I came to browse this store around 7:30pm, it was crowded. It is next to the Home Goods store and the two stores connects together. Prices are not bad. The checkout line was long at 9:21pm as the store closes at 9:30pm. There were six cashiers at the checkout lane. I waited for about 10 minutes before I was helped at the checkout lane. Overall, all went well! Great selection of items at a discounted price. You never pay full retail here. read more

I typically love shopping at TJ Maxx and rarely leave empty-handed, but this particular location was so dissappointing. The store felt outdated, cluttered, and not very clean and organized. This made the overall shopping experience rather stressful rather than enjoyable. The layout also felt overcrowded, especially with it being combined with Home Goods, making it difficult to browse comfortably. Unfortunately, the customer service didn't improve the experience. Staff were not very attentive or helpful. The clothing selection felt outdated while still being priced higher than expected. I usually enjoy the "treasure hunt" experience at TJ Maxx, but this location just didn't come to meet the standard I've come to expect. read more

I just got accused of switching tags here . I literally always come to this tjmaxx as a Fremont resident and I wanna say within the past 10 years I've returned something maybe 3 times total. Another frustrating experience at TJM. The checker was not careful while scanning my items and she charged me for something I did not even purchase. The clerk was flustered since several of my items did not scan and had to be re entered by another employee, then scanned. I called the store and advised them of what happened. Now, I have to return to the store and have them view the camera. The level of carelessness by the employees is making me less inclined to shop there. read more

TJ Maxx pretty much sells discounted products such as furniture, clothes, and many varieties. In almost every price tag, you'll see the original vs discounted prices. They also own HomeGoods, which is why its sign is next to TJ Maxx's. When I got in on a weekday at afternoon, there's many people there. During peak hours, line to the cash registers is very long and you may need to wait for a long time. From some aisles, they get crowded making it hard for customers to pass by. I guess it's crowded now because of prepping for the holidays. Because it's a discount store, please beware of electronics and some of their accessories. I really like TJMAX and HomeGood, they have all kind of cute stuffs. I especially like the home decor and seasonal decorations. From Halloween, to Christmas to now has all these Easter related stuff, like cute rabbit. 1) Store is clean 2) A lot of time, the line is very long, but somehow, move pretty fast, not that bad. 3) For clothing, somehow, I don't able to find clothings I like. Called ahead to check to see if there was an item there. When I told them what the brand name was, the manager of duty said that there's no such brand. When I described the item that I was looking for, it was a men's accessory box. A lady put me on hold for a couple minutes, She came back and told me that they don't have it. Since I worked close to this location, I dropped in, and not only found that brand, but I also found the item I was looking for. I get it, they're busy. Warning!!! This store appears unwilling to accept returns for items purchased elsewhere, especially without a receipt or if they incorrectly scan the item, causing it not to register in their system. Last Sunday, I attempted to return some pillows I had bought from a different store, but the employee was uncooperative due to my lack of receipt. I suggested that store credit would be acceptable since I frequently shop at TJ Maxx, yet she continued to create obstacles. Even after I presented my credit card transaction as proof, I had to request to speak with a manager. According to the store's policy, I should be able to provide my ID for a return without a receipt to receive store credit, and the manager initially agreed. However, when the employee scanned the price tag, she claimed my items were not in their system and ultimately denied the return. While I was taken aback, I appreciated the manager's efforts. Fortunately, today I went to another TJ Maxx on Saratoga, where my items were properly registered in the system, and the employee processed my return without any issues. (See attached). read more

A quick update since reviewing back in 2021. Nothing too much to report outside of no more enforcement of COVID protocols as much of that has been lifted for a while now. Stock is again touch and go depending on the day and when you go, but that's typical of TJ Maxx as it's not a department store. It's a bargain hunter's shop so if you find something that you like, you better buy it now or forever hold your peace because you won't know if it's going to be there when you get back. You can find some real good deals here if you're patient enough. I would say visit one or two stores if you're trying to find duplicates of items because most stock will be dispersed to multiple stores. I've gotten doubles of items when needed. Also one store can have completely different stock than the other. Checking out can take a while as it is joined with a HomeGoods so two stores with roughly the same amount of check out stands (okay maybe more) but they're relatively good about opening more when lines are atrociously long, especially during the Christmas season. But still a good option to have if you're not wanting to pay full price for items. read more

