipt ). The bargain market!!! I've been rockin' with this Grocery Outlet since it first opened and have been a fan ever since. This isn't your average grocery store as most of its' content is overstock from other grocery stores, but it's still a great place to shop for your essentials. I love walking up and first seeing all of the discounted items outside. Usually it's discounted produce, but sometimes they have some other discounted goodies too. When I hit that first aisle, I'll usually find more deals on meats, pasta, and speciality items. When I come here, I usually go through every aisle (except the frozen aisle) unless I'm in a hurry. Some of my favorite aisles to shop through: *Nuts and snack aisle: They carry the best raw and mixed nuts here for dirt cheap! Love coming here for my trail mixes and raw almonds. They don't always have the same brands but that's the beauty of it; I always find something new to try out. *Yogurt aisle: Recently I've been sticking to Greek yogurt, but they carry some wonderful yogurt variations here. They've also started to carry plain Greek yogurt for really cheap and I love them for it. *Wine aisle: Honestly, I've found some of the most delicious wine here. The prices are unbelievably cheap, but please don't equate that to the quality of the wines that they carry. Many of these wines are from Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, and the North Coast. And the best part is; they are so GOOD! I usually buy a few bottles when I can. They also have great deals on the name brands when they have them in stock. A total win when it comes to the wine. *Bread Aisle: Love their bread selection! For such a tiny story, they have a sh*t ton of different breads! I also love to get their jams and peanut butters. Just found some creamy almond butter here the other day too! Whaaat? The bargain market is on the come up, bay-beh! *Random finds: This is my favorite part about coming to this store! I love randomly finding things here. I can't tell you how many times that I've purchased my workout and hiking clothes and bottles from here. Mm hmm. At Grocery Outlet! I've gotten door mats, skillets, spatulas and random cookware, makeup and eyelashes, tools and gardening supplies. Also have to shoutout that vitamin aisle because it's poppin'! My only pet peeve with this place is that the inventory isn't consistent because it's overstock. Came here yesterday and couldn't find ranch dressing, honey, black beans, or heavy whipping cream. Like wtfaaaack?! You literally have to come here with an open mind and just see what you can find because many times you won't be able to find what you actually need. Also, I have to mention that if you plan on purchasing any produce or meat from here, you better eat it QUICK. These items don't stay fresh for very long at all. They're definitely cheap, but they won't last a long time. Trust me; I've tried and it just doesn't last. But if you're planning on eating it with a few days, you should be good. But even with that, this is still an excellent spot to shop and I love coming here and finding some great random things. read more

So came here on the way back from Six Flags Concord, have been going to a local Grocery Outlet after all long trips lately. This is by far the worst of all locations. People like myself come to GOBM to get amazing deals and other stuff. I came here looking for snacks and cheap stuff and couldn't find either. The snacks was almost the same as Safeway prices but with a sooner expiration date. I enjoy going to this Grocery Outlet. Yes, the parking lot may be a bit on the strange side and while it's not the largest store, the employees are great. In fact, a special shout out to Tanner!! Two days ago, not only did he provide me with individual limes, but he also checked the price for me on the cherry tomatoes and told me that I should check the front of the store for the freshest berries. This store had blackberries which I had looked for multiple times at another location (sadly, without luck). The prices here are the definition of bargain. Keep up the great work! read more

Please hire competent employees. Every single time I go here, these young kids, mostly the guys, have no idea how to bag or do anything correctly. Zero customer service and just blank stares. Grocery Outlet in general is great. But spend the extra dollar in gas money to go to the one in pleasant hill. The location in Concord is not good. Some of the employees are very friendly but the revolving door of them makes me question the management a bit. The prices aren't great and you will often find expired products. Be careful not to buy them because the owner of the store will NOT give you a refund. As others have said he is confrontational. No Customer Service skills ...I usually shop at the Clayton /Concord location cause that's near my house and they are great!!! But today I was around this area and I decided to shop here . First and foremost there is no workers around to ask questions and then I happen to see some snacks that I thought was a great deal 2.49 so I grabbed it and went about my shopping but at check out my snack was ringing up at a different price which of course I corrected the cashier and let him know that it's supposed to be $2.49 , so he called to get a price verification and come to find out the items which by the way there was a whole bunch of them was stocked at the wrong place ... and they were actually stocked in two different places one place which I did not see had the correct tag and the other area which is where I got it from was tagged with different tag but same brand ... the associate then tells me that's not even the right item ... somebody put these there ... okay all of them like somebody who works there obviously... I did not want to waste my time but honestly they should have honored the price ... but what ever I hope they fix their store and have right prices !!! read more

I was looking for chili mangoes and found a chili mango with pineapple. I thought I would try it. I ended up not liking it. The pineapples were nice good. I tried to return at my local grocery outlet since I was driving through Concord when I bought them and they would not accept it. I then went back a week later to try to make the return and they would not take it because I didn't like it. I guess moral to the story is don't try anything you have never tried. They will not return it. Go to Costco or any other supermarket. Costco will take anything back. I left the dried mangoes in pineapple outside of the store. Hopefully someone will eat it. read more

A lot of the prices here are good. Maybe the overall selection isn't great but with grocery prices getting out of hand everywhere at least this place does have some deals. The beer selection is pretty good too. It's the lines and the line management that of course makes it hard to come in here. Super long lines, one or two registers open. I personally just won't stand in a long line, especially if you see other employees just walking around when another register can be open. Be careful with there pricing. It's possible the label says one thing and they charge you a different price.