DISCRIMINATION & RACIAL PROFILING AT IT'S FINEST: NOV 30, 2025 at 9:10am. I just walked out of Home Good/ TJ Maxx at this location and I decided to sit in my car to write this review. Whoever the security guard on duty that day at that time needs to do better. I am the girl with the black hoodie, grey sweat pants and the burgundy hat that you were pretending not to follow. I have never wanted to walk out of a building because of how uncomfortable I was. I get it. It's the holidays and people steal, but I'm confused as to why other people weren't being followed. I honestly do not feel comfortable at this store anymore. There was probably 8 people in the store, but for some reason every aisle I turned on there you were. I usually try to see positive in everything and not assume the worse in people's actions but this was obviously racial profiling. Stop discriminating on people based on their skin color stop assuming people of the same color commit the same crimes. I guess the big full-price retailers have found out they can sell their remaining merchandise on the Internet for much better profitability than selling it to the bargain stores like TJ Maxx. The result is bargain Hunters can't find good deals in these stores anymore! The store is well maintained and very clean. However, the more important element - the merchandise that they usually have is no longer available in the store. The only good thing I like about this store is they're attached to HomeGoods. I had to hop on Yelp to review Tjmaxx/home goods location Boscell Rd,Fremont. This location has never disappoint me, they're always always stocked up with new, nifty, trendy finds. This review is mainly cause I'm impressed by their staff, after visiting this location for 5 years and never been disappointed by their staff and by service they provide to customers. I've always had great experience at their jewelry department and never had any problems returning/exchanging merchandise even when I had lost my receipt. Lately they have such beautiful sweaters that I went twice in one month to stock up for my self and family. Can't go wrong with brand name merchandise on bargain prices is icing on a cake. read more

Great selection but the "coordinator" Angie was terrible and her attitude was unacceptable. Thus the 2 star rating. (Would have been 4 star for the other factors) Why: See photo. One item was marked down and another of the exact same was not. Both sat right next to each other and this Angie lady told me she couldn't mark it down because one item had the smallest of damage that only that one was marked down. Be aware that you may not be able to return TJ Maxx items in this store. I bought 2 items in other store when I traveled to other city the past weekend and went to this store to return unused and unwearied items. An indifferent Indian lady had trouble to scan the items and had a Caucasian senior staff to help. The Caucasian staff told me that I cannot return the items in this store and have to return them in the original store. She also implied that they are fake tags by stating we don't make our tags like this. The tags look like regular TJ Maxx tags for me. I told the lady that I was not the one made the tags and scanned the items and asked if she could use the numbers and description on the receipt to check if they match the item numbers on the tags. She told me No and I can't return items even I go to other store. It was a very bad experience and makes me don't want to shop at TJ Maxx any more. I feel discrimination at this store. I went to other store on the same day and was able to return items without any issue. Scanned the receipt and item tags and then returned without any question at other TJ Maxx store. read more

First visit and first impressions: Great location! (I'm sorry to read the negative reviews but my family's experience was entirely different.) We came here on a busy Sunday evening (it was busy in here but COVID-19 protocols were still being enforced (masks must be worn by everyone, social distancing and sanitizer provided by the store). We came here for the Home Goods department and they have a very good inventory and great selection on kitchen items. We were very pleased with the staff as they were ubiquitous and friendly and helpful. Aisles and shelves were very clean, neat and organized. Prices on quality products are much lower than competitors prices. They offer "contactless home delivery" and "same day delivery" for their furniture. We saw too many things that we need/want for our house and will have to return again in the near future; but first we must purge our house and garage! I have a love/hate relationship with this store. If you go right when it opens then you will love it but if you during busier times such as in the afternoon you will hate it especially when you see that line wrap around and then some. I have shopped here for stuff I needed and stuff that were more wants than needs. I wish their kids section had more clothes options for kids older than 6. Terrible terrible place. DO NOT COME HERE!!!!! My sister and I were enjoying ourselves taking our time shopping and realized we were being followed around by the workers. We both work in retail too so we know how these things go. My sister and I started shimming through all the things we've got and behind us was an older worker lady "scanning" items. We heard another male worker walk away from her and say that he was gonna go check the cameras and at this point I thought that maybe they were talking about someone else. We walked to check out and that same old lady followed us in line and that's when I knew! She walked up to the counter, kept pretending to be busy and kept talking on her walkie talkie. It was then mine and my sisters turn in line and our cashier was nice but that same old lady following us was right next to her still pretending to be busy. Then when the cashier was doing my transaction a heavy Asian lady who I believe was the store manager started bagging my items which was weird lol, so fast forward, my cashier then asks me if I want the paper stuffing in the bag I bought taken out and I was just like no it's fine and she went ahead and still took it out! I'm 100% positive they profiled my sister and I probably because we were young and not dressed like everyone else there. Most of the shoppers were families with young kids or older ladies. So yeah we probably stuck out to them. The sad thing is we still spent our money here after everything that happened! I'll never return to this store. Love this location! Compared to the other TJ Maxxes and Rosses in the area, I would say this TJ Maxx is my favorite...and not just because it's attached to a HomeGoods!! This place is so dangerous because, similar to Target, I go in with the intention of buying one thing, but come out getting more LOL! One would say that, you get the best of both worlds at this location: TJMaxx...AND HomeGoods!!! That's great and all, but it's going to take a lot more for me to do round-about backflips and rep 5 stars at this location. To be honest, the selection of shoes, bags and CLOTHES- sucks. The size 7, shoe rack was depressing and the MK purses tower shelf was sad. Although the few purses available had decent to low pricing, they were far from my style. The clearance rack, which I hit up before anything else..seriously brought a tear or two to my eyes. I would have to say, that I would only return to this location if I needed something from HomeGoods and I just so happen to accidentally walk-onto the Tj Maxx side. I can't find a bad reason to say 'bout HomeGoods-It's truly a good store for, home decor stuff and more. Note: The check out lines are always long, no matter what time of the day. This place is always busy lol so beware, especially during times of COVID. I usually shop here for skincare and clothes. I noticed that this TJ Maxx doesn't have as good of a variety of skincare products as other stores I have been to. I've been a loyal customer to this location since they opened considering it's the closest to me, has a wide variety of selection and is well kept . I mostly come for the jewelry selection & this is where my poor experience begins. Some information I should explain before I explain my poor shopping experiences. I had shopped here with my mother a few days prior with a sweet younger brunette girl where I had made a large purchase of $200 worth of jewelry, and she had given me a small bag to put my jewelry into while I met my mother in line to purchase our other items. It is their store policy you have to pay for jewelry at the jewelry counter, and your other items at a separate register in front of the store. For the next few days I couldn't get some of the other beautiful jewelry out of my head so I made a trip back. This is where I first came into contact with Selma. I again made a purchase about $150-$200 worth of jewelry during this visit. I had multiple boxes of jewelry as well as other items I needed to pay for in my hand. I also needed to look for a gift which I had not done yet. As Selma was ringing up my jewelry she asked if I wanted to ring up my other jewelry? I replied "No thank you", but she insisted I ring it up. I again replied "no it's okay, thank you" because I knew I wasn't done shopping, and the other jewelry I had wasn't in their special case (I had found it in the clearance section). She replied to me "it's better if I ring all the jewelry up here. You can pay for it all here" and I said "no thank you it's okay. I'm not ready". Once the transaction was done I realized I had multiple boxes and my hands were full. Mind you I had a very small purse with me so there was no where for me to put my newly purchased jewelry. I then asked Selma for a bag, and she said "No. I'm sorry I can't do that" and proceeded to look at my tattoos and look me up and down. I asked her "why not? I shopped here a few days ago and a young girl gave me one after making a purchase why is this time any different?" And she said "No. I'm not giving you a bag if you like you can pay for that jewelry now and your other items and you can have a bag" I replied "I am not finished shopping but I need a bag to place my purchased items in" and she said "No! You cannot walk around with a bag in your hand and shop" And turned away. I walked away extremely upset because by the look on her face and her examination of my tattoos and insistence of me having to purchase my other items at the same time (when I wasn't done looking or even sure I wanted the other items) made me feel extremely discriminated against and upset especially considering that I walked by the counter a few minutes later and she gave some other customers bags for their items. Bad management, the closing manager on Dec 31st was very rude. If they were closing at 6 PM they should be polite to the customers who are waiting outside to get into the store. Firstly, she said they would allow 8 people Into the store, as we were party of 2 and there were 7 people ahead of us my friend asked if she would allow 1 of us to which she said no. Secondly, she came out at at 5:36 PM and said the below in a rude tone "You may not be able to get into the store as we have to close at 6:00 PM to go home and celebrate New Year with our families". After this there were a few of us who were still waiting outside the store and this lady, comes out to call the security within a couple of minutes and says " there are few people who don't understand we have to close and go home". Rarely do I yelp stores, or department stores. The reason for this review is that my daughter and I popped in "just to look" After "looking" for quite some time it was time to pay... The lady in the jewelry dept. was so sweet, and it was her birthday! Then it was time to go... until we started "looking" on the HOMEGOODS side! Time to pay again... It's Monday before noon why on earth is the line soooo long?! It is December... The cashier's were all so pleasant it was nice, they obviously need more help, but they were great. A very small TJ Maxx connected with a Home Goods. Its actually more of a Home Goods store with a very small TJ as an afterthought. I suppose I would warn guys not to go shopping here with their girlfriends because it will take their other half twice as long to snoop around both of these stores. You will get incredibly bored. I usually run through a store quick as I don't particularly enjoy shopping. Make sure you go ahead and shop with a person in the similar mindset. Maybe if you need to kill time while the girlfriend is browsing fill up your vehicle at the Costco gas station nearby. In the evenings the lines there are so long one would think that we were in a fuel shortage or that they were giving away gas for free. Should take you 30 minutes. Still shaking my head the way people kill their time. I dislike spending time at the pump... for others like me I recommend a 1996 Passat TDI where you can get 800 miles per tank or a plug in hybrid where your garage is your gas station and you fuel up while sleeping. read more