Make sure you watch your items being scanner, on multiple occasions they have the charged me multiple times on one item, they have items priced incorrectly so that the items rings up as more once you're at the register and also charged me incorrect number for plastic bags. While there are a few friendly faces, there is one guy is particular who always rings me up incorrectly. For example, I've been charged for 3 bananas instead of 1,I've been double charged on different items, I've been double charged in multiple items. There have been instances when an item is on "clearance," but it still rings up at a higher price. So my tip is to TAKE A PHOTO of the sale price. It's always a hassle at the cash register because they refuse to change the price even though it's their fault they have the incorrect price. This has happened on multiple occasions so I honestly think they do that on purpose as an unethical cash grab hoping to make a couple extra bucks in hopes that the customer doesn't notice. Additionally the same guy charged me for four bags when I purchased 1 plastic bag. I find this it hard to believe this is an accident because you literally just can't he side to charge. This guy in particular is the one who always double chargers my items. I try to come here to save a quick but honestly this location is not worth the headache. Each grocery outlet is independently owned so I suggest driving a little further out to the Pleasant Hill location or even just shopping at Safeway. With this multiple instances, too many times to have been an accident. I definitely think there are some unethical practices going on here in hopes of making a couple more bucks off customers. We bought tortillas from here and there was a literal human bite taken out of the ENTIRE bag.. including the plastic.. wtf lol. Someone's a big fan or tortillas and plastic i guess. Our fault for not checking it but how you gonna sell tortillas with a whole ass bite taken out of every single one AND THE PLASTIC was eaten No way it was a rodent. It was a good chomp Lol. Most things are much cheaper than other places. If they carry what you want great. Somethings are not regularly stocked so have to be flexible I did shop here so often I forgot how expensive so other stores are for items not on sale Worth shipping here at least on some of your shopping outings to stock up and save. read more

Love this store, just don't buy wine. I bought 20 bottles during the wine sale, I took 2 back because they were spoiled. The manager took them back no problem, although the owner was argumentative. I got two diff bottles, one turned out to be spoiled, when I tried to return it along with another bad bottle, the manager would not exchange them or give me my money back. Insisting he had the same wine and it was fine. I'm not a wine expert but I know when a wine is bad and I don't go around claiming wine is bad just to get more. I spent over $100 for the wine sale and usually spend $20 a week. Going forward I will take my money to Trader Joe's, where I have never had a spoiled bottle and they always take things back with out an argument. read more

What happened to this Grocery Outlet? It used to be a great store. Now I find myself angry every time I go there. It's dirty, employees don't seem happy and rude to customers, and the final straw for me was getting charged for a bag when they don't allow me to bring in my own bag. Simply the worst management and staff anywhere. Such an untidy, disorderly, disheveled store. Half the products have no prices on them. I spent $86 there on Saturday, 9/3/22 (with Food Stamps). Two items - only amounting to $3.98 - had a "Best By" date of 10/6/2022 and when I got them home they were spoiled and rank once I opened them. It turns out they were non-returnable even with the receipt. Just an utterly poor way to treat customers, particularly disabled seniors like me.. Do they need my Food Stamp money that bad that they would forever alienate me? I'll never shop there again and neither should you if you have a conscience. I'll continue to shop in the Pleasant Hill location where they accept all returns no-questions-asked and their store is neat and clean and orderly, and the staff are friendly and helpful. read more

It's strange how I could find the naan bread located in 3 different places around the store. Lots of repetition around the store. I work right next door so having a market so close is beneficial for a quick lunch. This becomes a problem at check out because some cashiers are so slow or they talk to the customer. I was in line behind 1 person and the lane next to me checked out 4 people before I ever got to the check out. The cashier was just talking up a storm with the customer. It was terrible just standing there with my 3 items waiting, listening to their conversation, and worst of all, watching the lane next to me move fast. I probably should've picked up my items and went to the other line. I was appalled at the slowness of the cashier and her obvious disregard for work. Worst experience ever. I might as well have gotten in my car and driven to another grocery store. read more

This is by far the best Grocery Outlet jn the Bay Area. The assortment of product is wide and covers any and all needs. The layout is organized and store is clean which gives you friction free shopping. The customer service is what stands out the most. I grabbed a box of brownie brittle small bags of 20 for $14.99. It's a good deal, right? Not until they rang it up for $16.59, it was explained to me it's .79 each. I cancelled that purchase because even when I checked it while she waits and told the cashier what their tag says $14.99 she just stood there acted like I was making it up. Customer service is not good at all, not giving the shopper the benefit of the doubt that it is intact $14.99/box. I told the cashier please check your tag, it shows a different price. She just grabbed my receipt and thanked me without a second glance. read more