Went in here to look for a bag/backpack the selection is usually relatively large & cute and just my luck I found a backpack that converts into a purse! While on the hunt, I tried on and looked at two/three different bags - putting one notebook in to check how large it was and seeing if it was worth purchasing... while doing so two/three employees stood close to me and continuously eyed me like I was doing something suspicious.... there are tags and such that prevent me from stealing, chill out. After I'm done looking at the purses, another shopper points out that an entire tassel is missing from a zipper... Sad I walked over to an employee, I got "Hi, this bags missing something on the zipper and-" and she interrupts me and says "No, No. We don't have anymore, all we have is out". I mean thanks but also ??? I walk over to the cashiers and ask somebody if they could check for a potential price reduction, the guy I ask is nice about it and I'm patient because the line is kind of long - but there are like four women standing behind the counter doing literally nothing. I sat waiting by the check out area for around 15 minutes and walked off to look and jewelry because clearly whatever they were doing was more important. While trying on chokers, the woman in the dressing room and the clerk at the jewelry center are just gossiping super loudly and talking about the most unprofessional topics. This is a brand new TJ Maxx here in Fremont, in the Pacific Commons Shopping Center. They previously were located in Newark, close to New Park Mall, they finally moved out of that location into a new and better location, which also has a Home Goods connected to it!! I went here today, and boy all I can say is it was PACKED full of people trying to find such great decent bargains! I was able to find some bargains, myself. Bought myself a jacket for the winter weather. Parking: Parking here can be difficult to find because of the many different stores and little shops here inside the Pacific Commons. The other main store in the shopping center, is JoAnn's Fabrics. Meaning you may not find a parking spot right away, you may have to search for a parking spot somewhere not in front of the store. Shopping Carts: A tip on the shopping carts, if there is a shopping cart near where you parked or on the way to the store from where you parked, I highly recommend you bring it with you to the store, because when you get to the store, you'll probably notice there are no shopping carts left! I have come here so many times I can't even! Basically my whole family loves coming here, we never come with an intention we are more "just looking" people and end up with a cart full of stuff! Be careful because you'll end up buying way more than you actually need! On this TJ Maxx side there's a variety of bags and shoes, makeup - which I will say needs quite a bit of clean up! I love makeup so I get pretty excited to see what hidden gems I can find for a great price however every time I go, the makeup is all shattered, dirty and just messy. There's no sense of organization it's like they just throw it all and move on to the next thing which sucks. There's a row of children's things in the back and in the center of the store is clothing of all kinds from casual to active wear. (I only buy my yoga pants here because they're so inexpensive but still cute and even name brand!) Sure it takes a while to find a diamond in the rough but once you do it's worth it! Plus the home goods side on the right is filled with awesome pet and home decor. My favorite hidden gems here are the cards! They have the cutest cards for all occasions and way cheaper than if you got them at hallmark for sure! read more
